A place were members research all the important events to peel back the official narratives, and reveal what really happened.

Bill any chance of a yes? Understand if you can't get to it soon, but let us know if you can fit it into the pipeline down the track?

I think it is more imperative than ever that a History forum is created for the site. I'm seeing a lot of false and inaccurate information being spread on the board and, like the OP, would like to contribute to it in hopes of educating some members that may have fallen asleep on the history books.

I totally agree!

For some odd reason I was a buff of WWII publications in the 60s. There are general assumptions about WWII that I question, as well as individuals that are overblown and others that get short-shrift.

Add in the revisionist mentality of today's academia and a history forum would be delightful!

Surely you should find a history chat forum then if you'd like to discuss historical events?

I'm sure there are plenty of sites out there that accommodate this. ATS has moved a LONG way away from what their core values were originally. It's time for a lot LESS forums, not MORE.

Remember when ATS used to be a conspiracy theory site?

The most underrated person in the whole of World War 2 has got to be Alan Turing. Churchill called him "the person who made a bigger contribution to winning the war than any other individual", and very, very few people even know who he is.

If they HAVE heard his name, they don't know WHAT he did.

Sorry but there is demand for this.

ATS is a business first of all and a business gives the customers what they want.

If ATS want to cut forums they can ditch the 2012 forums ect.

So lets ignore and disregard ALL History in case some of it isn't right?
Stop any chance of discussing history to uncover and learn?

Where should I cue up to burn all my books?

No, but ATS has already become over convoluted and is NOT the place for discussion about historical events.

Now, if you want to discuss possible conspiracy theories around historical events, I'm all for that, but you'd better have some pretty good irrefutable documentation if you want to challenge "official" history.

I can see discussions around things like "The Assassination of Julius Caesar", "The laughable idea that Elizabeth I was a 'virgin Queen' ", "Did William Shakespeare actually write his plays", those sorts of ideas.

The majority think otherwise.

Anyway who cares ? If you dont like it DON'T BLOODY VISIT THE HISTORY FORUM!!!!!!!!

I don't like religious topics so guess what I avoid those forums!

I wouldn't say I get emotionally upset, but it certainly makes me wonder at the amount of human knowledge that was destroyed in this one action, that we've never been able to retrieve.
