Ah, that may explain the announcement I just got, my district has cancelled todays middle school sports games today, no reason given.
This is moving so damned fast.

A cultural need to socialise is what will spread this virus much more easily. The UK, Germany, Nordic countries with their pubs; Mediterranean countries with their cafés, bars, pizzerias, etc., are the perfect hotspots to promote infection.
The depression people will fall into, in the event of quarantining, will be more devastating, long-term, than the virus itself.

What's with CDC abruptly cancelling today's conference?
twitter.com...

Was our conference anything like this? No.
it was a bad joke.
And the other tweets and videos of Trump basically saying everything was 100% under control were pathetic - and a danger to American citizens.

So with 5 deaths today, one yesterday bringing the total to 6. Out of 96 confirmed cases, that is 5.2%
I thought people were saying that the mortality rate would be much lower in the US because of better medical care?
Last I knew 5.2% is higher than 3.4%.
Last week a Lancet study found that only Egypt, Algeria and South Africa had "the most prepared health systems in the continent" to handle the virus.
South Africa announced that 151 of its citizens trapped in China's Wuhan city, would be evacuated and placed in quarantine for 21 days.

That’s some expensive rice out there, especially when most of it is grown in NorCal. Here in the south it’s $8.00 for 20# bag.
the only rice sacks I get is
brand: Basmati
kind: Jasmine
I got one of those bulk rices from Sam's Club... however, there was storeroom with moths bothering me for over 3 weeks that were born from insect eggs in the burlap & plastic sack of rice
I know I get 2 lb bags of rice from BI-LO or Walmart grocery, but the sealed plastic bag does not allow the insects to hatch unless given a supply of air... watch the insects appear in those bags of rice then escape to fly around for the better part of a month...
be devoted to washing/rinsing rice before you use the rice or beans because the packaging comes contaminated with pre-born moths from the product packaging facility...not your home pantry or grocery store seller
bulk rates of .90 cents to $1 pound is reasonable to me, for rice,,,, but 50 lb for $16+tax...?? is this bulk rice from that Puerto Rico hurricane supplies store from 3 years ago? along with 2 million bottles of water not doled out to victims?
sounds weird
Yeah I've been seeing the prices others on here have been quoting for things like 50lb bags of rice and I'm over here in shock. Ours better be some damn nice rice!
At the local Sam's Club the other day, I saw 50 lb. bags of rice for $16. Didn't get any, though, because I don't think I can eat that much rice!
