What we have to realize is that if we know the double dealing of Turkey then so do the Western allies of NATO and they are doing little, as far as we can see, to stop Turkey from supporting ISIS.

What that tells me is that this is likely a part of a covert operation and that it is Turkey who is the one designated to be the cut-out that supports ISIS.

Look at France; they aren’t dealing with Turkey and their clear support of ISIS

Why not?

So what does that tell us?

That there something going on we don’t know.

The US has been the biggest terrorist creation/support network over the last few decades. It's just that it is called a different name and the average US citizen does not see it through their blindly patriotic glasses.

I too was surprised, that Turkey could bring down a Russian jet BUT a reliable source said that Turkey was on self defense.
I thought that the Turkish defense council would have policed the Russian jet out of their territory with their F16 anti-missile jet
without causing any harm. From the news that i read in my thread on ATS, Two journalists were arrested for publishing news that is fake about Turkey on Arms and ammunitions supply. Some writers also said that Erdogan is a dictator and that he rigged the last elections. I feel that the Turkish people had the fear that the Russians and the Americans wanted to change the government of Erdogan at all cost and so they fought back to prevent the takeover by attacking the Americans and shooting down the Russian Jet. We must be calm at this moment inorder not to cause a bloody war because i cannot imagine Turkey fighting with two worlds super power at the same time.

The prevailing wind currents would carry any fallout straight to Crimea and Krasnodar. Not going to happen.

I love these morons ... what are you going to do, if Russia decide to Nuke Turkey?

Will you take your children out, and your entire family and shoot them in the back of the head to demonstrate your solidarity to Turkey? Do you really think, that the populace of Europe is going to ALLOW it's leaders to put our children in that position?

We'll take our leaders out, and hang'em ... long before we allow anything to escalate to that degree. We may be sheep, but we ain't that much a sheep.

We have been hostages for over 70 years, because the US dropped a bomb on Nagazaki and Hiroshima. Make no mistake, that we have "listened" to and agreed on ALL of US's intentions, ONLY and ONLY because we are hostages. We know, the US is the only nation to use it ... not even the Nazis were mad enough to use it. They weren't even crazy enough to use chemicals or biological weaponry. The US has, post WWII.

There are three nations, that hold us hostage ... the US, Russia and China. Each of these, has an arsenal and capability to erase life on earth. Even if they only get to use 10% of their arsenal, we're dead none the less. Russia and China, counter balance the US ... well, most hope. Neither France or England, Pakistan or India have any say here ... their arsenal will only ensure their own annihilation.

So, what are you going to do? You're going to do like the rest of us have been doing for the past 70 years, pee in your panties and cry yourself to sleep.

Fortunately to us, the only nation that has shown the mental instability to literally use these weapons ... is the US. So, we're not afraid of the Russians. They talk about it, and that's a good thing ... because they'll talk themselves out of using one.

For Russia, the area known as Turkmen Mountain, or heights – which Turks call Bayirbucak – north of Latakia province, is a major target. Because that’s where we find the Weapon Highway – through which Ankara, side by side with the CIA, weaponizes these militias. For Russia, any possibility of militias allied with Salafis and Salafi-jihadis trying to make a push to conquer overwhelmingly Alawite Latakia province is a red line because this would threaten Russia’s airbase at Khmeimim and eventually even the port of Tartus. So essentially we have CIA weaponizing – those famous TOW anti-tank missiles – using a smuggling route through Turkmen territory which happens to be an al-Qaeda in Syria-run Ankara power base. This is prime territory for U.S., Turkey and Saudi Arabia to undermine Damascus, and most of all prime proxy war territory: NATO (U.S.-Turkey) against Russia. The CIA spins the TOWs go to 45 “vetted” – thus “moderate rebel” – outfits. Nonsense; the weapons have been seized by the more experienced jihadis of al-Qaida in Syria, as well as the nebulae known as the Army of Conquest, supported by Saudi Arabia. So to smash Jabhat al-Nusra and the Army of Conquest for good, Russia started to bomb the Turkmen smugglers, which are hardly “moderates;” they are infiltrated all over by Turkish Islamo-fascists – such as the ones who machine-gunned Russian pilot Lt. Col Oleg Pershin as he was parachuting, a war crime according to the Geneva Conventions. The stakes for Russia couldn’t be heavier because by using Turkmen tribals, Turkey is already planted deep inside northern Syria.

Turkey did not stab Russia in the back, it made good on a promise. Putin would not have bargained in good faith if he was afraid of losing his airbase. All he understands is force and violence.

Well, we all know that Turkey with that pro islamic government and especially president, has been a supporter of ISIS and it's fighters. All the recruiting of the new fighters coming from European countries happens in Turkey, smuggling of weapons and the people happens in Turkey, the huge wave of refuges was dumped into Europe from Turkey...No surprise here. They are in the same bed with ISIS and NATO should take a better look into this and kick this rats out. Especially when they make their stance pretty clear:

the following material supports my previous comment in this thread

Turkish Supported Jihadist Group Shells Russian Base in Syria

Ahrar al-Sham claims to have shelled Russia’s Hmeimim Air Base near Latakia, Syria. A video of the cannonade was posted to Youtube on Friday. “Over 200 Ahrar al-Sham terrorists have joined Al-Nusra Front in the past three days, but only 13 of them have acknowledged,” the Arabic-language Al-Watan newspaper quoted an Ahrar al-Sham source as saying in mid-October. Al-Sham controls Bab al-Hawa, a crossing between Turkey and Syria’s jihadist-held areas. Turkey uses the border crossing to transfer weapons and money to jihadist groups.

t’s absolutely impossible to understand why the Turkish government would engage in the suicidal strategy of downing a Russian Su-24 over Syrian territory – technically a NATO declaration of war on Russia – without putting in context the Turkish power play in northern Syria.

Ankara uses, finances, and weaponizes a basket case of extremist outfits across northern Syria, and needs by all means to keep supply line corridors from southern Turkey open for them; after all they need to conquer Aleppo, which would open the way for Ankara’s Holy Grail: regime change in Damascus.

Something I didn't notice in all these reports and stories; What kind of missile was used by the Turks to shoot down the Russian plane?

I'm thinking either a Sidewinder or a Sparrow, but, none of the stories I've seen able to find state which...any of y'all have any ideas
