I think you shouldnt panic It's not healthy plus despite of all the doom and gloom you read on the forums nothing has happened yet, so keep calm. Dont let all this overwhelm you to the point where you lose control over yourself - running around scared yelling "the sky is falling" usually doesn't help. Even if it is falling (mostly because running around yelling won't keep it from falling ) . Fear can be a powerful survival tool if properly managed, keeps your instincts sharp and alert but will get you killed if you let it take control

My advice... take a break from the "news". Or if you can't, don't panic

I see no reason to "believe" anything.
I certainly do not and never will believe ANYTHING my government is trying to convince me to believe.
I mean, how many times do you have to get burned by that one before you wise up?

If our government was trying to pull a fast one then you could expect to see EXACTLY what you are seeing right now.

Unfortunately, what you are seeing right now is exactly what you would see if N. Korea had a leader whose cheese slid off his cracker and actually thought he could accomplish something by going to war with the U.S.

This may surprise you, but there are many other media sources that provide accurate information other than U.S. media sources. Try reading other source material. Not surprisingly, they are reporting the same thing.

There has not been a stable leader in Korea for a long while, and I am a bit surprised you find it hard to believe a 30 yo who is basically still a kid by all appearances, would spout the nonsense that is coming out of NK now. He knows full well that the U.S. will not attack NK unless provoked first, with an attack of their own. The end result is they can spout all sorts of blustery threats, and once they not attacked as a result, their leader can be crowned the next great thing for having stood up to the evil war machine of the U.S. I can see no benefits of attacking NK. It has nothing we want. We enjoy that happy buffer between us and China as much as China does.

But that's ok.. keep spouting your ridiculous nonsense. There is absolutely no conflict the U.S. can avoid completely, help with, or push themselves, without being accused of an evil agenda.

I must admit, original thought was, "I hope America kick their ass/wipe the floor with them." Things to that effect. It's true though, same as always. What reasons do we have to believe it? Legit video evidence of Lil' Kim saying this stuff on live tv would convince me. Otherwise I'll remain skeptical of the agenda behind releasing these media stories to the public. Possibly another false flag on the horizon?

You have no idea what NK is planning or isn't planning. You have no idea what our government is doing or isn't doing. But then you go and inject your dislike for rednecks. I thought I'd mention a couple things that might help perspective a little. On Military stuff, I believe there can be a world of difference between what North Korea "has" and what they actually HAVE. As my military thread showed a bit of, they have massive numbers of tanks, planes and other self propelled armor. That sounds scary Until you see that a good number of the tanks (up to a couple thousand) are Model 59's. These are museum pieces and quite literally *DO* sit in war museums around the world. It's THAT old. Their air force looks down right sickening ...on paper. Then you see how many of those numbers are presented by fighter/bombers that literally started their model's service around or just after the time of the LAST Korean war. It goes from scary to ...what is he thinking??

North Korean doctrine has always been the Soviet/PRC approach. High tech isn't as important as numbers. Intelligence of operators isn't as important as centralized command and control to tell them what to do with their weapons systems from a bunker miles or 10's of miles away. That's not a bad approach ...if the numbers are at least survivable systems on a modern battlefield.

So someone asked about submarines? Well... They did buy some Golf and Foxtrot type subs. A bunch in fact. Missile launch capability even.....at least there were cylindrical compartments where once a missile may have stood for use by another owner in the distant past. They bought literal salvage. Stripped hulls as far as electronics, control and any form of working fire control goes. Having the shell without the yolk just doesn't make a breakfast.


My fear has never been...CAN he win or even START to win like North Korea was doing for a time in the opening of the first Korean War. None of that matters. What matters is...does HE think he can win? Delusional or not, ignorant or not. It won't mean anything to Seoul when they have 170mm artillery falling like hail stones in a Texas thunderstorm. All that is trivia for the history books at that point ....and my fear is, he could believe he has "secret weapons" no one knows about (which he very well may actually..and specific to types..it's not a vague, general feeling) but that those would allow him to win. THAT part is just insanity on a stick.

Still tho.. If HE believes it, war may still happen and killing the loon will be small consolation to the dead. :
