That would be nice to see this week, and I guess the next few weeks, but... "BUT" if it starts out this week (monday morning) then the rest would have to finish up by this weekend. The fact is if this starts out, then those guilty will panic like crazy and either off themselves (ie Suicide Weekend) or will try and take out everyone they can.

This would be a big concern. My opinion is that would likely relieve pressure and stop a catastrophic explosion of the main crater by opening up a caldera with no blockage. The site being radioactive is more of a concern since it will launch magma a long way. Hopefully the already metallic nature of components of magma will make it stay below a certain level of the atmosphere like when a Nuke is exploded underwater doesn't get as much elevation. No! The energy released would push deep magma deeper under great pressure and could cause major eruptions anywhere in that region of our planet.

Once the explosive force has waned, the pressure would rebound and the resultant eruption would be enormous.
