Could you possibly give the source of the data? It is impossible to corroborate the data without this information. Thanks.

Yes! Sorry about that, silly me!

All the quakes aren't plotted (3 of 5 are still visible, 2 are now missing) but the website I used was atlas.pdc.org... The above picture was a screen shot taken maybe 5 minutes before my original post.

Hope this helps (P.S. my original post documents the 4th out of 5th quake, Ill see if I ca isolate the last one.)

Here is the fourth and last to be found quake on the original PDC image earthquake.usgs.gov...

I don't understand why they were removed though. PDC usually keeps there events for a decent amount of time, so for it to be gone not eve 12 hours later is a little strange.

Hope this helps.. So is this typical? or Just 'luck'?

Thanks I will have to take look later. We have serious connections problems at present. This page took 4 minutes to load, and the reply box took one minute.

Some won't load at all.

That is not a site I have come across before so I will take a look when I can.

Not particularly large, but it was kind of rare

ID: 201311092001
Date/Time: 09/11/2013 00:20:46
Lat: 8.0806 Long: 137.5755
Location: Western Caroline Island F_E Region 209
Magnitude: 5.2 Mb
Depth: 27.19 km
Catalog Source: - ANSS - Advanced National Seismic System

map below shows the Western Caroline Island F_E Region 209 and the historic M5+ earthquakes from ANSS 1963-the present time, that quake marked with a red star.
(click image for interactive map, opens in new tab/window)

Largest in the F-E 209 region, was 410km NE

Date/Time: 07/06/1966 13:59:34
Lat: 11.3 Long: 139.4
Magnitude: 6.88 Unk

last M5 within 100km

Date/Time: 25/02/2010 00:53:52
Lat: 8.315 Long: 137.703
Magnitude: 5.0 Mw

Largest within 100km

ID: 200208144040
Date/Time: 14/08/2002 13:12:40
Lat: 7.831 Long: 136.88
Magnitude: 6.3 Mw

I still can't believe no one has taken the Flinn–Engdahl regions pdf and created a Google Earth KML file yet, it would be a handy tool. If I was doing a geology or geography degree at University it would be an ideal thesis to work on, easy as if you have the tools (GPS Visualiser, Excel, Google Earth and Dropbox), but time consuming for sure.
As time goes on I'm getting a few together, if some area catches my interest I'll plot the ploygons, but I'll probably be dead by the time I get near completing all 757 regions

I hope not, my girlfriend is in Tokyo at the moment (normally lives in Osaka) and I have a lot of friends there.
I am always worried that the big one will occur (it will for sure, but I hope it never happens) when I read about quakes near Tokyo.
The first time I experienced a quake I just moved to Tokyo... it was my first night and apparently a really small one, nobody realized it except me.
I was already sleeping on my futon and immediatly jumped up and tried to get my pants. I really did not know if it is a strong on, if quakes last long, if they get stronger over time.... I was so clueless.
Fortunately my company gave us a lesson on EQ behavior on the next day, really useful.
But I was still pretty excited when it happened, I only experienced small ones, but somehow I was always scared and amazed at the same time.
It is somehow really scarry for me, but at the same time really amazing to experience a quake.
You start to realize how helpless you are, since you just can't control the movement.
I really enjoyed it to some point, but really hated it at the same time.
Complicated to explain.
And I am just happy, that I only experienced small ones...I guess I never really want to see a big one live. Must be pure horror

I am guessing that that was just happenstance and the fact that those were all in or on the edge of what they call a high earthquake intensity zone.

As far as disappearing goes from what I can see they are using the USGS Mag 2.5 1 day feed so no quake will be more than 24 hours old. I had to do a double take when I realised it is the 10th today and not the 11th, then I realised they are displaying US format dates - a sin I cannot forgive on any earthquake site. The ONLY format for earthquake site should be Asian format UTC (2013-11-10 05:15:09.0 UTC) if the site is purporting to be a global reporting site.

Well I am helping - doing my bit - and you actually have 3 less to worry about which means it will get done so much quicker

by the time I get near completing all 757 regions

3 are not used so you only have 754 to do!

Always interested in Japan.

This is the page I post the daily maps, which is a by-product of making the KMZ files to build the monthly map for Japan on eqarchives. That's a monster job, they have as many events in 2 months as New Zealand has in a year!.

They seem to know that one day it will happen, there is even a page on JMA set up for the "Tokai" quake
www.jma.go.jp...

I can't say I have ever seen anything on the Current Information page though.

Did you notice the popup tag when you click on the red frame of the F_E 209 region?

F_E 209 W. Caroline Islands, Micronesia
poly=13,131,13,141,12,141,12,142,3,142,3,131,13,131

with the polygon co-ordinates. Ties in with ANSS polygon search, simple copy and paste the line into ANSS polygon search and viola, historic earthquake results.
Thought that would be a handy tool. I've redone half of the 27 F_E regions of Japan like that so far.
You need to change the word poly to polygon or it won't work. I'll fix that on the KMZ file.

Kind of a busy night EQ wise in the center of US. 9 (or some are counting 11--including those UNDER 2.0) in Oklahoma. The largest a 3.3 at 5:07 am CT

earthquaketrack.com...

Probably nothing but wanted to document it and see what the experts here (i usually lurk!) say.

I agree, need to document what is going on in OK. Texas continues to chime in too but Oklahoma seems to be coming more frequent.

Are they all from fracking?

Is this a precursor to a bigger event?

Time will tell.

There have been at least 21 earthquakes around, or near Acadia Lake. This doesn't count the two days previous when the swarm began in that particular area. Around thirty, upward to 40 would be a more accurate count in total over the last couple weeks. And these newest are well away from Acadia Lake. They're not even that close to Liberty Lake or Gutherie Lake. If we compare this to Arkansas, and that man-made fault. It would seem to extend many kilometers. Meaning it could produce a 6 M or better. On a sedimentary crust. Keep pumping Oklahoma, they'll be no need for any experiments, causation will become proven after they analyse the disaster.

For decades, no wait, hundreds of years, "the area now known as Oklahoma", knew earthquakes only as rare, or if you prefer, uncommon events.
Now, they are the "New Norm". ( robin hates that cliché and runs away crying and screaming)

That site must be another USGS (Useless) feed
also from that site;

New Zealand has had:

0 earthquakes today
0 earthquakes in the past 7 days
1 earthquake in the past month
60 earthquakes in the past year

There has been a lot more than that, don't have the matching figures at hand right now they are on another computer, but there have been 563 earthquakes in NZ in the last 10 days and 1570 in October.

There were a lot more in that area you mentioned too.

Believe it or not that is actually a very difficult question for me to answer as I don't actually use ANY sites!

Just about the only tool I use for getting earthquakes is my own QVSData program. I don't have to open any web pages - not even have a browser open, just an internet connection, it refreshes every 5 minutes and the list has the dates in the right format. It covers all three of the main data providers and a few more as well all in one bundle I don't have to think about.

From the program I can get to all the IRIS seismograms, the NZ drums, LISS if it ever comes back and I have just about finished adding ALL the CERI network helicorders.

If I had to go and look at a web site I think that these days I would probably use the IRIS Seismic monitor with its excellent links into the IEB - BUT - I am an old curmudgeon and prefer lists. I have no iPad, iPhone, iGoodnesKnows or any other type of tablet an graphical displays do little for me but they do for others so I am the wrong person to ask really.

To all and sundry: I have added CERI. If there are any other helicorder/seismogram networks you would like me to add into the program let me know and I will see if they can be accommodated. CERI is fantastic - so much faster than all the clicks on the CERI site. Everything for CERI is arranged by State making it much easier to find.

CERI and many other changes will be in version 3.0.64.0 which will be out in a few days.
