Thanks for the info. I am in NYS, at this point it does not matter much to me. No plans to bug out, we live in a rural area with 5 acres. Just planted some seeds to start a garden this morning.

I have been out only twice since 3/13. Both times for propane and meds. Otherwise we are in for the duration.

Since we sit only about 10 miles from the PA border though, we have a lot of people that live in PA and work in NY, hospital staff and doctors included. I wonder how it will work for them?

I'm reading a lot of street talk on social media saying that the CARE act that just passed takes control of the central bank away from the Federal Reserve and gives it back to the Treasury.

Not sure whether there is any truth to this at all.

Edited to add - yes the article they are sharing is an opinion piece, however, is the info it is based on correct?

My niece and her husband live in CT and headed out to the store to stock up just after they heard the news about the possible quarantine of their state. Her husband just texted the family that he witnessed a fight break out in Walmart, and showed a pic of a bottle of disinfectant cleaner with an anti-theft device on it. it was just a standard spray bottle of Clorox spray. Crazy times.

- 6.05pm : Spain : All non-essential workers are to stay home. They will be paid a full salary.
Set to last from 30th March to 9th April.

- 6.44pm : A new Report shows 'Coronavirus patients in Intensive Care in the UK have 50% Survival Rate'.

Data from the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) showed that of 165 patients treated in critical care in England, Wales and Northern Ireland since the end of February, 79 died, while 86 survived and were discharged.

The figures were taken from an audit of 775 people who have been or are in critical care with the disease, across 285 intensive care units. The remaining 610 patients continue to receive intensive care.

Well, I see NY continues it rise in numbers. Oneida county (mine) is up to 23. With numbers like these I can see why Trump is considering quarantine for NY. This morning we were at 46262 now we are over 52000:

Highlights of Governor Cuomo's Briefing today from BBC Live Feed at 19h57 :

- New York City officials may shut parks and issue fines to people who continue to congregate in groups, in violation of state social distancing orders

- New medical centres have opened across the state, with 4,000 new hospital beds created in recent days. One new treatment centre has been opened in each of NYC's five boroughs

- The apex, which Mr Cuomo called "the war", is still 14 - 21 days away -and the time to prepare is now

- He said he had not talked to President Trump about the idea of an "enforceable" quarantine imposed on the state, as well as the surrounding states of New Jersey and Connecticut

- States should not be outbidding each other for medical devices - rather the federal government should do the buying on behalf of each state.

People over 65 years old are at higher risk to serious illness from the coronavirus, according to the CDC.

One of my friends (a younger double amputee) is in one of those nursing homes where a caregiver has testid positive for COVID-19.
