Not that it matters much...But I believe that Zelensky made a strategic mistake with Putin; when he said last week to the world (maybe not his exact words), that he still wished he had nuclear weapons --- Like Ukraine had before the Soviet Republic break-up.

Now, Putin is using that Zelensky statement...as one of his reasons for invading Ukraine.

It doesn't matter... Putin could put in a hat 100 random reasons and draw one out with the same results. He will go after other countries too if this is highly successful with another so called "reason".

Oooops, someone is scared

“I think that everyone should think about normalizing relations and cooperating normally,” he said.

He said Russia saw no need to aggravate tensions with other countries, claiming that Moscow’s actions in Ukraine only came “in response to unfriendly actions toward Russia.”

I think Putin just "blinked"

Wonder, how Mr Putin thinks the world should 'normalize relationships' and 'cooperate normally' after all the sh*t he did? Or is he talking about ceasefire again... Everybody is tired of your ceasefire talks, Mr Putin. Nobody is cease firing. Go home, you're drunk with power.

He, apparently, also said he's NOT BOMBING the Ukrainian cities. Ad nauseam in full force!

Everyday. All day. People will be talking, posting, sharing what a c*nt you are, Mr Putin. We all see you and your atrocities. It is just your word against all of ours.

Therefore:

"Keep talking. Ukraine needs to be heard. Only you can tell the truth to the world. Do not be silent!" - Ukraine.

Reports that Maria Baronova, editor-in-chief at RT's Russian language edition, has resigned in protest over the invasion of Ukraine.

Our granddads didn’t fight for this. And now they’ve been betrayed.

Cheers

People got to take the power back. No masses will longer be cannon fodder for the rich and powerful.

The real big eye opener in this conflict is the damage man portable devices can have . What’s a T92 or even newer T14. Cost ? 35-65 million dollars a unit and it’s wiped out by some guy chewing a cheroot with a 50k missile ? It’s a big game changer , the hardware suppliers will be changing specs as we speak , tank orders will be getting cancelled . As with the First World War when the generals wanted fixed piece battles but the other side dug in , we are now seeing the next Evoloution

Ukraine to be accepted as a Contributing Participant to NATO CCDCOE
This week, the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) held its 30th Steering Committee. With a unanimous vote, the 27 Sponsoring Nations in the Steering Committee of the CCDCOE agreed to Ukraine’s membership in the NATO CCDCOE as a Contributing Participant.

“Ukraine’s presence in the Centre will enhance the exchange of cyber expertise, between Ukraine and CCDCOE member nations. Ukraine could bring valuable first-hand knowledge of several adversaries within the cyber domain to be used for research, exercises and training,” emphasized Col Jaak Tarien, Director of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.

“Capability and knowledge comes from experience, and Ukraine definitely has valuable experience from previous cyber-attacks to provide significant value to the NATO CCDCOE. Estonia as a Host Nation of the CCDCOE has been a long-term partner for Ukraine in enhancing its cyber security capacity and cyber resilience and we welcome the decision of the members of CCDCOE agreeing to Ukraine’s membership,” commented Minister of Defence of Estonia Kalle Laanet.

After Ukraine sent a letter to confirm its remaining interest in joining NATO CCDCOE as a Contributing Participant, their membership was put on the vote in the Steering Committee of the CCDCOE. The Centre has already expanded its memberships outside the NATO-nations.

The CCDCOE is a NATO-accredited cyber knowledge hub, research institution, and training and exercise facility. The Tallinn-based international military organisation focuses on interdisciplinary applied research, as well as consultations, training and exercises in the field of cyber security.

So Fox's headline is the EU wants Ukraine to join assp , OK let's say they join like now . Just what does that mean Putin has to retreat or face the EU if not the EU will send troops. I don't get it

And if he isn’t successful?

He (Putin) might lash out like a wounded, dangerous animal --- Then all hell might break loose!!!

It may sway Putin to retreat or face the wrath of Nato.

Conversely, it would, in putins position, completely validate his actiona and embolden his efforts.

Place your bets.

EU is more of a financial conglomerate , technically it means nothing war wise but does get the ball rolling big time . NATO is the key but it’s not that simple to join . Countries have taken decades to get the criteria to join NATO . Now due to hostile action against Ukraine then they can try and get outside assistance from EU states and the possibility of air cover could be considered but it would be through UN forces . We then have the issue of which non NATO countries would be capable of enforcing a no fly zone against Russia ( to be honest I’m at a loss to think of even 1 ) . Your not the only one that’s confused by it all .
B52 H have been flying the border all day , numerous sigint aircraft , shed loads of tankers, patrolling fighters, drones and countless heavy lift aircraft are also
Operating in the border . It points to a massive build up of nato forces and real time intelligence gathering . Now that could be to protect NATO bordering countries but it could also be the preparation to retaliation measures should the window licker put a step out of line

More people killed every year with .22lr than any other round . People think it’s cap gun stuff , it ain’t . I’ve certainly shot through 2x2 using .22lr .
5.56 the standard nato round is basically the same bore as .22 just a shed load more propellant to enable the rifle to cycle

I once bit the head off a .22 from its casing. I cringe at the thought.

Yip. Not toys at all.

Anyway. Back to Russia/Ukraine. I believe Putski may have blinked.

There is no need to escalate the situation, impose restrictions. We fulfill all obligations,” he said. “If someone does not want to cooperate with us within the framework of single cooperation, and by doing so harms themselves, they will, of course, harm us, too.

This is from the guy threatening Nuclear armageddon.

Former specalist getting involved it would appear.

A crack team of SAS veterans is joining Ukraine’s bloody fight against the Russian invasion, the Daily Mirror can reveal. Retired UK special forces soldiers have volunteered for missions deep inside Ukraine to back up the country's defence. It is believed ex-Paratroopers may at some point join the special forces teams in Ukraine, along with other UK military specialists.

The veterans, aged between 40 and 60, have had meetings to discuss signing up for the dangerous mission, backing up Ukrainians in combat. Key to their operation is among them there are highly-trained snipers and experts in the use of anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles

Snipers will also help in taking out Russian forward air spotters and Moscow’s special forces who are guiding in airstrikes on troops and local communities.

It is believed the operation is not being paid for by the British government but will be funded by a country in Europe, still to be named, via a private military company.
