I've been seeing more than a few countries claiming we are the source of their recent cases. I believe Chile is one of the countries that instituted a travel ban from the USA, iirc.

RE: a bunch of posts.
I want to chime in on several things, some particular to the US.
Subject to change given contradicting information: I sincerely believe US testing was hampered by the difficulties of creating a test that had a good "false negative" performance, given the mutations and strains.
Now that testing is rolling out, we will get additional insight into both the disease and extend of current spead. But, personally this is not of much value. If you accept that day 1 is not contagious, day 2-4 are asymptomatic contagious, day 5 is symptom onset, everyone needs to be treated as asymptomatic infectious.
If you get a mild case, knowing by a test that it is COVID19 doesnt change much, if you need to assume everone is a potential asymptomatic carrier, yourself included. Preparation to handle the severe cases does need to be the priority of all levels of government, down to and including the individuals themselves.
As to the lockdowns that were not done before, or may be done in the futire, they probably only effect the timing. Even the North Korean approach of shooting everyone that may have symptoms (and everyone they contacted) still will only delay the inevitable. It only takes one case to slip through the fence.
A note to some lurkers who dont quite know what to think about this thread, or think it is silly: read between the lines. The posts here any not panic or fancy, rather they are very controlled evaluation of the unfolding situation, and measured preparation.

I have been hearing about plans to shutter schools for 14 days, as that is past the 9 days it can live on surfaces. I hope that is not true, because it is stupid.
You have someone infected at the school, he/she infects others before school closes.
14 days later, they are still in incubation or just starting with symptoms. School is clean, until the new carrier comes in.
Rinse, repeat as desired.
AVON, Ind. (WISH) — An elementary school student in Avon has tested positive for coronavirus, prompting the entire school district to have an e-learning day on Monday.
The Hendricks County Health Department on Sunday night notified the school district that a student who attends Hickory Elementary received the positive test result late Sunday and shared it with the district.
The state health commissioner and the Hendricks County Health Department have recommended that Hickory Elementary School be closed for two weeks. Students and staff will return after spring break, on April 6.
If confirmed by the Indiana State Department of Health, the child would be the third person in Indiana to have tested positive for coronavirus. Two people who traveled to Boston in late February to attend a BioGen conference have also tested positive.
China still has infections spreading and people dying, they are just doing everything possible to cover it up.

It may contain.... sorry I won't post on this till the facts are in .
Could you please stop doing that? Your posts tend to read like effing cliffhanger episodes and Choose your Adventure children's books. It's irritating and rude. Either say what you have to say or don't, enough of this halfway in... nope, gonna pull back out horsesnip.
