Can we add each other as friends on this site? Yes for sure. I've seen readings all over the Internet about a golden age of consciousness, and we have to put forth effort and will to turn this into reality for all on this planet. Like an Indian chief said, "We are the ones we've been waiting for."

Yes and other great dictators were "good at waking people up" also. It does not mean they were right, or ethical in what they are saying.

He wants to live in the utopian society where everyone is equal, and where the rich pay to support the poor. The problem is in his words there is not rich or poor. so no one pays for anyone, and there is the dichotomy. This type of communist mentality only works in a plutocracy. it sounds like heaven, but in actual fact, those that you wish to redistribute the wealth of have long since gone. Who else is left to tax

MY solution is more radical, challenge the whole concept of tax. WHY do we have to pay, really, someone give m e an answer. and beware I have not been required to pay for the last 8 years.

Privatisation has been ruining my country for a while now. Bits of the NHS, our gas companies, which are currently GUTTING our nations poor, holding us all to ransom because no one has any damned control over them at all any more, same with other energy concerns, our prisons, our damned TAX OFFICE FOR GODS SAKE, bits of some, and all of others, privatised and left in the hands of a totally profit driven, traitorous bunch of dogs with no morals, and no love for the people they are supposed to serve.

We have no power to change these things, because the power, is where the damned money is, and only a very small percentage of people have any worth a damn. All the regulators are in the industries they regulate, all the politicians get where they are because they either kissed the right rings, or bought the right shares, and STILL no matter who we vote for, no matter what we do, it only gets worse.

Change within this system has yielded nothing for the people, not a damn thing. Crushing it and rebuilding it with totally different functions and safeguards however, might just prove the key, and to my mind, trying something different would at least be better than capitulating to a cancerous hegemony, cowering before our fates like animals, as we are today, and will be tomorrow, unless we stop this cycle.

I already adored Russel....

But Jesus Christ.

I

ADORE

him.

One of my favorite people... he doesn't know much about politics? My ass.

He knows more than I do, for damn sure.

I'm starting to like this bloke and what he has to say. Also a couple of my friends who aren't into this stuff have really taken notice of what he's saying.

Peace!

I am British also.

the country cannot continue to hold the weight of "the poor". those that work, are getting to the point they cannot pay enough to pay for "the poors demands" Seriously now, live i Mexico, the UK has not clue what poor it. If you want to see what poor is look to the guys selling the big issue. THAT is real every day life in Mexico.

Stop being soft, stop making excuses. Ohh i grew up in a deprive town. Rubbish, every kid has the same chances as I did, It comes down to grit and determination.

Ohh but you have opportunities

No, I had the will to make my way, and never take a penny from the state. I never thought about it, yet I despair at those to whom it is a "life line". Really a life life. How about you make you own living like so many others in the workd. and make your own way. Why, should you expect anyone else to support you???

"This is no longer becoming an American problem, its the same in the UK, Canada, most western society seems to be marching toward a very dark place."

You know what I consider very odd..? There are very smart scientist and in particular economist who have made it their lives work to figure out how to protect a country its economy .....and still they fail. As if there are (protected) forces at work which are succesfully draining the prosper out of a country when things are going fine. It seems that there is an economic crisis each 5-8 years in the country I live.

I really like Brand ever since he appeared on Question Time. He is very abrupt and articulate and i love his ideas to get us normal folk out of this cesspit of corrupt times.

However, it is too late. This is a fact. Our societies are driven by capitalism and by proxy, that is the wall we cannot get over as it is guarded by the very thing that guards us. The police, the military, the enforcers of order are given money and are bound by capitalism to protect capitalism.

The cream that rose to the top and proudly sits there now counting their billions got there over generations and over that time have spun an unfathomable wall of protection against their interests. A wall that is impossible to break down even IF we decided to rise up. YOU may rise up but rest assured for every one person to rebel against the system at least 2 more wont and that's because of the fear of money loss.

Sad times... unless you are in the 1%

Ill send a U2U (Private Message) when the site is getting closer to being live. There seem to be some issues around the system because the site was updated recently, but you can check your messages with one of the buttons on the top bar. There are a couple of people I will definitely let know when it launches.

You are more than welcome to look through the posts in my signature to get an overall idea of the topics I think can be covered, at least as a starting point. If you want to talk about it further, feel free to send me a message or reply on a thread! (To send me a message, look at my name/avater area and you will see a little person in the lower left of the box. Click it, and it will bring up some options, one of them being send a message, and another is to add friends, etc).

Some are quick to dismiss it as idealism, but if we arent working towards a conscious ideal, what are we working towards and who is driving?

For any revolution to take place the majority of the sleeping patriots must awake, and they are not. It will take an event of some proportion to get them away from the TV or whatever. The frontline of the next domestic confrontation is basically set and the players are on watch but there needs to be much awakening. You hear of buying weapons at stores and etc, and this gives the sleeping group comfort knowing their grand government has their back which is far from true. Libs, dems and socialist want to run your life from cradle to grave, but there are certain obstacles in their way ( such as the 2nd ammendment, which supports the 1st ammendment) They remove such rights of support and the rest fall like dominos. Any fool who does not see this coming may awake too late, hopefully the alarm clock is wound-up. The basic mindset for the 2nd ammend is solid no matter if it is 1779 or 2779, without it you have no freedoms at all, just dilusions...

How many people revolted in the American Revolution?

Three percent.

----------------

as to the video in the OP - voting for what? One puppet or another puppet?

In my country, Canada - who do I have to chose from?

Harper - Globalist
Trudeau - Socialist like his father (but hey, lets call myself a Liberal so not to scare people)
Mulcair - Socialist

Our "democracy" is a complete failure. You have the elite who buy politicians to make laws that benefit them, and the lower class - who are slaved by social programs. Vote for who will give you the most free stuff.....and the middle class - who is getting robbed to pay for the other two groups.

-----------------------

Will there be a revolution? Likely not, people are too comfortable right now and while most of the public are blinded by the illusion of choice, politicians are eliminating our rights and arming the police to the hilt.

Russell Brand is a very switched on spiritual guy, and remember what industry he's involved in. No doubt by now he's gone down the rabbit hole and it's scared the crap out of him. I think he's holding his tongue a bit in that interview and others he's done of late. There is a lot more he wants to disclose but he's taking his time, knowing that many are not awake yet.

just wait until he starts to talk about the real rulers and controllers. he'll need some good bodyguards then, because he'll be silenced like some of the others who dare speak the truth about the nature of human reality.

Go Russell, I've got your back brother.

Blessings to all *

Where did Russell Brand suddenly appear from? Who is this guy and why should anyone listen to him regardless of wit or intelligence? What's he done to make him worth listening to is what I'm asking?

He has done nothing to make him worth listening too. He's just another celebrity that thinks he knows politics.

With all due respect what you state is rubbish.
He articulated extremely well some of the issues faced by so many people and their lives as a results of current systems government, which just dont work, only for the few! Paxmen agreed with much of what he stated! And he is right that vote or not for current systems government is irrelevant and a waste of time!

He's not saying anything that dozens of people here on ATS hasn't said. Oh Paxman agreed with him that changes everything. Actually he is wrong about voting being irrelevant voting for the President is irrelevant but state level elections aren't.

Thanks, ill read up on your threads. Idealism has the word ideal in it for a reason, it's what we feel to be good for all. A situation in which everybody wins, a utopia of equal abundance. Most will be afraid to take the leap of faith at first. Until a few jump in and test the waters yelling the waters warm. They'll realize we're not here to accumulate possessions, instead we're here to develop kinship and meaningful experiences

The Scandinavians are pretty happy. They've figured out how to have Socialism without massive budget deficits. It can be done, and you don't have to turn into the USSR. Capitalism is what's causing mass poverty and slavery in the world right now, not socialism.

You had a point in the 80's but things have changed.

Well this is what I hear Russell saying "I'm unhappy with 'the system', I want a 'different system' but I don't know the details and I don't know how to get there."

Hey Russ, join the club!
