Honestly some of this current problem, besides being 100% teeeveee driven, is that folks of a certain age are ignorant. Simple as that. To an extent they live in the moment, which is good, but that moment has zero reference to the reality structure around them. They don't know the processes, the foundational principals and they see everything as fluid as gender. They've built nothing, struggled little and.... remarkably.... see their lives in need of annihilation for reasons they don't even understand.

Yet, they are all experts in all things. Ignorant experts without the critical thinking skills needed to navigate anomalies in the reality construct.

Out of the nearly 10,000,000 infected in the US, 237,000 have already died. That isn't a 99% survival rate.

In the UK, of the 1,195,000 infected, 49,135 have already died. That isn't a 99% survival rate.

In France, of the 1,835,506 infected, 40,491 have already died. That isn't a 99% survival rate.

Of the top 20 nations in therms of numbers of infections of COVID-19, none have a case mortality rate of 1% or lower.

Early numbers are skewed thanks to the blue govs putting infected elderly back into nursing homes with the vulnerable. That jacked our rates up there.

For most every age demographic it is extremely survivable into that range.

Just so you know... I now know several people with Covid...
One of them got a bit of a headache. The other is on Facebook mocking it.
Flu has somehow vanished, and nurses are coming out telling everyone that they are being lied to.

You're right - 238,000/10,100,000 = 0.0235643564356436

So, of the CONFIRMED cases, we have an overall 2% case fatality rate. But, do you really think that everyone who has actually gotten COVID has gone to get a test? I think we can at least double the number of actual cases - probably more like 5x. Even if you only double it, you get to 1%.

And that is for all cases. Unless you are 70+ years old and have 2 or 3 comorbidities, the actual chances of dying are MUCH lower than 1%.
