Those already ARE "public executions" of the most literal form. Just done by bombs instead of bullets to the head. The end result is the same.

It somehow seems different when one is collateral damage, and the other is a matter of military policy.

Public executions happen to this day in the Middle East all the time. I don't see that having anything more than a local effect. Hell, we've already seen ghastly footage of dead civilian bodies all over Ukraine, including kids. Those already ARE "public executions" of the most literal form. Just done by bombs instead of bullets to the head. The end result is the same.

Yeah just recently in the 2021 Israel–Palestine crisis

Killing those attacking civilians, while they are attacking civilians, in order to stop that attacking of civilians, is 100% Acceptable.

To EVERYONE.

What russia is doing is NOT.

To ANYONE.

Look recently in 2021 Israel–Palestine crisis.

Israeli tactic “roof knocking” slamming a non explosive or low-yield missile on the roofs of targeted civilian homes.

It’s meant to give the targeted area 15mins to get the hell out of there. Sometimes little as 5mins.

Did the peaceful cargo threaten russia in some way?

Or just call the invading russians mean names and refuse to get out of the way of russian landing craft?

Isn't gonna work.

NOBODY has ANY problem with ANYONE killing terrorists in the process of launching 12,000 missiles at their civilian population centers.

Israel didn't go nearly as far as I would have.

Maybe next time.

Cuz I'm sure there's gonna be a next time.

From 4 hours ago, looks like Russia sunk a cargo ship under the flag of Estonia while in port at Odesa. A cargo ship has sunk off the Ukrainian port of Odesa after an explosion, Reuters is reporting. Two crew members of the Estonian-owned cargo ship Helt were in a life raft at sea, Igor Ilves, managing director of Tallinn-based manager Vista Shipping Agency, said. The four other crew members are missing, Ilves said. Ilves said: Later reported that all crew were rescued and taken to the hospital for hypothermia.

Any more news on this?
Isn't it strange that a ship of a NATO aligned country just sinks because of an "explosion"?
Is this going to give NATO the excuse they need to implement Article 5?

I agree. Shelling Ukrainians on the streets is very much of an execution, and very much in public. All over the news as well. No one can deny that one.

See, Europeans are not 'used to' being executed. It doesn't sound right. They see all those videos from Syria and Palestine and read about Uyghurs in the concentration camps and think this is not their business as it is far away from home. And 'everybody has their own problems' thing. This sh*t is very 'real' out of a sudden.

Hypocrisy, I guess. Followed by some Karma.

Shame for all this bloodshed. Pity for Ukrainians the most. Their only fault is being born into the proxy country.

We can just hope this might be the beginning of a change. Though the first outcome is already a bit grim: more money for guns, plans to create a much bigger 'unified' army. All this money that could be spent on way better things. Unfortunately, we live in a bloody paradox: if you want piece, prepare for war.

For now, no matter all these horrors happening in Ukraine, everyone in Europe will be tip-toeing around the situation. Russia has nukes and knows how to use them (I think). We don't have a Planet B. Only piece-talks in place. How do one reasons with a madman, though?

But what do I know. I'm naive. Rainbows and unicorns

Peace

I fear that the Russian troops who are invading Ukraine, will become more battle hardened, when they see their comrade buddies getting killed or wounded; which could raise the battle level to be indiscriminately more violent against their opponents.

No.

And NOBODY is looking for an 'excuse'.

Not much more, except the Russians allegedly captured the ship and used it as a shield. Also, that is the 2nd cargo ship Russia sunk; the other was Bangladeshi and one life was lost.

Two ships have sunk in the Black Sea near the port of Odessa, Ukraine. It has been confirmed that one seafarer has been killed.

The Panama-flagged cargo ship, Helt, sank today in the Black sea. Maritime-Bulletin reported that the Estonian-owned vessel was seen sinking with a heavy list, citing Ukrainian sources. It also reported the ship had previously been captured by the Russian navy and was being used as a shield, though this has not been verified.

Not even a wee bit???

I'm certainly not accusing you of being vitriolic against democracy. But these GOP goons, that are supporting Putin and his evil values, in a moment where the fate of democratic Ukraine is in dire peril? Needless to say...that those GOP goon supporters of Putin, are operating in a totally different reality then we are.

I'm hoping you see where I'm coming at. And maybe...just maybe, you'll come around in the support of the U.S. Democratic Party, that supports democracy and freedom around the free world and beyond.

Ukraine Defense Ministry says it destroyed 20 Russian vehicles near Hostomel Air Base

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said it destroyed a total of 20 Russian military vehicles near the Hostomel Air Base on Thursday.

Videos posted to social media show Ukrainian soldiers walking by damaged and burning vehicles marked with the V sign that suggests they were among Russian forces that came from Belarus.
The start of the 40+ mile convoy, identified on satellite images, was just north of the Hostomel Air Base.
