I've tried to stay with fairly accurate updates. Other then Hokkaido (which I don't have current update on a possible shutdown) I go based upon what is usually posted here on the forum. In my mind its not totally BS at all. And I try my best to stay away from doom and gloom. Don't want to get a headache .

Thanks, its funny I rarely go to Japan Times for information. I do think the governor is a bit too green to handle this situation though. Personally speaking, it is school break now, people that can are wearing mask, 1000's of people are working from home. Train volume of passengers are down. Planes from the latest is slow, more people are going by shinkansen. I think he has to wait till PM Abe get the info of business outlook by the community that was held today. I don't know when the report will be in. Many foreigners go to Hokkaido so I think the economy in many areas are not doing so well. Personally, people are not traveling much. I just posted about our town travel agency closing its doors.

In France, they have upped the Police/Gendarmerie (MilPol) Checks in Train stations, to prevent people travelling between City's and regions.
The Passenger Rail traffic has already been reduced by 50%, and they are planning to reduce it more.
The don't want anyone travelling anywhere who shouldn't be.

Could be a lot of factors at play. Enough to doubt it as a true indicator anyway. How many millions fled big cities to go back to rural places which may not have coverage. All those that can't pay their bills may have been cut off, especially if they are not tied in to a long term contract. Too many unknowns.

I posted this a while back about a guy wanted to infect people because he was infected. He infected a young girl. Her condition is not know. My guess after he went to the hospital and found who he was, well either... I hope he didn't infect people at the hospital.

Not much people there , compare to any other 11 million city outside China....even milan which is also in quarantine have more life and is much smaller population than Wuhan ( 1 379 000 )

I just found out even though Illinois is shelter in place my company has been deemed essential

I have several friends in Illinois and they all must continue working. One of them works at a used car dealership. A place currently just needs to declare they are necessary . The game stop way .

The USA will not truly shut down until the hospitals are past a critical stage and millions more are infected needing care .

You know when it’s too late .

At this point, we are aware that US Senators with good intelligence knew that this virus is much worse than they told us.
I suppose that the leaders of other countries were in a similar position as far as what they knew.
We have been lead to this position. They knew what this virus was doing in China, and they told us that this was ‘just a flu’.
Now here we are with empty grocery shelves, no PPE... even for healthcare workers.
It looks like we have been set up for this big fail.
I guess we would all like to know why they did it, but does it even matter at this point?
Just like the question of whether or not this virus is a bio weapon, what difference does it make?

I can still be pissed off about it though.

There is life in Hong Kong....a lot traffic, lights in the buildings...quite different than in Wuhan

This is strange. I have been watching coronavirus.1point3acres.com...
this morning. Refreshing every few minutes. The total for the US has gone up by 2. However, it is still saying +0 for the day. Are they adding to the total, but not adding to the day, so the overall for the day does not look as high?

I was looking back through some of the video. There were 3 guys in Tyvec near a truck outside one of the hospitals. I thought the makeshift hospitals were all empty. Why were they suited up then?
