So, instead of being inspired by Brand (regardless of who/what he is) and starting to come up with solutions, we decide to continue the same division that allows small groups to profit off of everyone else.
His basic point to me is;
There are problems with how we run things. How can we run things differently to do better?
Who cares who Brand is? He is just a part of the same system the rest of us are involved with. Focusing on him instead of working towards a better tomorrow might just be the type of perspective that got us here in the first place..

If you will, try making the thread title for your think tank more dramatic to catch people's eye. Something like, "Peaceful Revolution Think Tank: if we put our minds together, any problem can be solved." I would love to see a 100 page thread with everyone constructively contributing.
We don't need a leader. The need for a leader comes out of fear. We need teamwork, and the will to get things done instead of talking about how great it'd be if it happened. Example, people coming together and creating farming communities. So self sufficient that they won't use money. If it spread enough, it would be a peaceful revolution and everyone in government would be out of the job

I like Russell Brand I think he's funny and sharp minded and if we had a system where he could stand for election as leader of my country I would vote for him .
It is time for a revolution but the people of this country are drowning in apathy , spoon fed their news and lobotomised by what passes for entertainment .... the revolution will not be televised because no one can be bothered to start it .

Yea I agree communism isn't the answer, but at least he might possibly wake some people up. The second video is better IMO, he tells the hosts flat out that its wrong to objectify people. He mentions the medias influence on consciousness, and how they negatively affect it by manipulating the information in order to fit an agenda. The second video is on someone's comment on the first page.

OK, when he gets going he is an eloquent speaker, however what he is calling for is forced ground leveling, I.e. communism which does not serve the need for innovation. When has any communist society ever been interested in pushing the boundaries of human experience. Yet the rhetoric which he calls for embodies this, and with the underlying theocracy he espouses, it is nothing more than an oxymoron.

Thanks, will do friend
True, but who would decide what the priorities of the people are? Voting? There is a lot of room for corruption to eventually creep in. In my opinion, when money is no more corruption will be no more. Stealing would cease to exist because if it were done correctly, their would be abundance. Treatable mental illness would lower because stress would lower.

You know, the only thing that has ever been wrong with communist or socialist based societies, is that they have never been correctly or fairly administrated. Power, remains with the powerful, it's just the faces that change.
However, if a totally distributed system were to be devised, where no one had more power, influence, or money, than anyone else, then things would develop according to the priorities of the people, rather than large corporations.
