Mass shooting in Aurora, CO (At Batman Film Premiere)

Lets not downplay the fact that people most definitely died and or were injured. We have a forum member here that was friends with two service men that were in that theater who did not report to their posts this morning. People are hurt and people have died.. Make no mistake. Please stop trying to spin this into something its not. We do not even have all the facts yet.

I'm compiling CONFIRMED facts on PAGE 67 OF THIS THREAD . Please review this before posting lies or unconfirmed data. If you have something to add to it, please pm me and I'll add it to that post.

IMHO, the member asked a good question. How did the victim's brother have time 1.) get notified in the chaos 2.) arrange flight to CO 3.) give on scene interviews and 4.) establish a memorial blog?

I assumed he meant 71 killed/injured but a clip ran again and he did say 71 shot. Figured it was a slip. It was on CNN.

Maybe he spoke the numbers twice in the press conference, otherwise there is some weird media stuff going on.

I call BS. The Ghawi's are actors.

It was NOT A KEVLAR HELM. It was a RIOT MASK. It was made of PLASTIC.

The only armor he had on was a vest, which would only POTENTIALLY stop .22-9mm bullets.

And seriously, if you had a target with a visible vest and a helm on, would you not shoot him in the knee?

My first shot would have been to the foot/leg/knee to stop him from making any kind of progression and to drop him lower than the seating. Furthermore, he was focused on a group, the group only had to focus on ONE. So anybody with a gun who managed to "escape" could have just circled around the back and entered the same way he did and shot him full of holes.

It's not "Action movie" material. It's called lateral thinking. I see a whole LOT of people who have never shot a fire arm assume what is and isn't a possible shot to make, let me tell you, it's much easier to shoot someone than you would think.

I mean seriously, just throwing shoes at him would have defeated him. If 71 people through 2 shoes each at him, for a total of 142 shoes thrown, he would have been bombarded by projectiles and overwhelmed, his vision would have been even more restricted and it would have been impossible to stop someone from coming up behind him and subduing him.

If everyone threw shoes, soda's, candy boxes as they ran out and anybody with a modicum of bravado decided to approach this man from the rear, it wouldn't have lasted anywhere near as bad.

Now lets give the crowd fire arms and see what would have happened. 1 person with a gun could have stopped that in 10 seconds or less. 5 people in the theater with guns would have made that a guarantee. Why you ask?

Well, A.) He's easy to see because of his muzzle flashes. B.) He doesn't know who has or doesn't have a firearm and cannot choose priority targets, nor can he see you in the dark theater whilst everyone COULD see him. C.) As soon as he was fired at, he would have had to scan for the shooter putting a stop to his senseless random shooting saving lives in the process. and D.) He would have been receiving shots from multiple directions.


It would have been IMPOSSIBLE for him to make it out alive if there was even FIVE pistols in that theater.

Go find the ENTIRE video, you posted a video that started in the middle. In the beginning he said 12 shot dead and 59 injured. Then he made a mistake and said 71 people shot.. he meant 71 victims... 71 people were NOT shot... and I'm going to laugh in your face when I prove you wrong.

I'm portraying this as a conspiracy because it reeks of Mk ULtra, go do your homework and come back and see me then. A man dressed up in riot gear opened fire with military style firearms at a midnight screening of batman, so yes, pardon me if I'm a bit apprehensive about this incident. And by the way, 'friends cousin' isn't All that convincing chief.

I'm very familiar with MK Ultra, I just don't think everything has to be a conspiracy theory .. I realize that people are capable of horrible things and I know it's human tendency to try to understand or explain something to make it easier to grasp .. Sometimes it's just not a conspiracy however, sometimes it's just the reality of life that individual people can do unspeakable things.. am I saying it's not MK Ultra? .. no I couldn't possibly say that any more than you can say it is ..

Really? You think a pro-gunner would change their stance if a loved one was a victim of gun violence? I had two acquaintances murdered with a common kitchen knife, but I still use one for my steaks. I've known several people killed in car accidents, but I still drive one. I had a friend of a friend killed on a motorcycle just last weekend, but I still rode mine later that day.

Its just another pathetic Yankee man with a gun.
No matter which way you look at this incident and try to make sence of it, it still comes down to a pathetic little [SNIP] with a gun killing innocent people.

So, To all you Americans that support gun rights and your right to bare arms, well i hope this was a lesson to you.

1) we don't know all the details, she may have had a friend there wiht her who reported it, or simply mentioned she was supposed to be there, they called, got no answer, the alarms went off.

Easy to call an airline, and get an emergency flight. From Tx to Col wouldn't be more than an hour or two. People do it for funerals all the time.

Do you have any facts to support this or is it just based on hate for Rush?

Also, if you dislike him so much, how do you even know he mentioned the film?
I don't really care for the guy really, so never listen to him.

It happened just after midnight .. it doesn't take long to arrange a flight and get to Colorado from where he was .. the scene with police and witnesses was still going on hours after the event.. and may still be going on for all I know.. but I know there were still crews and crowds there 8+ hours after it took place.. so he did have plenty of time to arrive and do interviews.

Setting up a blog takes no time whatsoever .. all you need is internet access and a few minutes .. there are a ton of blogging services.. you can go to wordpress.com for example and be blogging in just a couple of minutes.

There's NOTHING about it that is unrealistic or not possible.. it's all very easy in fact..

Where did you see that he only had on a Kevlar vest and riot mask? I have seen several reports that said he also had a throat and groin guard as well as protection for his extremities. I also have read reports of both riot masks and gas masks.

You can act like Rambo at a computer desk but the truth of the matter is, its not an issue of what you would or wouldn't do. There are other threads to discuss that. This is about the facts of the event, and dissecting the shooting and chain of events. Please keep the semantics and political banter for other threads.

After watching many interviews on tv, these victims seem fake or like they're acting, this girl red the Toronto shooting girl seems Mk ultra or CIA.

Bad CNN. Using the quote that sounds the worse (and maybe wrong) when only playing a short part of the interview.
