Sure, and we would need to know how many years all these doctors were working, and where they have been working. And how many doctors even think this in the first place. Likewise people's memories aren't perfect, many biases and errors.

Yes. You are correct. It is purely anecdotal. I know this. What does it change? The cases are not used in any of the statistics.

The passes are probably NHS essential worker passes; they have always existed.

Sean Peyton, Head coach of the saints has tested positive.

saints

Peyton tweets "4 more days at home" that's a curious way to look at this for someone allegedly testing positive. I'd think it would be more of a "I'm stuck here at home until 14 days after my first negative test" but then that message would actually gel with some of the officially blessed narratives and, if there's one thing we can be sure of, we can be sure that all messages surrounding this alleged pandemic must be as mixed and confusing as possible...

It is terrifying to see all those young people partying on the beaches in the US, nobody worried about the virus. In some regions in Europe, northern Italy, esatern France, doctors have to decide who is going to live and who is going to die because the hospitals are over run, not enough equipment, no more masks, ... heavy treatment, patients must be put in artificial coma. Another problem is that doctors and nurses also get infected, so less people to run the hospital. And it is only the begining!

Talked to someone who works in an er at a major hospital today . They were just trying to raise a red flag with me about this virus . Thankfully I have been following this here on ats since Jan so I knew how dangerous and contagious it is. I mentioned the fact America doesn’t have enough ventilators or icu beds and their response was enough to tell me this is well known in the medical community across America .

Sadly the young millennials who pretend like this isn’t a big deal and are not practicing social distancing, are the ones who will be chosen over the older population if it came down to it .

I’m still working as many Americans are and one thing I have noticed being out of the house . Older people are just a guilty as anyone about heading out. People still think they need their morning gas station coffee , when their 65+ ass should be home .

Stay safe people .

an update from Germany if you're interested

The situation is bad and will only get worse in the days and weeks to come. The disease is spreading at an alarming rate, doubling every 2.9 days and is thus moving faster than in Spain, France or even Italy.
Germany has over 15.000 confirmed cases at this point spread throughout the entire country. I don't think it's official yet, but at this point, every single rural district and district free cities have cases of the disease.
Things are not just bad in this or that particular place and officials can mitigate through containment efforts. The disease is already in every region of Germany and numbers are climbing exponentially.

So far the (comparatively excellent) public health system has not been overwhelmed anywhere. Hospitals are still able to keep up with the influx of patients. But it's clear that Germany like many other countries is only in the first stages of this outbreak and there is a very real possibility of shortages and triage measures as the situation evolves.
Testing also sorta worked, but can't keep up with the demand anymore. It's also pointless since mass tests of 83 million people are impossible.

On the bright side (i guess), the political response to the crisis has actually been improving as things get worse.
Germany was very reluctant at first to combat this disease. Like many other nations, German officials basically ignored what was happening in China, assuring the public everyone was a-okay, the disease would never reach Germany and when it did, it would be successfully contained.
They had an early outbreak in Bavaria in January which they did manage to contain (there is speculation that this outbreak caused the outbreak in northern Italy, but I don't think that's true), but their measures proofed highly inadequate once the Italian wave hit them.
As Germany is a federal state (the federal government has very little authority in such matter, civil protection is handled by the states), the initial response was reluctant, uncoordinated and well behind the curve. It took the politicians way too long to even acknowledge the situation in Northern Italy and there was great hesitation to act as decisively as other European nations have.

Luckily this changed by mid of last week. I no small part thanks to the Minister-President of Bavaria, Markus Söder who has emerged as a sorta decisive leader in the crisis. He's been leading the charge in implementing drastic lockdown measures in Bavaria and has basically dragged the other states and the federal government along.

At this point, the rest of the country (politicians and officials at least) have thankfully caught up and the public life in Germany is significantly reduced. A complete lockdown like they have in France has not been implemented yet, but it seems only a matter of time. Merkel (who made two speeches on TV this week telling everyone what they already know, yay i guess) will meet with the states on the weekend and come Monday there will very likely be a complete lockdown.

On the not so bright side, never let a good crisis go to waste as they say. Turns out Germany's basic law (constitution) is woefully inadequate to handle the crisis (not very surprising, has been known for years but of ignored by the politicians). There are no suitable mechanisms to ensure continuity of government in a public health crisis like this. Since wartime regulations are not applicable, there's the not so trivial question of how the Bundestag (German Parliament) can continue to function. A number of parliamentarians have already been infected (they basically need to quarantine an entire opposition faction at this point) and they are supposed to meet next week to pass a variety of emergency acts to save the economy and stuff like that (lol on that but alas).
If more parliamentarians get infected and the Bundestag is unable to meet, they are headed for a constitutional crisis on top of an economic meltdown and a public health emergency. As things stand, the current plan discussed seems to be to meet again in full and immediately amend the basic law to enable the Gemeinsamer Ausschuss (Joint Committee) to take over legislative powers. The Joint Committee consists of 48 Members of the Bundestag and Bundesrat and they are supposed to ensure the functions of the legislative branch during wartime only.
Obviously there is unease over this (at this point potential move) as it could have some rather drastic long term implications on the constitutional side.
It also can be quite alarming to see how easily basic rights are being suspended at the moment. I fear there are many politicians who would like nothing more than to keep some of them suspended indefinitely.
But who cares about such things in times like this?

Let us begin in Florida, where Trumpian Governor Ron DiSantis seems as baffled by this whole pandemic thing as his hero and role model in Washington is. He closed nightclubs for 30 days, but he left the beaches open, thereby guaranteeing a whole medley of drunk-young-folks videos to entertain us shut-ins elsewhere. So local mayors and city councils and Moondoggies In Chief took on the public-health duties themselves.

It Took Until This Morning for Ron DiSantis to Stop Dithering

Someone else posted this just now, but I mentioned it in a previous post yesterday. So it’s gone from ‘just a cold, make sure you wash your hands’ to ‘season flu is more dangerous, look at the Chinese numbers’ to ‘it will affect the elderly and vulnerable, be prepared to say goodbye to your loved ones’ , to ‘pre existing medical conditions’ , now to this:
www.ctvnews.ca...

‘Of the 508 patients known to have been hospitalized, 20% were notably younger — between ages 20 and 44, while 18% were between ages 45 and 54, the report says. The highest percentage of hospitalized patients was at 26% between ages 65 and 84.

A top US health official cautioned young people to be wary of the coronavirus pandemic even though they do not fall in the highest risk groups.
The coronavirus task force is concerned about reports indicating more young people are becoming seriously ill from the coronavirus, Dr. Deborah Birx said during Wednesday's briefing at the White House.

It suggests they may have continued to be exposed to the virus because they weren't concerned about being at risk, she said.’

Can people please stop posting and quoting official numbers like this is nothing. Can you not see you’ve been lied to over and over again since this first came out in January?

Trump is now outwardly blaming China for the virus which also suggests it’s a bioweapon. He mentioned earlier that they didn’t give the world a head start - Why did they try to hide it, and silence the whistleblower Dr?

Foolish people will continue to swallow anything the MSM throws at them, it all seems to fall on deaf ears.

Can we just admit to ourselves that this isn’t what you’ve been told it is? Maybe that’s a good start...

Cue the ‘Well he MUST have had an underlying health condition because the Chinese numbers suggest only 0.2% of under 40 year olds died of it’ etc etc

Claiming it’s a bioweapon helps because it shows that no one on this planet has an idea of how bad it really is. The world On lock down suggests the government KNOW this is really bad. Maybe it helps because it helps to raise awareness to the people who haven’t bought any supplies and are now left without basics because people quoting incorrect numbers and lies the MSM feed them has misled these people??

Maybe awareness helps in this situation.

But no, go on, it doesn’t matter. It’s just another seasonal flu. Don’t worry about supplies, this all an overreaction.

Maybe it helps to know the MSM and government lie to us and aren’t serving our best interests.

Wake up for god sake.

TPTB are Lying to the Public Over the Degree of the Life Threating Severity of the Coronavirus . It is in Reality LESS Lethal than the Common Flu . Granted , People with Current Health Problems are more than Likely to Expire if conrtracting the Coronavirus due to their Already Weakened Immune Systems , but those in Good Health should be Able to Remove it from their Systems Naturally .

What a joke comment from Phage. It doesn’t matter actually he’s right, it’s fine the MSM and government are lying to us. It’s fine the numbers are skewed. It’s fine multitudes if people are underestimating it based on this information and therefore dying and being left without supplies in a period which the world HAS NEVER been in.

People trying to act intelligent missing the point. Joker.

Wouldn't it be better to infect every single person, whoever dies, dies and once everyone are immune, gg free country, everyone can do whatever they want because they can't get infected? Everything will be open and working and most importantly everyone can come infected or not cos it won't matter.

Some country should try it as an experiment to see what happens.
