Here you have it:

The Vatican has confirmed in a statement that Pope Francis and two of his aides have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

Pope Francis missed a planned Mass with clergy in Rome yesterday after showing Coronavirus-like symptoms.

The Vatican had earlier said the pontiff, 83, had a slight indisposition and could proceed with the rest of his planned work today.

The pope and his aides have been quarantined and receiving medical attention near Santa Marta, the Vatican hotel where he lives.

The pope was seen coughing and blowing his nose during the Asha Wednesday Mass.

That is massive news if true.
I said in the last part of this thread he should have listened to his advisers who told him not to go out kissing people the other day

There went any meaningful content from China anymore...

Turns out it's not that Internet in #China will be shut down on Mar 1, but the strictest internet info control will take effect. Anything can become "illegal" including making "improper comments on natural disasters and big events". Anyone creating & copying contents is...

So CCP can say whatever the hell they want about the virus and we may not ever know different.

My wife had a big fight with her mother about it today, her poor mother is so brainwashed that she thinks there’s zero new cases in her city when every hospital is full and turning patients away.

Yeah I have wondered that too - there is a huge focus on isolation and quarantine, closing borders and closing off. It could all be some huge experiment to see how we all react to these things and loss of freedom - even if it is temporary.

One thing that is interesting is now we are told to not be in close contact with people - handshakes, cheek kisses, hugs, no crowds, large gatherings, protests etc etc due to the virus. Now of course, that makes sense when (if?!) you are dealing with a deadly virus of unknown origin, but you have to wonder, what will society look like once that is (hopefully) over?

Will we ever be the same again? Now I know that sounds very dramatic, but it could change the way we see people. Anyone could be a carrier (as we know the virus is contagious without symptoms) and so there is a lack of trust there - a fear of others and strangers. Hopefully that is not the case, but I too am concerned about us giving up freedoms - asking to be isolated in a way- and possibly changing how we live and interact with others long term.

What do you mean OMG? He's just a guy. He's nothing important, he sits in front of a sculpture that looks like it was raised from the depths of hell (if you believe in such nonsense) while proclaiming to represent the opposite. His position, nor that of any of his predecessors is never even mention in any of the scriptures. He's just a man, a con man. Couldn't happen to a better man.

The residents are more vulnerable as they are old. Their odds of dying depend on their age and their underlying comorbidities; even then, their odds of death don't approach 50% unless they develop critical cases of the disease where critical does not mean severe, but is worse than severe.

This is a fake news source and has been debunked. The Pope is sick and there was no comment on if he was tested. Throw that source in the circular file. It's false. Sorry. Lots out there now.

I'm more concerned that he was out hugging & kissing his followers just the other day - sure hope he's not gonna be another super spreader!

One thing that would be interesting to study would be how this thing spreads in countries with different concepts of personal space and if that makes a different to it or not.
