Fans are being censored at Rexall?Paying fans are being strong-armed by security in front of KIDS as they are "escorted" from the building?People cannot chant and wear their jerseys inside out?People cant express themselves in a peer policed environment?People are being DETAINED by GUARDS in security rooms until "things get sorted out" according to online reports?

This is worse than Russia or Afghanistan, worse than Somalia, and the men who endorse this are sick puppys.

YOU ARE SICK PUPPYS!!!

I will not watch another Oilers Hockey Game until this has been officially corrected in the Mainstream Media,I will not buy another ticket to a game,I will not wear my Jersey, hat, socks, use my coffee mug my license plate is coming off as are my Oilers decals from all of my vehicles, this is enough ,this IS THE END OF THE LINE FOR THIS GROUP OF SICKOS.

You WILL NOT ABUSE EDMONTON OILERS FANS AND CITIZENS OF MY CITY WITH MY SUPPORT.

I WILL NOT be a part of something that censors and mistreats and tries to freaking control regular everyday working men and women and does this in front of their children, and NO I WONT ACCEPT YOUR BS EXCUSES AND EXCUSATORY PASSING OF THE BUCK.

No ,No ,No Pal,you DO NOT ALLOW CENSORSHIP OF YOUR FANBASE NOT IN CANADA.

Someone missed the boat here and it is time to smarten up.

Do you think that this issue is the responsibilty of the Fans?

Do you think that this is the doing of simply "a few trouble makers"?

Wake up,Daryyl Katz is the cause of this mess, and I would like to know how he would feel if his son was ripped out of his comfort zone and ESCORTED BY SECURITY GUARDS WEARING BLACK UNIFORMS AND BLACK LEATHER GLOVES INTO A SECURITY ROOM WHILE THINGS WERE WORKED OUT TO TURF HIM OUT OF THE BUILDING .

There are KIDS ALL OVER REXALL DURING GAMES------ what kind of message are you trying to send here Daryyl?

CENSORSHIP??? CENSORSHIP IN EDMONTON THE HOME OF THE FREE???

No way Pal,this is the end of the road for me ,I am officially pulling out of this mess ,this is sickening.

This is not a few disgruntled Fans acting out, this is a major statement being made by the few who are brave enough and have enough self-respect to stand up to your strong-arm tactics,I dont care about the passing the buck to Rexall Administration or Facilities managment, you and your henchmen have crossed a line I am afraid you shouldnt have crossed.

Now you will need to openly fix this, you will need to admit to it and guarantee the City and Fanbase that this was YOUR MISTAKE and you will have to fix it,some things are not forgivable.

You are going TO SHUT UP THE FANS?

You cannot even run your business so you believe that the path of least resistance is to CENSOR THE FANBASE?

You target the FANBASE AT THE GAMES?

Does anyone in a position of responsibility within your Hockey organisation SEE what is happening here, what has ALREADY happened?

You know what is happening Darryl Katz and you are comfortable with it or you would be making moves to correct things.

This is an ownership issue now.

No one wants your POHO,no one wants your Head Coachs degradation of Oilers History and bullying of the men,no one wants your hand-picked Captain,no one wants Hendricks or any other henchman brought in to strong-arm the locker room ,no one wants to go to games where security humiliates and censors and mistreats regular working Edmontonians.

What the Fanbase wants IS IMPORTANT DARRYL KATZ ---- you are not running a Widget Factory here, this is the entertainment business, and pal you are not providing Entertainment and due to your over-the-top and buddy-buddy support of failing professionals you are embroiled in a personal battle with an entire Fanbase and an entire City now. This will not hurt you,you are the King of the World right? But it is DESTROYING THE LEGACYS OF THE MEN YOU CALL FRIENDS AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATES,they are becoming victims here now, this is far far out of hand and I am afraid that for as long as you defy the paying fanbase you will continue to fall out of respect and favor of the people of Edmonton.

What kind of idiots are running the show for you man?

This is a PR nightmare, the single easiest part of your Hockey Business to run has become your Achilles heel somehow, that is as backwards as the results we see on the ice.

Once you stop fighting other peoples battles for them and LET THEM LOSE AS THEY SHOULD,things will improve, once you let nature take its course things will get better.

Your managment team has been identified by the Fanbase as being the causality of this 8 year playoff lockout. There is no reasonable way to debate this reality because these are the men in the pressure relief areas of the Business, they are SUPPOSSED TO GO WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT TO SUPPORT THE FUTURE VIABILITY AND GROWTH OF THE ORGANISATION.When you keep them in their positions you are not displaying admirable loyalty you are throwing your money and power into the faces of the Fans ,men women and kids who pay the bills for you.

This is clearly a Players against managment issue for your team and it has grown like an ugly monster into a Darryl katz vs the City of Edmonton Oilers fanbase. Why would you allow this to happen? It has not been a surprise or sudden, you asked for this mess, you thumbed your nose at everyone and in the process have nearly destroyed the reputations and legacys of some men you employ who were heros and were suppossed to stay that way here men who have always been really important to the City of edmonton and dear to the hearts of many many fans.

You punish the players and you protect your coaches, fine its your dime. But you lose the Players and hopefully the best demand trades ASAP.Most hockey fans want to see elite players develop and improve the NHL level of entertainment even if it doesnt happen here.

You punish the Fans in Rexall indirectly via your refusal to aknowledge or stop the censorship claiming ignorance and you save your managment team, fine its your dime .But you lose the fanbase and respectability in the community.

Sure you can do what you want money talks right/Sure the building will be full, this is a city full of people with no where else to go in the Winter,a captive market, and you treat it exactly like that.

If you believe that this has been some type of fight or battle and that your organisation has successfully defended itself you are dead wrong man,all you have been seeing so far is the red flags that come before the real problems, these few people speaking out really represent the MAJORITY,your "few trouble makers" schtick is bang on wrong.

It all starts and ends with the fans in the entertainment business, and contrary to your belief there is no such thing as a captive market anymore.I know you dont care and I am saying it to reinforce myself not to educate you.

In case no one noticed, the jersey disrespect started after your Coach raped the locker-room and defiled the Dynasty History of this franchise, and you are OK WITH THAT OBVIOUSLY OR THE ROOM WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN REBUILT EXACTLY AS IT WAS PRE-ATTACK.No passing the buck you are the Owner.

How can you claim to be a fan when you accept this horrible disrespect for the Oilers history? This is the stuff of CURSES for goodness sakes, when you do things like that you bring horrible curses upon your team.

My nephew saved his money for 6 months so he could go to his first Oilers game and I made him an offer of 200 bucks a ticket to buy the two he had bought for him and his buddy,no way was I letting them go to a place where censorship is acceptable,I spent an hour explaining it to him and then eavesdropped as he called his pal and explained that they had FOUR HUNDRED BUCKS TO BLOW AT WEST EDMONTON MALL ON A SHOPPING SPREE INSTEAD OF GOING TO THE GAME,they were both ecstatic.

No I am afraid this will not fly in Edmonton, not censorship, not bullying, not strong-arming,no way no how bud, forget it.

You use your money to teach your kids what you believe in and the rest of us will be doing the same thing man,I will not support Gestapo tactics in my Country pal,not for a second.

I only have to trump your ticket prices to teach kids how to have self-respect,but you need to spend millions and millions to teach yours how to take others self-respect away from them.

Ha ha ha,now I am saving my own spending money to make emergency barters with kids in my life who are not experienced enough to see what your minions are doing to them,i just bought a Rush Jersey, there is a reason for that, kids like excitement and they dont care where they get it from.I would rather take 4 kids to a Rush game than 1 kid to an Oilers game at Rexall Place to be CENSORED and treated like a second class citizen in our own country!!!!!!

Just how did you manage to do this to us all anyways? How is it possible to turn an entire City ,generations, against your Entertainment Business? What is worth that?Who is worth that?

Censorship Daryyl? Burly Security Guards removing Fathers --DADS-- from the Arena? In front of their own kids? That is so shamefull it is making me sick to my gut.Kids NEVER FORGET THINGS LIKE THAT.

You censor one of us and you do it to all of us.

This is beyond acceptable, anyone who has been tuning in the Moma2s NewAge Hockey System posts needs to know it is over man,I am completely getting out of this mess in its entirity,I made my first internet posts in my life in support of the Oilers, and I bloody well regret ever doing it now,CENSORSHIP AT GAMES DARRYL?Mac-T?Bucky? My god.

I will finish off the Playoffs for the St.Louis Blues here because i committed to it already, but there will never be another word about the Edmonton Oilers written or posted or spoken by myself other than off-line to teach the people around me to deny censorship.

A apologise to the Players and men who I respect, but fellas this has gone to another level now and in 2014 in Canada we DO NOT ACCEPT GESTAPO CENSORSHIP.

I feel sorry for you all, mostly because you are young fellas living in a tough world, money aside,we all share the same sun,and I fell sad that you all have to live and work under repressive circumstances, and are forced to be painted by this horrible censorship brush, none of you earned or deserve this.

Any players or coaches ect who are interested in the NHS may leave a contact method here and I will find you ,but i WILL NOT EVEN UTTER THE WORD OILERS AGAIN UNTIL THIS CENSORSHIP ISSUE HAS BEEN FULLY AND COMPLETELY RESOLVED.

I CAN NOT and WILL NOT support ANYTHING or ANYONE who either directly or via association refuses to step up into the face of suppression and censorship and fight for the People of my City.Never.

For the record tough love can only be actioned if the love is in place FIRST.

This means that the close and trusted and loyal relationships must be built FIRST,before the tough parts are integrated into the equation.

Kicking the door down and coming on like an Olde School Christian with brimstone and hades-fire will never work even if the intentions are honorable and honest.

I am not the man behind the wheel here and as a fan am forced to accept where the team is going, however i do not have to remain silent and not aknowledge the things that are becoming obvious to me.

Nuge has been to worried about defense to fully grow his NHL level offense and years are slipping by already, this is an atrocity for gods sakes.

I want to see Eberle replaced with a bigger winger who has an equal talent upside, and I want to see Hall become a true beast and release himself from the pressure cooker he is living in,I want to see him begin to hit opponents when they are vulnerable and to establish himself as a physical threat that will give Nuge some room out there to work his offense.RNH needs two wingers who can get to where he needs them to be,who can get to those open holes and positions that Nuge needs to feed the puck to them in.W.G said that corners are for Bustops that is the bottom line here as well.I do not want to see Nuge fighting in the corners any more as he has been doing,i dont want his skill and talent level to be overshadowed by his linemates, everyone learns differently and Nuges natural growth has already been hindered,it must stop now,and the only way it will stop is to lose the coaching and System requirements which put him in those corners. The only way to get Nuge some room in those corners is to have men in place to finish his passes every time,he is the catalyst here not taylor, but taylor has been lugging the ball instead.

Time to wake up Darryl, even if you trust your managers pal.You will NEVER make a defensive team out of your roster, and no one in their right minds would give up any of this core of players, and this means you picked the wrong coach with the wrong methods,Dallas is not wrong he is smart and capable ,your DECISION was wrong,it was hopefull and well intended but not realistic. You chose defense and Dallas brings it,he doesnt take the bullet here.

When you traded MPS you made error number one,Perron has been more than I expected, however it doesnt change the fact that you gave up the size and skill you are now looking for.and really perrons scoring success has been at Nails expense and this alone has hindered his growth and evolution,Nail would have scored as many goals as Perron had he been given the focal attention to do so by the coach and a suitable system, toss in a defensively obbsessed coach and a pre-determined agenda of BREAKING the spirits of the young bucks and you might as well write the entire re-build off.

all 3 of our 1st rounders are growing at different speeds and as the last few years have gone by NO ONE has properly maintained the correct levels and degrees of support for them, not one has been handled properly.

They are all offensive players and they all needed to enter the NHL using their strengths to float until they got their feet under them, this sudden turn to a punative environment with an insane defensive BS mantra has ensured that NONE OF THEM CAN EVOLVE PROPERLY.

When you say BACKCHECK instead of DEFENSE you make an accurate valuation of an offense first System impact.

When you say DEFENSE first and backcheck second you are blowing wind and that is all you are doing.

Offense MUST ALWAYS COME FIRST AND ANY 5 YEAR OLD ON SKATES KNOWS THAT.

Properly managed offense is defensively air-tight,improperly managed offense is like a seive and we have already seen what that looks like.

A good and consistant defense simply means you get knocked out on your own terms and that is a very very selfish way to look at competition.

Even saying that defense first is the way to win is backwards and regressive, and on that note any IDIOT knows that you need to manufacture an airtight defense to win,but that DOES NOT MEAN that your primary focus must be on defense,it means that you must manufacture that air-tight defensive IMPACT during the games. There is more than one way to generate that defensive impact at an elite level and I could show you lots of gametapes from last season where this same team projected an ominously effective air-tight defensive impact while at the same time drove starting goalies out of the net using overwhelming offense as you were fed last night man, wake up already.

I literally believe that there is a massive communication impediment that exists here between the coaches and the players, not A SINGLE COACH--ALL OF THEM.

If everyone cannot even get on the same page about defining things like defense and offense and their position on the priority list then all is lost.

Anyone watching gametapes from last season and comparing them to this season with Nail Yakupov as the focal point would be aghast at the mismanagment of this single man,it has been a freaking tradgedy.

I dont care what jealous commentators who have historical hatred for the Oilers like Stock does have to say,and I dont care what Dallas has to say,and not what Hendi has to say or what Andrew has to say,I HAVE SEEN THE MEN WE HAVE BEING OPTIMISED AND MANAGED PROPERLY ON THE ICE AND I KNOW WHAT THEY CAN DO.

The newly recruited men I just mentioned do not know this and obviously have not done any homework to find out how and where they will fit into the picture here, they are only relying on what Dallas wants done as their guide, fine its their perogative.

If all of these men think that the locker room was a mess and there was no stability and leadership then they are severely deluded, absolutely deluded, the fact is that dallas came in gangbusters to reshape and to deconstruct everything about this team and he made a mistake in taking the path he has taken,it is that simple.I am sure managment asked Dallas to do this,I am sure they themselves did not give Dallas the full story, they gave him an excusatory story that layed all of the blame for the last few years on the players in TOTALITY.

Upper managment gave Dallas permission to do the things he is doing,in fact at this point after nearly a full season I am beginning to doubt that these are even Dallases natural tendancies.

There are some very serious survivors working in high managerial places for this team and they need to be either adjusted and counselled or cleaned out.A lot of dirty under the table crap has been done here for a very very long time now.maybe in the past these tactics were successfull but not today.

Anyone who can look another man in the eye and deny the reality of what the NHS is historiclly and where it was started and that it was specificlly designed for the Oilers, and deny its impacts then he is not a man,he is a liar.

If your loyaltys to your employer prohibit you from telling the truth as a man then you need to reasses where you are in life, because you are defining yourself through these moments.

Envy is a dangerous thing to embrace. And someone within the managerial group envies the NHS and what is has done and continues to do.

Everyone meets their match sooner or later and unfortunately this group met their s over 3 years ago, they took a solid and committed and loyal ally in Moma2 and the NHS and in a vain and excusatory and defensive series of actions intentionally forced a dynamic that attempted to turn that influence into an enemy,is was so childish and misdirected that it will go down as the biggest single mistake in the history of the organisation.

If there is a point of no return we must be very very close to it right now.

There have not been any cognisant or rational answers provided by managment for many years now, nearly everything has changed but no headway has been made, this points to a historical causality of the disconnect. This means managment, period.

You really want the bottom line, because Katz needs to get this clearly,----

Kevin Lowe is never going to break up a two on one in the Stanley Cup Playoffs or facewash an opponent.

Craig macTavish is never killing off a penalty in double overtime in game seven of the finals.

Steve Smith is never going to smash men away from the front of the net again.

Bucky is never going to skate his heart out and bleed for the team to will them through tough times again.

Dallas Eakins is never going to fill holes to support the team through a Cup run.

These men CAN NOT HELP THIS TEAM WIN GAMES through sheer will-power or good intentions.

None of them deserve the degrees of power and influence they currently weild. They simply arent valuable enough links in the chain that will pull this team out of the rut it is in,they CANNOT WIN GAMES,the PLAYERS are the only ones who can do that and they need to be catered to and supported in any and every way possible to help them do the things they CAN DO.

Battles with coaches and managment are signs of inner cancer and inner rot.
It isnt the players who are rotting,it is managment. They just cannot git er done on their own and they dont have the hockey acumen and communication skills to help the roster discover its own identity and forge its own legacy, they can only try to mold the men into clones of themselves.

These managerial men are all professionals of the highest caliber, but none of them were the core blocks that built their respective teams ,they have been tasked with things they are not equipped to accomplish.Running a team and BUILDING a team are totally different things, obviously right?

Five men sitting at a round table none of whom posses the required skillset to build a team from the ground up simply CAN NOT will themselves to get the job done, their learning curve will be incredibly long and hard. They will not evolve fast enough to keep up with the players growth and contract situations.Hence the only way to compensate for their group shortcomings is to manipulate the players and their contracts to buy themselves time.

If someone could straighten things out for this managerial group they would rock it man, they are an awsome team if they arent asked to do more than they can actually accomplish as individuals and as a group.

Simply put the long term plan has floundered at exactly the worst possible moment in time.

It is to late to go back now and everyone involved knows this,so the obvious option is a curative action, but what could that possible be when you already have five Kings of the World all sitting there smacking their melons together at the Round table? They must have all the answers right?

You see, they are being tasked with actions they cannot even execute as a group, something critical is missing.

There is nothing wrong with ANY of the people in the organisation as a whole, none of them, they are all professionals capable of executing their specific duties, but no more,if they are stretched we lose continuity and power, and this is what has been happening.

These men are all being asked to step out of their comfort zones professionally and take on a task none of them were ever taught to master, they are NOT TEAM BUILDERS,they are TEAMMATES.

I am fully aware that none of them individually will fully understand exactly what I am saying, however the fact is that many of the men on the roster DO IN FACT UNDERSTAND THESE THINGS and it is BECAUSE they are green enough to have not been brainwashed into specific roles yet, they have open minds and are willing to accept anything that is results based, they have nothing to protect or make excuses for. They want to win, they know how to win,and they know what helps them win.

I can easily bring the roster onto one page in no time just by offering them things they can take or leave of their own free will, things they have the power to embrace or reject, things that have an immediate positive impact for them on the ice and help them win games, but there is no way I can do that with the managment group unless I have absolute power over them and they are forced to listen and participate and to surrender their perspectives upon my demands so they can all keep up to me.The Kids can keep up,but the stubborn old dogs cannot, and they fight like mad to slow the train down when they feel they are losing a step which happens frequently.

Managment takes things to personally to learn effectively. They cannot check their job titles and egos at the door when it is asked of them, and really Darryl Katz you are the only man who can ask them all to become students of their own game again so man up and step forward and give them a chance to re-set before this ship really does sink on you all.

Your men are listening anyways, they are actioning things anyways,so why not invest some time and energy into finding a way to reunite your managers with Moma2s NewAge Hockey System ,MAKE THEM SURRENDER,you have the power,it is plain to see that they cannot overcome the myriad of things preventing them from voluntarilly becoming students again.

One must surrender themselves to become stronger, surrender to the pain of ripping and tearing muscles via hard work to maximise physical growth, surrender to the breaking down of old established and traditional perspectives via hard and intense results based scrutiny to ensure progressive consistant evolution.

If each member of the Managment team AND each member of the Roster,AND each member of the peripheral sphere of influence from the janitor to the accountant to the Bus driver fills out an anonymous form that gives them a solid outline upon which they can list the good AND the bad things they see happening around them and within the organisation and if this is specificlly projected with intentions of getting complete honesty,if the critical importance of complete and openminded honesty are stressed and if Anonymity is guaranteed, then you will have without a doubt ALL of the data you need to take full and complete curative actions. The single CODICILE must be that organisationally NO ONE EXCEPT KATZ ever gets to review the results with the Consultant representing the NHS.An owner guaranteed 100% assurance of absolute anonymity is the crux of solving these challenges immediatly.NO MAN WILL BE STABBED IN THE BACK----WE NEED HONESTY .

I do not believe that any significant changes need to be made ,I believe it is time to remove the hammer from over everyones heads in one full swooping action , we dont want to lose a single man we have invested resources into, the decisions have all been well supported, but there is a dire need for a single all-encompassing valuation of the dynamic superstructure and its abilitys and performance envelope capabilitys.

There is a way to solve this challenge where no man has to REMOVE his focus, but where every man must ADD the same strengths to his focus at the same time.

This superstructure does not have to be imploded, not at all.

If you asked me to remove one single man from the organisation I could not give you a valid and supported valuation to support that action, because I believe that all the right pieces are already there just not in the right spots yet.

If these men are all optimised and properly utilised then all can stay, but the way things have been managed and continue to evolve some of these men will have to be sacrificed to support the screwed up status quo sooner or later, and when that happens the entire organisation becomes weaker, every time you need to re-train and re-indoctrinate a new asset you take a small step backwards and you must pray that that asset can produce enough of an above average impact when it is in place to catch you back up again or the organisation suffers a setback or a growing pain if you will.So the more changes you make the more small stutter-steps you take backwards and the more pressure there is on multiple assets to produce concurrent above average results long enough to get things caught up from a results based organisational standpoint the greater the danger of major steps back.

Obviously the likelyhood is not high for any single asset to actually produce above average results long enough to balance out the organisational shock or cost of integrating them ,one in ten might fully recoup the energy the organisation loses in this process, and the rest will require varying degrees of blood from the superstructure and will all to some degree slow things down overall.hence the unstoppable backwards slide.

This is why people ask EXACTLY HOW can this oilers team be regressing? How can the re-build look like it needs to be re-re-built?

I just explained to you how AND why this IS IN FACT HAPPENING.I can give you an accurate timeline for when things will balance out as well,or rather the obvious facts can do this, but it will be a depressing scenario because you will find that the core will not be here to see it happen,no way not at this rate of recovery. At the current rate under the current circumstances we will need to see at least two of our 1st round picks traded and also see at least two or three of our best farmhands like Nurse and Klefbom traded away, and all this will do is barely make us a playoff team, not a threatening one just a competative one.

The entire roster will need to be restructured into a defensive setup as is already slowly happening dynamiclly with journeymen supporting the bottom six and older experienced forwards making up the top six, this means a short term run at best, not a Dynasty type of multi-year championship opportunity,it means another very very immediate re-tool or rebuild after two or three years.

Once you get to the middle of the NHL pack with this short term defensive based mess the high draft picks dry up and the cupboard goes bare quickly.

If the Oilers twitter away this core group of #1 picks the City will likely NEVER see this type of opportunity again.

Not to be disrespectfull but what kind of idiot would have a number of ULTRA-HIGH assets like this and not see the need to bring in more qualified support that matches the offensive value level of the core?????

Who would even consider trying to do what is being done to this team, from the inside??

Taylor Hall?Ryan Nugent-Hopkins?Nail Yakupov?Justin Schultz?Sam Gagner?David Perron?

Any fool can see that this group is outstanding and capable of becoming the base of a long-term Dynasty level group. And any fool can tell you that they arent going to do it by underutilising their cumulative skillsets.Defense doesnt even enter the equation and this is the core issue here, there is not enough qualified offensive teaching and coaching support available to this core and that will implode this group eventually, sooner than later.

You cannot replace ALL of the management people who are not suitable without ripping it all apart,so you need to TEACH them how to change their colors as a group, they all need to either relearn some basics or move on somewhere else. You cannot bring in Wayne gretzky to this superstructure and believe he could add enough to turn this around,no way no how.Mess wont do it either.

However if you can ADD something impactfull to all the assets in place and THEN ADD a Wayne gretzky after the road has been paved then incredible things could happen immediatly.

Either the majority of the managerial assets OR players must leave town,or EVERYONE MUST LEARN A NEW WAY OF MANAGING THEMSELVES TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME.

No one seems to have a curative action to ADD in this situation, they reject the NHS which could accomplish it ,and in the process remove the option totally from the table because there is nothing else on the planet that can provide the NHSs impacts. So you see someone in the organisation WANTS this team to implode, this is being done from the inside, someone is refusing to take their BadMedicine. So who is safe if the managment team implodes or if the roster implodes? There is no other possible source of this disconnect. So we have found ourselves at either Darryl katz or Kevin Lowe or both together in union.

If you dont have the ability to visualise this core becoming a Championship team through the use of their natural cumulative strengths then how you can properly optimise them? How can you even have a chance?

You need a builder with vision and new ideas to carry this group forward, but you refuse to relinquish any degree of control or credit to anyone, you are being overprotective of your glory as a group and are to one track minded as a group.

I would melt down your managerial group in an hour flat,to the point of men wanting to leave the room, but in the next hour i would have them all on one page and chomping at the bit to hear and learn more.

If i cannot enrage all of them at once then I cannot possibly teach them all something at once, but you see I see and understand the common thread of brotherhood here and know just how to rip its heart out and replace that failing unit with a NewAge and superior one.It is this managerial group that needs to be broken like a green Mustang,NOT the players, and there isnt a power on the planet outside of the NHS that can single-handedly and immediatly do this job.

You could not replace this managerial group today, there are not enough quality assets available on the market to adequately replace this group,if I had to assemble a group of NHL minds one-for-one to challenge and overcome this groups strength and acumen I would have a very very hard time getting the job done,HOWEVER I happen to have a System and a Philosophy which can accomplish these tasks in record time, there is a cure available and it is called the NHS.

Just look what the Flames did by simply using a TSP,they destroyed the Oilers, didnt just beat them down, they dismantled the system completely.

The flames didnt out-coach the Oilers or outplay them, they out thought them, they kept throwing the same punch that the Oilers refuse to even aknowledge exists. If you dont understand the NHS Tactical Shooting program and its impacts and cannot neutralise this impact using your system you are doomed in todays NHL,it is that simple, things change boys and sometimes they change faster than we like huh?

You behave as if there is never going to be anything new brought into the game of hockey that you all wont understand and already know, what an incredible level of vanity and ignorance.

You want to know why the Oilers are falling so fast and hard?Managerial stubbornness, ignorance, and vanity. Not a lack of ability at all, that is surely there, but if these intangibles cannot be properly managed then the ability is peed away now isnt it?And to think that the players have been hung out to dry to support these managerial weaknesses and managerial refusal to learn and evolve with the rest of the NHL.They want to fight change and challenges NOT learn, and they are not able to win the fights they get into anymore,it is a sad sad situation man. They were fighters as players and are fighters as managers, but as players this quality served them well but as managers all it does is seriously impede their ability and willingness to learn anything new or progressive, and to surrender enough control dynamiclly to get the help they ALL need as a group.

Is the Oilers glass on its way to being completely empty, or completely full?I say it is on its way to being completely full, but how is it possible to put the men running the show on that page with full belief and conviction?Simple, give them to me in a room for an afternoon, make me untouchable and powerfull Katz and after an hour i will relinquish that power completely because i will no longer need it,I just need your managerial team to sit down and listen long enough for me to stir them up and get the data we all need, once they are on the same page with me,they will become the glue that binds and will want more not less, there will be no need to control THEM you will need to keep me in the room FOR THEM AT THEIR REQUEST.

I dont think these men have ever been on the same full page together,or have ever seen anyone solve problems at an elite pace using them as the catalyst of change, bringing no new dynamics into play, just re-setting them. They have never really functioned as a fluid and optimal team, and once they taste that and feel the power they will love it.

I can literally use them to bring each other onto the same page,I have NO HOCKEY ACUMEN OR EXPERIENCE,I am an Intuit and an elite communicator, and that is what they need .

These men together hold the answers the team needs, but they need the right man to bring those answers out onto the table where as a group they can validate and endorse and implement them.

tsn1260 Jason Gregors interview with Paul Coffey........ read it and you will find the solution to ALL OF THE PROBLEMS THAT HAVE SUNK THE ONCE GREAT OILERS FRANCHISE.

It is all there, everything is right there in front of you.

When I listened to that interview all I could visualise was the NHS being played by men who were taught to think and play like Paul and those men did.

Just listen to that interview and think back to Nail Yakupovs season last year and how he has been absolutely mismanaged and brutalised by an inexperienced Coach this season.Same with J Schultz and many other players, complete mismanagment of their strengths complete refusal to make accurate valuations of what each man can do on the ice better than their peers,at the end of the day everything paul Coffey says in his interview resonates to me because they are the EXACT thoughts I was having AS I CREATED MOMA2S NEWAGE HOCKEY SYSTEM for the current Oilers roster.

That is one of my favorite interviews ever,no one could have validated my intentions in creating the NHS more than Paul did in that interview.

Anyone in Oilersland listening????

Were I the POHO I would definately consider making a "Bold Statement" and thrown my chips All-In and announce that I would be betting my future at the helm on the Clubs making the Playoffs next season and that it was a Winner take all proposition where if the playoffs are not reached I step back and let another man try to take the Team forward under his own brand of leadership.

This statement would eliminate 99% of the stigmas which are haunting the organisation in the Mainstream and online medias.

I believe the POHO works better under pressure with defined and identified challenges and goals driving him to provide optimal performance and to utilise is instincts and passion.

If I were the POHO I would gladly make this wager, the Re-Build is on track and the Roster is ready to break out, they are on the cusp of becoming a Playoff team.Next season is a 100% lock for this team to finally meet the high expectations everyone has defined for them.

Paul Coffey has spent the last 6 years coaching, and is a prime fit for a Defensive co-ordinator,add him and you are immediatly going in the right direction.Add Wayne and Mark and really you have a perfect reflection of the three core values that most represent the Dynasty way of thinking and playing the game.Waynes tactical read and reacts ,Marks competative fire and craftiness, and Pauls pure offensive instincts and on-ice awareness.

Can you imagine the practices with this group.

Had these men been available ten years ago we would already have them,it is only now that you can really put the olde guard together again,it has never really been done befor, only preipheral Dynasty players have stuck around ,no one has ever seen what a core managment team of the Dynasty core could accomplish together, especially not with a special roster like we see now.

Why not give the Fans a real Olde Boys Club, no one would complain if they saw Darryl Katz use his money to bring in the Real Deal,

If you are being tagged with a reputation for being a Homer organisation but in reality have done your best just to retain as much of a vestige of the Dynasty team as was possible as early as possible then why not run with the idea and now RETAIN those HIGHER END CORE PLAYERS LIKE WAYNE MARK AND PAUL now that they are available all at once for the first time ever.

I personally respect what the organisation has done in its retention and faith in K Lowe.At the time we retained him he WAS the BEST Historic Dynasty player candidate for the jobs he earned. The same applies to the other old Oilers coaching today.

However now that the services of Wayne ,Mark and Paul are available , I believe it is time to really take a swing at all three of them . None of them including Kevin were really ready when we took K Lowe on, Lowe has grown into his job as have Mac-T and others, but when these types of Hall of Famers are available an owner MUST consider the option of putting together a true Dream Team.

The Ownership and organisation have taken a solid poinding for many years about The Olde Boys Club, so why not optimise the impacts of that long term critique and REALLY show the Fanbase what can be done when one wants to go Olde School, bring in the Hall of Famers all at once.

Head Coach --- Wayne Gretzky

Assistant Coach --- Mark Messier

Co-Assistant Coach --- Paul Coffey

Associate Coach --- Grant Fuhr/Bill Ranford
" " --- Dallas Eakins/Todd Nelson

" " --- Steve Smith/Kelly Buchberger

The game of hockey will NEVER change so much that this core group of Dynasty minds will not be able to take a roster to the top of the heap.

If what the current managers say is true and it is defense that wins Championships then this group MUST by proxy be one of the most defensively catalysed groups on the Planet because they all sure as heck know how to win Championships.

Ownership HAS NOT tried everything it can do just yet.

It is all about risk vs rewards and how a professional mind handles the successes and setbacks of that mentality and approach..

One must believe in the path taken, and really where else could you possibly find a core of men who understand this concept more than in the core group mentioned above? You could add more names to the potential pool as well,Kurri,Anderson ect ect there are many candidates who are and always will be on the same page.

The questions really is this....... does this core group have five years to spare these days , because that is how many years this core roster group has left together, anything after that will be possible only if they win multiple championships in that time.

There is a 5 year committment required from everyone, and that is the deal maker or breaker,a fully supported tangible and solid committment.

If you really want to turn this team around bring in the Dream Team of managers and then see how many players are willing to come to the City simply to taste this type of greatness in their lifetimes.

Find a picture of the Oilers locker-room from last season and PUT IT BACK THAT WAY.Let it be written that there is a Hockey Curse alive and kicking and it will do nothing but grow until it is excised.

If I cannot teach you the NHS , if you refuse to accept it then, bring in the men who will Force-feed the EXACT SAME tactics and philosophies to you straight from the Source.

The NHL has finally evolved back into the type of game which suits the Dream Teams perspectives, this IS THE RIGHT TIME.

I cannot figure Katz out and do not need to, he is a business Mogul already, and requires no validation beyond his overall portfolio and successes.I simply hope he can visualise the fact that these men were NEVER AVAILABLE AS A GROUP AT ANY POINT IN THE PAST....................... but they are available now and ALL of them MUST see the PURE POTENTIAL that exists within the roster, they KNOW HOW TO MAKE MAJIC together with this type of talent and skill.

I do not belive the current core will remain intact if something monumentel is not actioned.

There is an unusually high likelyhood that the 1st overall will fall into place yet again, and if that happens then history will be made.I do not believe any NHL team has had the opportunity to build from within this type of roster, never ever.

Just as the Dynasty team required mentoring more than coaching, this group requires the same support, Slats was here to mentor players in the Dynasty Days , todays roster requires men WHO HAVE BEEN THERE AND KNOW HOW THE PROCESS WORKS.It takes an unusually high level of patience and belief to be a mentorship group more than a coaching group, and when you encounter such overwhelming skill, talent and hockey sense on one roster you require an exceptionally unique mentorship group to optimse their abilities.

In the big picture it all makes sense, K Lowe POHO and Mac-T GM are in the traditionally right spots considering how they contributed to the Dynasty team, adding these three men to the mix is simply moving forward in a progressive direction.

Lets add the gunpowder to the mix now.

I wouldnt want to be an opposition Coaching crew looking across the ice at the dream team of Gretz-Mess-Coffey et al. No way-no how, that is a scary thought for anyone.

There is nothing I would like to see more than this Dream Team having the cojones to immediatly embrace the NHS and to take it and run with it.

I just watched my news and listened to a speil describing how it is inevitable that the team have to trade one of the 3 #1 picks SOON. I digress 100% and do not subscribe to this theory.

A 20 year old rookie and a 30 year old veteran have the exact same value to me.

Only an inexperienced Coaching team requires a Veteran player because Veteran Players have multi-system understandings of the game and their ability to instinctively go to the right damage control spots is hightened. That IS all veterans are good for.

Veteran players compensate for coaching inability and weaknesses. They compensate for a low read and react ability emanating from the coaching crew.

A roster of young 1st and 2nd year players has in my opinion MORE of an advantage than a roster of veterans,if the coaches and system are equal in every way.

If this ownership group doesnt recognise this they could make huge errors.

The organisation has already been making player moves to match a Rookie Coaches perspective and player needs,HUGE HUGE MISTAKE HERE FELLAS.

it took us a decade of losing to collect the players and assets we have now, it took 10min.10sec. to make the Eakins decision ten seconds to read his NHL resume and ten minutes on the phone to hire him. Who in their right mind would re-structure an NHL roster which contains players of the caliber we have that tokk a decade of losing to accumulate??? Even CONSIDERING changing ANY of the core is an INSANE PROSPECT .Derelict is the correct word.

The truth hurts and the truth is that this core is an unusual core of special players who NEED a coaching crew that fits THEM,they CAN NOT change the ways they are being asked to change and remain the special players that they are and were when we chose them in the draft. Those decisions were ALL RIGHT ONES-- we chose the RIGHT PLAYERS, but have failed to surround them with the mentorship they required. This was an orgainisational error, and it CAN BE CORRECTED.

This season has been the worst of the lot for one reason only, this is the FURTHEST AWAY FROM THE OPTIMAL coaching and managment dynamic that you could possibly get, trying to turn the group into defensive minded drones, trying to instill defensive instincts strong enough to override offensive instincts the players are BUILT UPON.This is the most regressive and backwards path possible and is unbelievable.Someone sat at a desk and decided that the men were young enough that it was better to hammer the defense into them than to wait for them to learn it the traditional way as they lean on their offense to let them develop.Big mistake and total mis-valuation.And likely done with the explanation that is was to produce the impact of long term gains SOONER THAN LATER.

When Ralph Krueger was here there were times when he listened to the Players and they found elite sucess, those times are now recorded history and can be identified, reviewed and replicated. Those were times where the NHS was being implemented and under duress not supported by all of the Organisations assets,it was only allowed to peek its NHS head onto the ice a wee bit as the players were allowed to add it a few times on their own.

Moma2s NewAge Hockey System is 100% Dynasty driven, the only thing better is the men who lived it,the only hope there is of creating the perfect storm with this core of elite players is to 86 this season completely and to rewind to last season and replicate the games where the NHS was implemented OR bring in the Dream Team.if the current path is supported things wll implode, there will be no roster-wide evolution into a defensive team, you see this roster HAS ALREADY FELT WHAT THEY CAN DO WHEN ALLOWED.The roster knows they can win with overwhelming offense and in the process produce airtight defense.

Once the roster learned how and what they could do using their natural strengths they were branded for life, so good luck to the coaches ,yes every man can become a defensive specialist. But the sacrifice will be their offensive creativity, because that is how these men produce it,using creativity, they were not big huge physical robotic men when we scouted and drafted them, and they will NEVER produce offense as the current coaches need them to,AFTER they use their huge size and power games to produce defense THEN they can find opportunistic offense in the dirty areas. jeepers creepers this is so backwards it is creepy man.We did not draft the big men,we CAN NOT produce the defense using size and nasty,we ARE NOT BUILT FOR IT.And we cannot use defense by committy to create a viable NHL level defensive impact. We need BIG STAND-UP D-MEN and a total offensive focus supported by a 100% puck pursuit backcheck strategy that pressures the puck or funnells it into the STAND-UP DEFENSEMEN who will eliminate the puck carrier giving the backcheck the perfect dynamic to recover the puck ,we need hard playing dirty nasty d-men who will bring the pain and do it in sneaky ways, hurt you on every play consistantly, guys who can STAND YOU UP and drop you anywhere on the ice, think Jason Smith Gator one-arm. Or some of Andrew Ferences excellent stand-up hits a few games ago,he was textbook,Ference RECOVERED from contact with superior position and on the right side of the puck EVERY time he made the decision to stop the puck carrier and REMOVE him from the playaction. And dont force this now give Marincin and Nurse some time to grow some muscle mass, start next season.Get Petry on a red meat diet.

The only way to optimise the assets on board without IMPLODING the core, is to find and install a mentorship /coaching crew comprised of DYNASTY CORE MEN WHO HAVE BEEN THERE AND FELT THE BURN , it is what it is.

Start right now,and get input from the right men regarding the roster valuation and coming needs so the right decision can be made at the draft.

Next season this team could make a run at the Cup if it is managed optimally.

We need to see 3 40 goal scorers,Hall,Eberle,Yakupov, 4 30 goal scorers Perron Hopkins Moroz Schultz, 3 20+ goal scorers Gagner,Gordon.

That is the offensive impact we need to generate with this roster.these totals can easily be achieved and there is another 10 goals to spread around between the rest of the men.

Defensive Teams cannot play in their comfort zones when down more than one goal,as soon as you get a two or more goal lead they MUST change their gameplans and you have an immediate edge. An offensive team NEVER has to change its gameplan because a Hockey game is really a race to see who can score the most goals in 60 minutes and everyone must know that.

It is 50% easier to execute a one-way and concrete game-plan for 60 minutes on every level of the game.It is twice as labor intensive to have to cerebrally and physiclly support TWO gameplans over the 60 minutes.

All of the Fear mongering a certain Coach is making about how the teams in the Western Conference arent changing for a long time is designed to cause a knee-jerk reaction to seek BIGGER PLAYERS,when that is not how these teams have created the impacts they are creating in the standings. Some teams have bigger rosters and that is not why they are winning so much,it is their system tactics.

The current Roster is big enough , do they need to change some of the d-men into stand-up hitters? Yes,so they need lots of size and beef on the blue-line,it isnt so much the skill levels as the committment and the size and NASTY NATURES.We will only need our d-men to make relays to forwards who will be there in support to clear the d-zone,no fancy crap from the defense, and TWO forwards back to support the puck.we want instant transitions to offense, instant.

The zone transitions are now excellent,so most of the wrinkles have been taken out of Eakins system, what you see is what you get,it can only get more defensive from here on in,it will not produce more than 1 or 2 goals per game, and will always hope to keep it close and competative,it is a losing proposition in todays NHL.

If this Coach could add a TSP to his system he could generate more offense without changing anything, increase his possesion to goals %.

I just see a defensive coach making his type of decisions as per player utilisation and he is strong as a bull,he is IMHO mismanaging most of the men on the roster with his defense first mantras.

The defense as it is is to complicated and is treated as a seperate entity from the offense, in todays NHL if you do not have a stand-up defense then you are forced to playa a complicated defensive scheme.A Stand-up defense SUPPORTS a full-blown backchecking game by the forwards where they can go all out after the puck and worry less about covering man to man or even zone coverage.Stand-up defense supports lightening fast offensive transitions and change of flow and direction of the playaction taking time and space away from the opponents and forcing reactions to fast for their systems to compensate for.

Stand-up defense creates many more offensive short odd-man rushes for our team than any other defensive schematic.

The more simple you make the systems focus the MORE creativity and skill your elite players can ADD to the game, think of your basic system as a cup of plain yougurt, bland, now think of the cup as the stand-up defense and the system based off of that the plain yogurt and every topping added as an individuals skillset, this is what you want,a simple system which supports a 100% offensive focus which in itself produces an extended and fierce backchecking game by the forwards, more stops and starts, and more take-backs on their blueline and in their defensive zone by forwards, more defensive zone exits made by forwards carrying the puck faster transitions to offense in areas opponents are not prepared to defend due to their system decisions.

But I am not convinced this Coach can manage to implement these concepts ,the fact he hasnt requested the NHSs help and support speak volumes about organisational integrity.

I say bring in the Dream Team then the NHS will be a second rate option and will no longer be needed at all.Its history will end where the Dream Team start.

Wayne,Mess,Paul, very different personalitys but all equally fierce competitors who are willing and able to come together under any circumstances to create a winning result.

Come on Darryl katz, I would never ever support an Olde school movement if it wasnt the best thing for the Team, and ight now at this point in time,it is pure genius and a once in a life-time opportunitty, these men will not all be available like this ever again.

Shock the entire Hockey World globally, put together a Historic Dream Team and let them bring your Team into its new arena in absolute style.

No one in their right mind would argue with this type of monumentel move, you would spin the entire fanbase and media on its ear.And likely become a Hero to generations of Hockey Fans. This type of move is the type whichs build LEGACYS.

00:48 seconds in there is NO STANDUP on the blueline,an easy zone entry is allowed and an easy NHL goal is scored againsts an either lazy or misguided defense.

Scrivens was Outstanding again, the coach and roster are finally confident and are learning to open it up at the right times, Ben gives them a real push in the right direction. However i can see evidence of pre-game scouting on the systems interaction with ben already.

Hendricks showed his leadership skills , wow, I underestimated his charachter willingness and impacts, he is definately a keeper.

Andrew ference has definately evolved into more of a leader than the Early season results were showing, he is showing his value and impact in many ways on the ice
.

The real difference maker this season has been Sam Gagner, he has come back fully from his injury now and has quietly,as Silent Sam does so well, taken this team on his shoulders and displayed his resilience, coachability and determination showing the true value of 7 year veteran learership skills in the Locker Room and on the ice.

I can see Sams on-ice generalship shining through more every game, he reminds me of Doug Weight in how he can subtely influence games and impact them so greatly at the end of 60 minutes,he really knows how to use his linemates on the ice.Now he needs to shoot more to keep Goalies guessing, they all know he is a playmaker supreme, so he needs to victimise a few of them before the year is over to set the tone for next season.

Our defense will be very hard to crack for the next five plus years by the looks of things, Marincin is now a permanent fixture , Klefobom is fitting in seamlessly, Nurse looks like he will be ready by next season if he can put on the beef fast enough to back up his edgy style.History will read that we win the Draft again, so Eckblad could concievably join that group next season as well if he is already NHL ready as many say he is.If things are decided based on ability and results under pressure in a competative scrimmage loaded camp then we could concievably see all 4 young d-men on the Roster next season.

For some reason this coaching group is exceptionally good at mentoring young d-men into the NHL System, this is a fact, and fluke or not they are really good at it,considering that our crop of elite offensive men has been followed immediatly by a seeming NHL ready crop of d-men this is the perfect dynamic to enable another influx of young same-aged core players to the Roster.

If by some act of the Hockey Gods just 3 never mind all 4 of these d-men pan out the Roster could be poised to make some serious leaps in the NHL standings.Considering that the offense will continue to mature and evolve.

At least TWO NASTY MEN need to anchor our Stand-up Defense, ALL d-men need to be big enough and quick enough to execute the Stand-up defense and recover first consistantly.

Ference can be that Player,he is the smallest we can accomodate and only because he can execute well enough to make up for his size.So right now fraser is our second nast d-man who needs to fight. We need at least 2 ready to rumble d-men to take pressure off of Gadzic, and they need to be serious business not part timers,Ference is willing but a mIddleweight so we can use him but Fraser MUST be ready to use his smarts and take out some threats to gadzic from time to time.

The KISS program says to shorten up the zones, and to do this you use a three man forecheck,a dogged truculent extended backcheck on the puck carrier and a Stand-Up defense. The 3 man forecheck eliminates an organised defensive zone exit which most teams rely on, the tactical backchecking shortens the n-zone on one side, and the push with a numbers advantage and hot puck pursuit and pressure funnel the opponent and playaction into the Stand-Up defense which shortens the n-zone on the other side and eliminates the puck carrier on his center of gravity at or above the blue-ine creating a pause in the playaction that allows the Backchecking tactic to become optimised. This creates playaction pauses above or at our blue-line during which our backchecking forwards overtake the playaction and recover the puck turning it around immediatly into an offensive rush, with no re-set to the defense for a long drawn out set up zone exit--ect--ect--.

This means we see less skating for our defense but more chances for them to take it end to end, because after they stand-up high the playactions will terminate behind them and from time to time they will find themselves the recipients of nice breakout passes seeing as they get caught up high and turning at a critical time. They will be a Primary option for the forwards who recover the pucks after the pauses created by the Stand-up tactic.

One might consider this to be re-orgnanising the Swarm into an offensive buzzsaw catalysed between the bluelines.Several top teams do this now and they are all bigger team which is perfect because you get to pit speed against size in short speed bursts coming into the perimeter zones all game long where speed kills.

You break the 2 primary components of most NHL systems, the 1st d-zone exit which sets up playactions, and the final o-zone transition which terminates set playactions. You use the 3 man forecheck to accomplish goal #1 and you use the Stand-Up defense to accomplish goal #2,you deny exit and you deny entry, you effectively shorten the rink to a space between the bluelines and you apply all of your skill and talent into those areas and overwhelm the opponent in an area that suits your strengths not theirs.

This set-up makes the Forwards work much harder than others but remember that when they are working they have the pucks and that is where you want pucks when you have a skilled and talented lineup, on their sticks with them working hard.

This set-up also encourages short 5-10 ft passes and lots of short burst give and gos,Lots of short nifty passes that happen fast due to the shortened rink impact. Most of your offense is coming off of hard working takebacks on the backcheck and the transition to offense from those takebacks is immediate and it doesnt create a 3 transition or step set up to move the puck on net,its impact is immediate.

This is where the AIR-TIGHT defensive impacts are produced as a BY-PRODUCT of offensive focus and impacts, the 3 man forecheck is an offensivly catalysed forecheck looking to score right there with a numbers advantage, the stand-Up defense supports turnovers and takebacks at an unusual area not normally utilised by most NHL systems, this action supports immediat transitions to short burst offense initiated from the n-zone or very very high in the d-zone,lightening fast turnarounds which catch opponents in transition a high % of the time.

I cannot get you fellas to use the NHS but I can give you the NHS refinements to what you are trying to do right now.

This rosters PURE STRENGTH is its ZONE TRANSITION abiliys across 4 lines,it is very very consistant now and effective, all that is needed is the finish.

This zone transition focus will be key to sucess when you implement these changes here, this group can instinctively spread out defenses lightening fast, and they do it by executing excellent zone transitions, the key is givng them a way to shoot the puck effectively off of these high speed executions consistantly.

You want to see zone entry and shot or pass-shot or at maximum pass-pass-shot,never more.

This means you need to give the men a shortcut to processing all of that critical data at such high speed, you take the shot selections out of their hands so to speak, and you use a Tactical Shooting Program to accomplish this. You allow them to focus on executing their zone entrys and playactions without having to process shooting information,it speeds everything up.

I see what you are doing now and it is working, not a doubt about that, and will improve as the season ends.

The question will be wether or not you have the best system impacts online going into next season, so go ahead and make the adjustments, why not?

If you shorten the rink using the tactics and the ways I just told you the defense will improve dramaticlly.Dallas willl be happy, and the offense will produce 60% more goals because all of the roster will be playing into their natural strengths instead playing out of them.

This set of adjustments is a modified- NHS but it is a deadly presentation in my opinion.A KISS setup.

You must however do ALL steps as I outlined because the dynamic interactions are tactically related, you cannot change anything.

You will increase you puck possesions AND your possesion to goals conversion %.

You will effectively be eliminating an entire zone transition out of your tactical executions as many times in 60 minutes as you can manage and every time you accomplish this you will generate an odd-man advantage in your own favor.

You shorten your tactical planning and managment and on-ice /cerebral workload by 1/3,and it takes away 1/3 of the traditional time opponents have to transition into system defensive setips,it takes away their time and space,I hate those terms but you guys like them.the NHS has better terms and definitions of impacts available.

I still want to see the Dream Team, but at the same time dallases efforts and the rosters efforts must be respected fully-100%-- and this means trying to help them accomplish what it is they are aiming for,not trying to change their approach.

I have seen Sam Gagner come back as the Leader of the team and have watched Ference do good job as Captain,I have watched the roster become more competative on the pucks and during the entire 60 minutes as Eakins guaranteed, as sketchy as it has been at times the players ARE thinking defense first now across the board and it is paying some dividends, there seems to be some sort of balance being found as we are seeing some serious offense sneaking into games in places it wasnt allowed earlier in the season,I know Gagner is an ELITE tactician on the ice with his linemates and his leadership is infectious, but the reins have been released a bit lately.

The additions of Marincin and Klefbom seem to have bolstered and improved the defense as a whole. The impacts are immediate, these kids are for real and do not look out of place at all.

I want to see Mitch Moroz on the roster before the year is over.I believe he is the answer to our 2nd line left winger problem.

David perron is a line-leader and a line catlyst he carries the entire playaction when he is at his best,he is a natural to anchor the 3rd lines offense over 82 games.

Perron can be impactfull from all 3 top lines. He can score from any line with few opportunitys,he is a finisher and can optimise being the focus of the entire lines offense every possesion,he is like hemsky was,a line playaction CATALYST.He provides 3 line scoring depth of NHL caliber. His impact from the 3rd line forces opponents to spread their defenseive talent out very very thin.

If teams try to dump it in on you just let the backchecking forwards do thier jobs coming back hard and taking all of the wingmen and allow them to get to the puck first with their 1st forechecker in and play off of the take-back after they secure possesion, if the forwards are doing their jobs there will be no pass outlet in time for the forecheck to optimise all their hard work. When teams dump it in and you have shortened the rink and are using a stand-up defense all you want to do is keep the puck on the boards for an extra millisecond consistantly and letting them get to and try to protect the puck while you are behind them on the right side of it, this tactic is critical because it prevents the 1st forechecker in from rejoining the playaction around the net,and it gives the backchecking forwards time to get in front of and on the right sides of their assignments taking away lanes and sticks.

So your d-men arent worried about getting caught out of position on dump-ins because you are managing them differently, you are expecting your d-men to be exactly one step behind the forecheckers, instead of getting two steps in front of them, and are using the backboards as a seventh man on the ice to limit options.

The key is ALWAYS the hard work of the forwards on puck pursuit and capture between the bluelines that makes this system work.

They must be ready to explode out of that zone close to the puck carrier and wingmen at all times always trying to get between their assignemts and the nets. The idea is to explode out of cover into superior position, getting on the right side of the puck before the opponent in both perimeter zones.Dallas would call this defensive,I call it offensive preperation.

when without the puck,You need to be between the opponent and your own net with your arse facing your goaltender to be in optimal position to see the ice properly and generate offense,so i dont see defense there at all.

The quicker you can get between your opponent and the net the faster you can legally apply a stand-Up check on him and flatten him taking him out of the playaction completely, and this is the Primary play all men should be looking for ALL the time, the REMOVAL of the puck carrier from the playaction completely. One for one,as long as you stop the puck carriers body movement forwrd and drop him out of the playaction you have done your job and can be confident your teammates will support you because the numbers behind you will be even.

A skilled team always plays better 4on4 so when you execute a single standup check and drop an opponent you create an immediate 4on4 in either zone which is an advantage to a skilled team,if you can execute two standups in a row and turn the puck around you have an automatic odd-man advantage.

This system supports a skillled roster.and a tall lanky defense, and an active goaltender.

This system keeps the puck in the hands of the forwards where it belongs on a skilled team.

Sound familiar??

Time for the PP to get past the Smytty record already. It is holding back to much offensive production.

Put Smytty in Horcoffs old spot below the circle three feet off the boards looking for the sharp angle one-timer or a nice greasy deflection off of someone in front, Ryans hand eye co-ordination is excellent,in fact so is his memory, ask him about scoring one off of a re-direction from that exact spot off of a set play last year and he will remember it,it will pay off now as well.A half-slapper or hard wrister passed to Smytty as the d-man slides to the left along the blueline, making the pass from the middle of the top of the zone -- hard and high right to Ryan at the side. The Keys to the play are that #1 the D-man starts on the right side top of the blueline and skates backwards right on the line dragging the coverage and Goaltenders body positions with him, because he shoots the right way he will have his stick up in a half-shooting position as he backs across the top of the zone, after he has drug coverage to the left side enough,he hits Smytty with a cross-seam againsth the grain of motion pass-- high and hard enough for a solid deflection. No Cannons, just HARD HEAVY SHOTS/PASSES.

This is how you will get Smytty out of this slump and re-ignite the PP for everyone else.I cant remember who the d-man was that set this up last time,I tink it was J.Schultz, but I cant remember, maybe Smyth will,he was the recipient of the pass to the side after the E/W luring of the coverage and goalie by the d-man.It has to be a Right shooting D-man so likely it was J Schultz.

It would be nice to see this set-up discussed pre-game briefly so everyone is on board early and the Record can be put to bed, once Smytty gets over the hump and others start shooting more he will get MORE greasy goals. He needs others taking terminal shots on net not always trying to set him p,he is instinctive and reactive and plays it better on the fly when everyone is caught off guard together and his savvy can give him an edge, like Sellanne these types of Pros are best when things are in high speed motion where they can out-fox you with their cerebral muscle-memorys and still deadly reflexes.

Just slide Ryan over to that old Horcoff spot and let him make one timer re-directions at the net,not big wind-up onetimers either, simply scoop-type re-directions or rigid pure deflections,he will finish this play every time if he is given the shot/deflectio/re-direction set-up.This is basiclly a cross-ice against the grain of the playaction shot/pass to Smytth for a medium range scoop-shot or deflection into the oen back door. Smytty doesnt want to be a playmaker from there either, just GET THE SHOTS OFF ASAP,and then CLOSE on the net for your rebounds.Once the pucks get to Smytty everyone needs to know he is going to be re-directing or shooting them on net from that spot ASAP,so they can be looking to close on his rebounds.

Once this is executed on the 1st PP of the night, then immediatly on the next one J Schultz can do er again but this time let the shot go to the far side catching the tender cheating looking for Smytty again just ping-pong this play back and forth on them,it will win you the game on it own this simple tactic and both Smytty and Schultz will score goals.

I would like to see Nugent Hopkins using the Gretzky Half-slapper more,he needs to take more of those opportunitys where he gets free a little extra to do the half-wind-up and let more shots go,they dont need to be barnburners but every shot is a potential goal and there is always a spot or a deflection opportunitty to aim for.

Defenders do not FEAR Nuges shots anymore so they arent giving him the same respect he was getting earlier, the entire team needs to focus on him and get him some goals,he badly needs an offensive revival before seasons end, even if it means taking some risks,he needs to feel those goals going in he needs NHL confidence in is shots, plus he is a puck-genius and could be banking many more shots in off of players and catching tenders off-guard,but to do this he MUST SHOOT,so its time for the coaches and his linemates to support him like they all supported Hall last season.Time to give Nuge some more of the Gravy things are getting a bit dry on is sde of the potatoe heap.

I just watched some old Oilers footage, why dont you try letting J Schultz run the PP from the top corner with him pushing an immediate shooting threat from above the circle? Coffey did it from the left side and Schultz should be good at from the right side hitting those same cross-ice passes on his strong side as Coffey was in the day.

I just actually outlined one of the Dynsaty Oilers favorite plays,ha ha ha,I just have a righty d-man dragging the playaction and coverage over like Coffey used to do then going back against the grain with a cross-ice pass when everyoes skates are set and they have to reach back to get at the passes.Coffey would have skated straight over ,J Schultz has to skate backwards and drag the playaction with him that way so he is on his strong side making the cross-ice pass and doesnt make a poor decision.

Maybe todays PP needs a retro fix,an to be managed from on the board side top of the circle, from the right side with schultzes shot being the primary threat, and everyone playing off of it,or the cross-ice one-timer or the deflections from the short side if there is no big shot for schultz immediatly..

Anything just to get that cross-ice seam pass over to smytty for the deflection-scooper so the PP can move on and we can feed the puck to Nuge for the rest of the season.

Make it a team Mandate,to see how many points and GOALS The Nuge can produce if he is the primary shot catayst ALL THE TIME FOR A FIVE OR SIX GAME STRETCH.I think he can score 4 goals in a game if he is focused on for 60 full minutes.Maybe 5 with Gagner with him on the PP.

Funny isnt how much things change but also stay the same.

There is a malfunction at the Junction here man!!

"This is not an offensive team and it has been about 26 th for the last 5 years?"

The same PP manned by the same men from last season has been used but changed up several times as needed.

Stop pointing the finger at the players.

Someone told this poor bugger coming into the fire that the players were the problem here and that his clear job was to straighten things out at the grassroots level, his marching orders must have simply said,LAY A DEFENSIVE FOUNDATION DOWN NOW AT ALL COSTS.

Someone much bigger than D.E has blinked and is trying to reverse course.

You dont decide how and where you are going to be hit by an opponent until you are ssre that that sacrifice is a contributory factor to your overall victory.

If you dont know how to fight then the best way to learn is to wade in throwing bombs as hard and fast as you can and you will learn on the fly which ones and land which ones do not, your MEMOERY of the experiences will give you the tactical datbase you require.

Dallas is trying to teach he roster how to recognise danger when they are all wired up to CREATE the danger not look for it and run from it.

Obviously Dallas was brought in to battle something external to the roster,an "idea",he was I believe brought in to SNUFF out an idea or a belief that exists within the roster.A belief in offense and in their own abilitys as individuals and as a group to win at the NHL level using these natural and overwhelming skills as a Primary weapon.

The idea that it is better to teach the roster to focus on defense with the thought that the offense will never go away, and that this is the way to bring balance to the team is insanely silly, why exactly do you think the Blues took MPS? For his offense? NOT!! It was for his defensive abilitys.A player with a NATURAL blend of offensive skills but an overwhelming leaning towards overall defense,in a big fast and growing package,a player who comes with a need to build on his offense not his defense, this is why they gave up Perron who is a natural scorer and Jitter-bug.It will be a lot easier in the long run to teach MPS offense than it will be to teach Perron defense.David is naturally offensive and Magnus is naturally defensive. So what do the Oilers do? Why of course trade away some natural defensive ability something which they have an "abundance of huh?"?????????????????????

I understand bringing in the Hendrickses and the ferences, because the additions make sense in that they add some grit to the roster, but this overall,all-out attack on Oilers pride and history and everything else based upon some Round Table Quest for DEFENSE has been an utter failure.Trying to rip the room apart and rebuild it externally by briging in a new Captain and then some henchmen who are more concerned with the Coaches party-line than they are with setteling into the room was a HUGE ERROR.

Making the statement that bringing in a new Oiler then making him Team Captain is a massive statement that cannot be undone, it was as much as said that there was NO SINGLE MAN IN THE OILERS DRESSING ROOM CAPABLE AND ABLE OF BEING A CAPTAIN AND LEADER AT THE NHL LEVEL.

No Dorothy, this one isnt going to scab over and go away.

You didnt have a room full of lukewarm hockey players when you started this mess, you had a room full of 19-20 year old powder kegs looking for an ignition source.

Somebody urinated in the Powder Room and it has taken all the fight out of the soldiers.

Only a defensive thinker who didnt plan on winning anything would see a fight where this one is happening, anyone else would already see it as being a loss and would have changed tactics by now.

One is forced to wonder exactly why this Cooach refuses to publclly say that there has been a monumentel lacking in NHL level offense this season, instead he makes veiled references to coming changes,to eliminating EVEN more men from the roster and replacing them with defensive drones,he makes two-faced spins that appear to make it seem as if the team will really bo looking for more offense next year and will make changes to do this,WHEN IN REALITY he really plans on getting rid of one or two men who "just cant listen to him" this is another Head-Hunt to clean out the room, soon it will will be an empty room and Dallas can begin to build the defensive template which is the only one he can work with.

When you take a Coach who has only a resume of results garnered through AHL defensive work and put him in charge of likely the most offensive group of NHL rookies in decades to be together you have a recipie for absolute disaster no matter how you slice the cheeze.

Who in their right mind would make a move like this and not anticipate the Rookie coaches knee-jerk reactions to make the results reflect a need to eliminate specific players until the Coach has the core HE wants, and is this level of organisational decision making to much for a Rookie head Coach to understand or handle?? Darn rights. Ant the G.M is responsible for watching over the Head Coach and his decisions because ultimately if the Coach screws up so does the G.M.

Dallas has the abilty to weed out men he doesnt like or want on his roster and he can do it from the inside out,he has done this since day one here, tried to uprot and destroy the entire Status Quo which existed prior to his arrival.

We are seeing an incredible roster being whittled down man by man, by a defensive coach who does not understand how to generate NHL level offense and to cover up this imbalance the man is trying to use every bit of his juice and power in every way to structure the locker room the way he wants it,instead of working with what he is given,he is trying to effectively DECIDE what he is given by making calculated decisions from his position,he is trying to handcraft the roster by highlighting playaers weaknesses one by one until he has a Rat-Book on every one of them and can cut their throats at any time he pleases, ice time and systems are used to put players in the light the Coach wants them in,if the Coach wants to highlight specific things he uses ice-time and specific systems to do it and if he wants to paste crap all over specific things he can use ice-time and systems implementation to do exactly this at his will.

Only an experienced roster of defensively coached players will compliment Dallases limited NHL abilitys,so this is the only path he CAN take, there are NO surprises here to be seen.

Dallas was never going to win by focing a defensive gameplan and focus upon this roster, ever, unless he openly came in as a Student of the offensive game and relied on the Players themselves to help him through the learning curve, instead the bed was crapped and he wnet all bi-polar on the roster.

Sometimes bosses just arent that popular, sometimes the fit just isnt right, sometimes there are personality clashes with one or two players, but I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE MAN ENTER A TEAM DYNAMIC AND CAUSE SUCH DISCONTENT with an entire room to the degree that trades are needed just to put a few voices in the room for the Coach..

Sometimes you need to realise that there are a couple of old dogs watching all of this unfold who knew very well how this would turn out. This season is NO SURPRISE to them.

No Quality Head Coaches will come to work here with the upper managment group we have ,it is that simple,no one will allow the levels of interference and uber-control that this regime here requires .

No one wants that type of dysfunctional work-place environment and atmosphere.

Who wants to be hung out to dry? That is the cost of breaking into the NHL as a Head Coach these days? Public humiliation?

The answer to why this team has no offense apparently originates in the fact that they have had no offense for 5 or 6 years huh? Ha ha ha ha.

The reason there is zero offense is because the players are being coached to produce no offense,in an NHL that is evolving towards increased offense as we speak,ha ha ha,that is called retarded growth.

A team can use a 100% defensive System and be experienced and the system well executed, but they will STILL CONSISTANTLY LOSE to a team with a Superior Coach.

The type of System being used and the exact level of execution by the Players are not the Primary factors driving a wining team, the Head Coach and his crews READ and REACT abilitys and acumen functioning that system define winning and losing over 60 minutes of NHL play.

Pretending that DEFENSE is the cure-all is silly and regressive and excusatory.

Does Dallas figure that a perfect defense will make him safe, tht he will not have to do anything but ride herd once the men are PERFECT at playing defense.

I want to see the Dream Team of Gretzky,Messier, and Coffey, and I want to see it next season, and see it announced after the last regular saeson game this year so the Fanbase has an entire summer to bask in the potential of the dynamic.

This doesnt mean I will refuse to support Dallas, I do in fact support him,but there is only so much one can do without being in the loop.

I do like some of the things I am seeing with an Eakins coached team,he delivered on the competative edge and extra pursuit and effort going after pucks.

The guy CAN make system wide changes and the results are definable enough that it is clear he understands how to get his messages across because the players are executing his adjustments.

The issue is a lack of offense and it is related to an inability to make defensive adjustments ,the read and reacts are to SLOW STILL,and this is a Coaching and communications issue,a tactical ability and managment issue, the players can execute the Coaches defensive game plan all night long correctly, but if the opponent Coaches are surgiclly picking the defense apart using Intuitive Dynamic Managment or any consistant managment then you ARE GOING TO LOSE THE GAMES.

Even with a Defensive System the Coaches need to READ AND REACT to opposition Coaching Crews, this is really where the Games are decided.

A defensive System MUST BY PROXY be adjusted EVERY SINGLE TIME an opponent makes a tactical adjustment,a reply is ALWAYS NEEDED.This means that a Coaching crew will HAVE TO make a DEFINED number of READ AND REACTS during every 60 minute game and the total will be determined by unique interactions between the Coaching Crews and the Players who are projecting their particular teams expressed interpretations of what the coaches want to see happening out there.

Since the System doesnt really matter, this leaves the Coaches inability to read and react and compete on an NHL level as the causality of the teams consistant failures,OR,the Players inability to learn and execute basic Hockey plays at the NHL level.

This however CANNOT be parsed into a 50%/50% dynamic. For one simple but critical reason, the Coaches are making decisions from a stable platform and on a different chronological schedule than the Players on the ice are utilising to make their decisions during the same 60 minutes.

This means that even though it seems as though this could be a 50/50 responsibility situation that is not correct because the Coaches are responsible for 75% of the Dynamic due to their decision making inputs and the stability of the platform they deliver this from.

This means that the maximum positive or negative impacts on the teams results that Players execution can impact is 25%.

The Players are working under fluid decision making dynamics in real-time and the Coaches are working under concrete decision making dynamics with an anticipatory forward looking perspective, these ARE VERY DIFFERENT perspectives that need to be working together by osmosis at all times.

So you see the Coaches weild 75% of the impactfull influence during games and therefore must accept 75% of the accountability, and also be empowered by that 75% number because it shows them how much potential they can manifest if they put the effort in.

The Coaches can and do teach multiple ystems well enough that the men are learning them all.

The men are learning and executing multiple systems tactics at an above average rate considering the source to honestly be a Rookie.

One problem is the multiple systems beng taught,it is to much data.
One problem is the multiple system induced VOLUME of "mixed instinctive signals" that the men are being assaulted by when they are at high speeds and under high pressure or even at controlled speeds under high pressure, their instinctive database contains to many solutions for them to react as fast as they potentially could had they utilised and learned on ONE SIMPLE SYSTEM ALL SEASON LONG.

The No-look passing and anticipation needed to execute at NHL levels is a by-product of recognition and repettition, you need to be in control of the dynamic action and momentum and learn to make your decisions from that dynamic perspective,or else you will learn a defensive perspective and will never be able to put it all together and use your offensive built-in instincts to their maximum.

The problem happens to originate here, Dallas is striving for a solid concrete defensive structure,he isnt picky as long as it is solid and based on set plays he can actively and functionally use as a Coach to adjust the impacts on the ice,he is insisting that this is NOT TO MUCH TO ASK and is dug in like a WW2 G.I,he is in a Foxhole and he isnt moving come hades or high-water.

The Players HAVE tried to and have done well at learning multiple defensive systems Dallas has taught, the problem comes up when they are expected to generate NHL levels of offense AFTER they have executed their system induced defensive responsibiitys,----- this is becsue there are only limited and SET-PLAY ways of executing offense out of this defensive Coach mandated system projection------ get it yet? The Players are Pigeon-holed into executing set play offense as they exit their defense first system structures, they have wayyyy fewer choices to utilise, even if the Coach says they have the green-light on offense that statement is meaningless if the Players are Pigeon-holed into a low number of essentially low % offensive thrusts as they exit a leveraged defensive system structure, they can execute these "safe defensive" but weak-kneed and impotent offensive low % playactions for 60 minutes every night and lose every game.

As soon as you mess with the 1st d-zone exit transitions you lose Dallas Eakins,he NEEDS the set play systems impact to be consistant or he cannot effectively coach the team with his skill-set.As soon as you use a set-play system you LOSE the Players. It is this simple and this simple to fix really.

The set-play systems DO NOT support the majority of the skill-sets the roster rightfully posesses. We HAVE THE RIGHT men on board, skill wise. The fact remains that set-play systems do not support creative offensive execution, they support set play offensive execution, and this set play offensive execution breaks the playactions down into more one-on-one dynamics where size becomes the rosters Achillies heel, this roster DOES NOT want to break the game down into one-on-ones unless it has to.

To fix this problem and find ways to get more offense Dallas has tried to learn and use different 1st d-zone exit strategys based on set defensive structure,he has tried to teach multiple set play defensive structures so he would have functional options to use during games the players would all understand, the key here is that the "multiple" systems were ALL SET-PLAY CATALYSED.This means that the Players didnt just have to learn "multiple" defensive set-play systems they ALSO had to learn the exact same number of paralell set-play OFFENSIVE systems, the WORKLOAD WAS DOUBLED.When the cerebral workload is doubled the potential for disconnects or problems or break-downs increases exponentially.

This was a challenge Ralph Krueger was just learning to overcome when we lost him to Politics,Ralph was beginning to recognise the values of and implement NHS tactics, ones the players were already using to some degrees. He was learning a new and fluid way of blending set-play system bases with creative offensive executions. The Players were HELPING RALPH LEARN and if you asked Players what they miss about Krueger it will have something to do with communicating to him in some ways because he was learning from them more than they thought. There were games where Ralph gave the Players fair shots to execute the ways they wanted to try.And the Players EXECUTED TEAMS WHEN THEY WERE ALLOWED TO DO THIS.They didnt just WIN but they played an airtight and impenetrable defense that no team could break. They didnt just create offensive blowouts, they manufactured Air-Tight defense during those games at the same time, the defense was a BY-PRODUCT of the offense and its quality and value corresponeded to the effort and execution levels and the adherence to a KISS system base and the creative offense projected off of it for 60 full minutes. These were the games where Moma2s NewAge Hockey System and its Intuitive Dynamic Managment tactics were being implemented to varying degrees.

Doubeling the cerebral workload slows down the speed of reactions and executions of elite players DOWN INTO THE AVERAGE LEVEL,this is why our highly skilled players dont look that way many nights. They cannot rely on their strengths when there are 2wice as many decisions they need to sift through at high speeds under NHL level pressure, they are being handi-capped by this extra baggage.

The NHS is a System that has 25% of the moving parts that the current systems have, this means that by proxy the NHS is superior, the most pure and basic presentation is usually the optimal one.Pure and basic translate into simple as in KISS.

I agree with all of the defensive details and habits dallas has been teaching, they are not wrong things, but he is showing us the impacts of a very good NHL Assistant Coach right now,he is excelling where he was equipped to excell.

I just believe that dallas does not have the offensive acumen to produce the results needed at the NHL level, and the entire system and roster are being re-structured to support one man,the Coach, his weaknesses are being addressed by adjusting the entire structure and this is setting the organisation up for a disaster down the road.

It is my opinion that if this team cannot produce some serious offensive cohesion by the end of the year Dallas et al. will be gone sooner than later.

The way I see it Dallas needs the NHS to simply survive to fight another day now,he needs to hope and prey that the roster has endorsed enough of the NHS under the Round Table so to speak, that he can jump right in with my assistance and get with the program like he should have at the beginning of the year.

I think the veiled references to changes next season in the Player department to somehow generate more of some particular type of offense are illogical and regressive, and also threatening in nature, this ship is out of control in my opinion.

If there is a case of the Coach or the Core Group going on then can we please lose the Coaches immediatly and stop wasting time already.

Young players today are much more educated and prepared to be complete Hockey professionals long before they reach the NHL,this isnt the 70s anymore Dorothy, and you will not be able to treat these young men like they have been treated for very long.

The young players on the roster have a much more mature and rounded perspective of the NHL game and of their jobs as Athetes and Entertainers than any of their pre-decessors had.

You have taken a group of the best suited and most well intended and hopefull young hockey Talents in a Generation and beaten them to a proverbial pulp, challenged them all to an unfair and rigged fight and tried to lure them into punishment and rebellion when none existed before you got on the scene.

At this point I see no way to repair the damages unless a far-reaching and overpowering influence can re-set everything, beginning with the Locker-room and how it looked pre-Eakins,that was an atrocity and needs to be erased from history, the room needs to be rebuilt back to how it was and then it needs to be moved in its entirity to the new Areana, the Edmonton Oilers have a long and respected History and Identity in the NHL and within its History,PUT THINGS BACK.

Start again,if we want to keep Dallas then we need to lose his boss so he can be forced to change into the Coach this team needs, obviously Dallases Bosses tell him if they are happy with the results dont they?

I am not in favor of dumping the Coach with Eakins any more than I have been with any of the many changes we have seen over the last few decades in Edmonton.I think that ALL of the previous head Coaches were capable, and I think Dallas is Capable, however with one eye always to the future I say,who cares? The NHL evolves and time marches on,none of those Coaches is here and now working in todays NHL with this roster, only Dallas is here doing that.So the issue at hand is how to help Dallas not lose his job and to help him learn to RESPECT and listen to the MEN around him and not be on such a Power trip,he was sandbagged into thinking that the Oilers roster was immature and uncontrolled, and he is still reeling from the effects of that below the belt shot from his bosses,he was misinformed on a lot of issues.

I do not think Dallas can afford to allow the Oilers to adjust to an offensive focus and support it with 100% of his energy and effort as if it were his own choice.I dont think he can fairly put that effort in if he isnt in 100% control. This means that he will run out the games this season and make no changes,he will realy hollow threats to change players next season, something that happens every year.

The DEFENSE FIRST mantra,HAD to make a difference there was no room for regression,if defense was really the primary issue.

The Defense-first Coach,Captain and Hench-man I mean Hendricks have not been able to fix this ship, strangely a leader I was counting on in Gordon has been oddly silent.

You need a consistant system and roster and a coach capable of making NHL level read and reacts who can manage it and that is all you need to be an NHL Playoff team.

The Dynasty Oilers had Wayne on the ice making read and reacts for the coaches Gretzky did it from the bench as well,he took 75% of the Coaches actual work off the table because he was better at it from where he was and because he didnt trust them to run the show properly,he knew the game was optimally managed from the best perspective that supported the best mind which was his mind on the ice.

The defining component of the Dynasty itself was Gretzkys mind, and Sathers ability and willingness to trust that Kids mind more than anything else on the Planet. This created a Perfect Storm in terms of actualised on-ice game strategising and managment, equalled only by todays use of the NHS combined with an optimal game perspective.

The best hockey mind must run the show,it can be on the ice,or on the bench or on my couch in my livingroom, but the best MIND for the Job must be enabled for the team to win games consistantly.

Right now the best NHL hockey minds available happen to be on the ice.But there is no recognition of that fact or ability to optimise it either.

There is nothing Dallas Eakins the Player or the Coach is going to teach these men about defense they havent already learned on their own through a lifetime of coaching. Most of the roster can teach him things about NHL level offense he has no clue about, even our 2nd year offensive men know more than he does.

The question at the end of the day is where you want to take the battle,do you want to be a Castle Builder focused on defense,or do you want to be a Castle-breacher expert at undermining mountains of hard work using your limited resources but superior mind.

Dallas is a Castle -Builder,but 90% of his roster are Castle-Breachers, methinks it cannot be broken down more than this.

The Roster is made up of smart kids not dum-dums,the best of their classes, the best of the best, meaning some of them were nearly as smart as their teachers the days they were drafted, these men have earned more respect than they have been given.

Name one NHL level coach with above average offensive acumen who has had a shot at coaching this core of elite men?

You see the problem runs deeper than the surface here, why no elite offensive coach for these elite offensive men and their minds? Is ownership to cheap?are they freaking deluded to not see the need for this impact immediatly? Are they just stubborn and willing to burn up 1-5 years of elite kids careers while they put their hands down to cover their arses year after year.

The defensive experiment is over and what a waste it was to burn up an entire year on conditioning and competitiveness.

Back to square one,an NHL Coaching mind capable of making elite level read and reacts and running an elite offensive roster using any old system to optimise that tactical mind.

You may add to Dallases read and react acumen offensively to get to this spot or you may replace him,but the current Status Quo was never going to work.

This breaks down to two or three read and reacts per game that are kiling this team and coaching crew, but this is the fine performance line that every NHL team is trying to cross every year.

There are many ways to reach this spot for a team to take, there are long ones and if you are aware and willing short ones to the same destination.

I would call this moment in time CRITICAL for the rosters core, there is no time for a four year re-set,Hall will be an 8 year veteran with no Playoff experience by then, the Roster needs an Advocate more than a taskmaster, bring on the Dream Team so they can properly mentor and support this core of exceptional players before the current managment group implodes the group and we lose another key piece.MPS was enough.

This managment group is trying to create internal challenges so they can win at "anything" to show they are earning their money, they are turning on themselves,it is sad to see.

I do not want to see us lose a Gagner or an Eberle,or a Hopkins or yakupov or Nurse or Eckblad because managment is self-preserving again after decades of watching that happen over and over.

Honestly , if you cannot win with this group you are in trouble.

All of the answers and solutions the Mainstream and Online media suggest include subtraction and additions, while the Moma2s NewAge Hockey System only deals in ADDITION.

ADD the Dream Team,or ADD the NHS, but you need to ADD some willing and motivated offensive mentality to the mix .

The Read and React speeds need to improve substantially of no system or efforts in the world defensive or not will produce NHL wins.

2 or 3 decisions per game need input and there is an organisational groundroots rebellion to prevent this from happening? I would not work under those conditions of suppression.

Prediction.......the rest of the season is a wash, next season starts off just as bad as this one ended, early moves are made to eject specific players, ones with cojones and heart, anyone with an independant voice will be taken out, then after those trades are made the losing will continue untill the half-way point when Dallas will be replaced, and the team will be set back yet another year. One 1st round draft pick shorter and two old top-6 veterans longer.
Please review the Barons roster to realise how dangerous it is for this team to lose a high end offensive player considering the CUPBOARDS ARE COMPLETELY BARE FOR 2 OR 3 YEARS ON THE FARM.

We cannot afford to and do not need to trade any of our core players, we need to keep adding key players, upgrading the skill levels across the board, and we need a new offensively minded input on a game to game basis that the Head Coach MUST listen to.Not want to listen to HAVE TO LISTEN TO.

I know why dallas leaked the organisations intentions on air to be replacing the current "type" of offense with a new different one, he wants players who are like larger versions of Perron and it just aint happening that way, ever.I know what Eakins lobbys Mac-T to aquire, anyone can see the writing on the wall, slow defensive slugs who play like Eakins thinks.Plough to the net.By the way Perron would be layed out in his first Playoff series when teams deny him the net with the body on every possesion, they will headhunt him in the playoffs and sacrifice to take him out,his impact is the easiest to stop because he is to small to project it under physical pressure when opponents will hurt him if they can.Once you get bigger than David you are in Power Forward territory and those are not for sale anywhere at any time, there simply arent enough of them with the size/speed/reflexes combo.

Bring Mitch Moroz in ASAP and lets see what he can do on the 2nd line with gagner and Yakupov, oops I mean DONT DO THAT,I dont want to see anyomre prospects put into this weird science type of environment, let them be until we see a new Coaching crew come in.Spare them the dysfunction.Bring in a real offensive NHL Coaching crew and THEN put Moroz on Gagners wing with Yakupov on the other side.Better yet GET MPS BACK ASAP, and plant him back on the 2nd line.

The pick will be difficult at the draft,Eckblad is a starter next season and Draisalt or whatever plays a delayed buttonhook type of game which could be a natural fit here if this coach used a version of the NHS.If he specialises in this style and it has taken him this far mayyybe it will translate to the NHL within the right system with the right wingers to support, guys who can bury the pucks.

Nuge is an elite button-hook player and we have erased his impacts with this coacing crew,so maybe forget anything offensive for now.We cannot even support the best most skilled player I have seen wear an Oilers uniform since Wayne gretzky was here,so what hope would another kid have here?None.

I would NEVER have predicted a regression for nearly the entire core group this season,NOTHING would have led me to this conclusion, not even a Rookie Coach, but we got a Rookie who had below average offensive acumen to begin with ,we took a defensively loaded one with a glaring offensive lackings and weakness that has submarined our entire plan of action now.

Ryan Nugent Hopkins -- regressed
Nail Yakupov -- regressed
J Schultz -- regressed
Jordan Eberle -- regressed

I will stop there, enough is enough already huh?

These are not bumps on the curve these are REGRESSIONS.These men have lost a full step now.

They will not recover because it was the Coaching that lost them the steps,Taylor Hall will be in deep trouble next season keeping his production on par, this season Nuge and Eberle covered for him and let him run the show, but it may cost one of them their job,sad but true, and nothing will change next year because it is the coach and the system which forced this one trick pony offense to happen across the board.

You could put two plough-horse old veterans with Hall and he would produce, same with a 2nd and 3rd line and this is what Eakins wants to do,he wants to trim away two or three kids and replace them with veterans surrounding just 2 of the current core group.

DO NOT DO IT KATZ.

DO NOT TOUCH THE CORE-- lose the coach who cannot connect with them, anything else would be derelict,Dallas does not have the resume to justify any more changes to support his aspirations and dreams, this has been one of the most irresponsible and derelict things Oilers managment has ever done in allowing a Rookie Coach to have ANY DEGREE of decision making power over his roster,a Head Coach should have NO SAY AT ALL over the men he has to work with,NONE AT ALL.And if the coach tries blackballing men by screwing with their ice-time and opportunitys then the coach must be sent packing ASAP.

On team with ONE SINGLE elite player well respected and successfull coaches have been removed due to personality conflicts,on a team with 3 or 4 elite players comminication is paramount and unfortunately this Coach is done like Dinner.

If mac-T wants to go down with this ship then I FOR THE FIRST TIME suggest he sign off his watch.I am holding Mac-T accountable, even though his bosses will not.

If Mac-t wants to play the "bad players in the room" card then he can hit the road with Dallas and his crew.

If K-Lowe wants to play the "I am supporting Mac-T and Dallas "card then he can pack his suitcase as well and get out of Dodge with the rest of them.

The Ranks of this managment team need to seperate. Someone must be accountable for this mess of epic proportions.

If it is an all-or-nothing scenario being pushed by managment as a group ,then I would like to see resignations from the POHO,G.M and Head Coach along with his entire crew.

I am tired of defending the roster from the coach and managment ,i want to defend against opponents already, this is soooo dysfunctional man!!!!

To be frank this scenario is like a bad divorce, the papers have been served and the seperation is final but no one is moving out--- to be sure someone will eventually,it is just a matter of how long the grieving process will take.So who leaves, players or Coaches? We all knew it was going to come down to this and we all know upper managment has intentionally allowed this discontent to foster and grow so they can divide and conquor the men they pay to work for them, this managment group is so paranoid that they are worse than the Gestapo they are more worried abput internal policing than winning battles against the enemy.

My money says that if something real and tangible isnt done that Hall, then Yak,then Ebbs will want to leave for brighter pastures and rightfully so.Schultz,Nurse or Eckblad if we get him will be next to jump ship.

If someone isnt already talking to these men and relaying this very intention,to bring in offensive mentoring and support from a Coaching and managment level which will optimise and highlight individual players strengths and make them more valuable and marketable NHL assets then all is already lost, this isnt a question of if the changes are needed ASAP it is WHEN the pin will be pulled, and that will only be known by the Players some wise Oilers asset takes aside over the next few weeks and tells the truth or intentions to to prevent an all-out rebellion.

No point in playing footsies anymore, this is a personality conflict with to many men which will not be resolved easily and a Coach/Roster mis-match that Mactavish SHOULD have seen coming but did not note.

My prediction is that it might be pretty hard being an Eakins supporter in that dressing room by the half-way point of next season when the roster is holding a playoff spot under a new Coaching Crews guidance.

I never say never, and even though dallas is one track minded, there is a kernel of hope, but the changes must come immediatly and I just dont see it,it is the men who need to be won over not the system, and I just dont see upper managment allowing Eakins to squirm out of the kill-zone they lured him into, they will not let him wriggle out,as soon as Ralph began to make the correct changes he was singled out and run off, there is a dark oilluminatti side to the organisation and it is the Primary driver,it will take a true hero to clean out this nest of scorpions.Dallas was given a chance to break into the NHL and at the end of the day no one can blame him for a failed Rookie year,he gets a Mulligan at the expense of Halls and Nuges and Yakupovs and the entire rosters careers.A free year to screw up,must have been nice to have that lattitude huh?The Oilluminatti knew things would play out like this ,that Eakins first year blunder was yet another rock to hide that slimy sluggish body of work under. They used him as cover,as a patsy. And he was willing to dance with the Devil. No harm no foul huh?The Fans pay,the Players play and the managment group survives at a cost to all that no one illustrates fully.

Just another day at the office huh?

Oh yea,the last score was 5-0, DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!!

With 7 games to go there is nothing to do but wait to see where the chips may fall.

On the upside we can all watch how easy it is to walk a team to the Stanley Cup from right here, the Blues are primed and ready to roll over the rest of the NHL as we speak. All they require is some solid FAN support and the right read and reacts to win the Cup.

Both of which they will find right here waiting for them.

It IS that easy.

That was an Oilers hockey game.

The loss was on Oilers terms, we were in our comfort zone and it was a one goal game,as long as this roster is learning to win and lose using its strengths and not trying to play against their natural tendencies then the wins will begin to pile up.

The 1st line looked awsome,Hall and Eberle had their best games of the year and Nuge was finally showcased as the offensive weapon we NEED him to be.

Had we had yakupov healthy and a more suited winger ]Mps] for the 2nd line we likely could have won that game, our 1st line outplayed their 1st line and the rest was about depth, the Sharks know where we are and you could read it all over their coaches post-game presser.

Overal, that was a very fun game to watch and I never felt that the Oilers were out of it,I had the feeling that they were hunting not being hunted, they were bringing it hard and you could feel it.

I know Dallas was letting some things happen last night that he had been preventing earlyier in the season, and that was a step forward,a baby step towards learning the offensive side of the NHL.

The Refs called the game the right ways,we were outpaying the Sharks and they had the home field advantage, they are a top team and to beat them coming from our position in the standings we needed to take it out of the hands of the refs and have a 2 goal or greater lead to seal the deal.

Mr Petry seems over his head on some plays where he isnt clearing the net front using physiclity, hopefully one of the young studs develops into a physical force , to bad fraser wasnt more skilled because his attitude around the net is what we are missing in the top 2 pairing.Instinctive clearing, hard hits, but after all Jumbo is Jumbo man what can you do about the beast.Containment is the best option.

Now that was a competative game where we made them score with us,where they didnt keep us on our heels playing defense all night, THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF COMPETE WE WANT TO SEE WITH THE KIDS WE HAVE.BALLS TO THE WALL HOCKEY.Let the chips fall where they may after we have taken our best shots at you,NOT after we have taken everything you can pile on top of us.

It is easier for nearly every team without our offensive abilty to play defense for 60 minutes,so obviouslt we do not want to do that.

Everyone knows you live by the Sword and you die by the Sword, its about time this team pulled out its Sword and started waving it around a little bit.

Dallas,I read you post-game,I feel you man.

Listen Pal,Hockey is a selfish game, maybe the most selfish one on the Planet. On offense all you do is take take take, and on defense all you do is take take take,it is a game about taking things from others, thats what drives the game itself, selfishness, thisis why men are applauded for being self-less and distributing the puck and sharing in the Glory.

When you are in the business of taking things from people history tells us that the Run-and-Gun style is the most usefull unless you are very large, fast and smart, therefore naturally I expect to see the Oilers playing a Run-and-Gun style,a peek-a-boo style like they were trying to play last night, offense first and defense second.

You dont take thngs from anyone by running backwards, you need to keep your face into the wind and charge forward consistantly, with your eyes wide open and your head on a swivel.

When this team plays in a Forward direction its leaders rise to the top according to their strengths, last night the 1st line provided what I EXPECT FROM THEM NOW,we were MISSING our 2nd line which was key to last years successes. This team needs its men doing the correct jobs as per their abilitys.

All we need to di is find a left winger for gagners line with Yakupov and we are set,Perron hasnt established the chemistry due to his size and style, either we base the 2nd line on Perrons direct attack or we look for another MPS to support Gagner and Yakupov who can essentially give us a 1b line if we build around yakupovs shot and gagners craftiness and add a defensive big fast winger to support them.Darn you guys MPS was picture perfect.

we need a physical naturally inclined net clearing top 2 d-man who doesnt need to change his game to give us this, and we need a left winger who fits an offensive 2nd line and a right winger for the 3rd line, you see this is how the Oilers need to play, many Coaches would look at our 1st line and say that it was enough to build off of and would try to surround that line with a 3 line supporting cast like most teams have to do,we DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY IT LIKE THAT, because we have more juice than they have ,and NO we dont hae to wait ten years for Jumbo and Marleau to mature,we HAVE THE JUICE RIGHT NOW.The 2nd line needs to be worked on and the 3rd line needs to be worked on,Perron now has Hemskys job of catalysing the 3rd line because we need size and speed and the big mans influences on the 2nd line,we need to keep Gagner and Yakupov tohether there and ADD to them.So add in the man who will play with Gordon and Perron on the OFFENSIVE 3rd line and we are moving in the right directions.

Obviously trying to spread the minutes out across 4 lines isnt going to cut it with an offensive team, and running our best players to death on the PK will not cut it either,we need our weapons FRESH,dont tell me we cannot find the men to kill penaltys while we keep some of those weapons fresh and focused on offense and not defense.

On that note our PK is anemic and in an NHL where shorthanded goals are bcoming an important impact this needs to be addressed at some level .

As per last night AFTER THE ADJUSTMENTS we can now see the impacts of shortening the rink and using the standup defense combined with a suited forecheck.
You dont get to enter our zone without paying some type of a price, and you never take as many men over the blueline as you run at it,never, and if you dont gain the o-zone you dont get to use momentum and break our blue-line and take terminal shots, simple.

I saw some really no not really ,some EXTREMELY positive things last night, whatever was adjusted was in the right areas.

Hall and Ebbs had their best games of the season for some reason and I hope they continue where they left off, it is to late this season but the line needs to take turns using each other as the killing blade, they need to sort out how each of their individual strengths can be used against which opponents in the best ways, and then the 2nd line needs to do the same and then the 3rd line as well.Player familiarity is key with a skilled roster.

Plug and Play players play on plug-and -play teams.Skilled players use chemistry and instincts to optimise their skillsets and potentials.

Skilled players engage you and then immediatly begin to make small adjustments on every shift. They do not engage you and draw a line in the sand, they STICK AND MOVE AND STICK AND MOVE.

Dallas has added a fearlessness and drive that was not here earlier, the kids have taken a step forward in that department, the way they played the Sharks shows us this.

Now the key will be to keep this momentum and add a massive dose of "coming to get ya' offensively to our gameplan.

Wingles and dejardas goals were stoppable, they were a result of not being naturally physical around the net,a physical impact would have taken those goals off the board IMHO.
If we are going to take penaltys please lets take them in that area, hammer guys to the ice,it isnt rocket science,if men are keeping their sticks up to defend their upper bodies they cannot get to the pucks,so if the opponent is big you MUST hammer on him and not try to just take his stick away stick-on-stick, keep going for his top half so he has to raise his arms,it isnt about moving him completely,it is about making him get his stick off the ice so he cannot get greasy goals, usually being smashed off balance does that, not neccesarrily moving yhe man 4 feet over, just using your impacts to stop him from being effective from where he is.If I hit you in the upper body on your stick anchor side you need to life your arms and hands to defend yourself,it is a natural overriding instinct,so make this happen, then the choice is the opponents either lift those arms starting with your stick anchor side or get smash-mouthed,aim for the area of the chest just below the line of the shoulders, you are looking to knock BALANCE away not the entire man, just keep working the sucker back and forth like a teeter-totter.I have watched many many average sized NHLers do this effectively,While no one has really ever been able to move men like Jumbo consistantly, hockey is a game of balance and edges,so lets get some planning in action here and start working on the right things with the men in practises.

This team has a 1st line that allows it to roll 3 offensive lines,we have so much juice coming so early that we are better served throwing hard offense from all 3 main lines.Teams cannot ice the defense to stop a 3 line offensive juggernaught. Most teams cannot ice this level of offense past their 1st line,so no it isnt a common gameplan but it is OUR most optimal one.It isnt an either or issue here,75% or more of NHL teams CANNOT use these all-out offensive tactics, this is where our EDGE happens to be,like it or not.If 75% of teams are not using the pressure we are then 75% of the NHL teams ARE NOT practising to stop us,do you understand this?

I can tell during post-game interviews what opponents really think of the Oilers roster, and let me tell you this, some of the best players in the game, the ones most likely to be upfront and honest to the media are giving us due respect, they see and feel what we have cooking now and are in awe and wonderment that the Coaches havent dialed this group in yet, opponents of quality can feel the power we can put on the ice,and they all know very well what is coming down the pipe sooner than later with this roster, they canot hide their body language and tones of voice.

WE ARE STILL COMING.

Next season we will be coming harder than this season, and once this team gets its feet under it and starts the season solidly the NHL will learn what this team organisation and City have been working on for the last 8 years.Yes it has been a long dry stretch, but boy oh boy willit be nice next season to see this roster healthy and clicking on all cylinders early,if anything has been learned over the last 4 years by this group it is the importance of a good and early start in the NHL schedule. The first 15 games are as important as the last 15 games when you are trying to make the Playoffs.

At the end of the day there are less than 7 games left to watch, and after a season of seeing defensive crap shoved down everyones gullets,I am more than glad to see this season end,and if next year is the same i will have to make a decision about how much hockey I watch because i WILL NOT RE-LIVE THIS NIGHTMARE AGAIN.I WILL NOT remain a dedicated fan if this core is taken apart to build a veteran old lineup that will make the playoffs or 2 years and then be disbanded. This team and roster cannot stay intact if defense is our caling card,so in a nutshell,if next season is another defensively focused wash I am considering getting off the bus for a year or three until some major changes happen.

I see this season as another growing season in that the team learned to be harder on the puck for longer and learned to pursue with extended energy, all important things, but al of the politics and picking on men and playing freaking head games with the defensive crapoola was not needed and didnt accomplish anything, next season we will be icing a team with veteran core players in their 3rd and 4th years, the worm has turned and it is time for a new page to be flipped here, back to All-Out offense, with the publiclly stated intentions of doing just that.

If we are going down next season we will be going down swinging for your chin to knock you right the heck out .Not swinging wildly or at your ribcage to let you know we are there in a competative way.

Oilers hockey means COMING RIGHT AT YOU,and forcing you to react to us how WE WANT YOU TO.That is how the Oilers dance starts,WE LEAD,not the other way around.

Truth be told,we lost our 2nd line early this season and no ne knew how to recover from that.we lost MPS and that set things far back for Gagner and Yakupov, then we tried to bubble-gum and duct-tape a 2nd line together and that bombed, had things been managed properly we would have been prepared to insery Arcobello into gagners spot seamlessly ,but as we saw without MPS anchoring the 2nd line with his size speed and defensive awareness and without gagners Veteran smarts and line managment Yakupov was left stranded and to top it off he was hammered to snot by a Rookie coach who didnt take the time to learn about the men he was managing, about what made them all tick.Without a properly constrcted and managed 2nd line we became a one-trick defensive minded pony and we were worked over like rented Mules all season long. The 1st line struggled early, the 2nd line was de-constructed completely and the 3rd line was alright.WTF happened boys??/

Next season we need to have a better overall season template, many many things are lacking in this equation, traditional basics and non-traditional concepts the NHL is evolving into.

We need the 1st,2nd,and 3rd lines SET,and we need to be able to replace each players individual strengths ASAP when injuries happen,so we need solid concrete templates to work off of and to support,NOT the mish-mash we saw this season for many different reasons.

The 1st line is intact and elite, the 2nd line has gagner back and now needs Yakupov, then add a proper winger to them and things are set, maybe Moroz who knows,I say trade for MPS and get him back he was perfect and still is.But that 2nd line belongs to Nail Yakupov until he challenges for the 1st line minutes, but considering what Sam and he can generate they are better anchoring the 2nd line.

The defense is finally leaning towards the stand-up impacts which supports the overall offensive tilt of the roster and supports a shortened rink where the main focus is between the bluelines, where skill and talent rise to the top every night and they are highlighted by elite backchecking and what some might call defensive support.

The odd thing is that we have found ourselves at this spot for quite a few years now,and the only thing I have NOT seen is a 100% comittment to offense by managment,we have used the cautionary approach for 4 years now,why not try the last trick in the bag,GO ALL-OUT OFFENSE LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE 4 YEARS AGO.

Puking up all of this defense first BS is just setting the bar low on purpose, this roster does not need the bar set lower,it needs it set higher.

Next season I say aim for 4 goals per game minimum and let the chips fall where they may,we need to find a way to feast on the middeling teams to make our bones in the NHL,this means NO WE DONT NEED ALL-STAR DEFENSE,we simply need more offense than the bulk of the teams we need to take points from,we DONT HAVE TO PLAN TO DEFEAT THE TOP 5 NHL TEAMS EVERY NIGHT TO GET SHOTS AT THEM USING OUR OWN STYLE.Let them work on defense to make it to the playoffs and we will use offense, and we will see who is more right during the Playoffs wont we?Under the pressure of Playoff Hockey it is much harder to maintain an airtight defense than it is to let it all hang out and go big guns on offense. It is a mental issue.Just that alone makes me take the offensive road every time.

Everyone knows that come playoffs teams try to become more defensive,so why take the road most travelled? It will take you where most teams end up and only one gets the Stanley Cup,so why not forge your own path to where you want to get to?Dont have a Pack mentality, think ahead of the Pack, work at getting ahead of the Pack.Seperate yourselves from the Pack, find more room to run faster and further, use offense to take you there,be SELFISH,TAKE as many goals and points as you can take, have NO MERCY,run scores up,do not let upo one bit over the entire 60 minutes, take what dallas has added copetatively and use it optimally,to DRIVE THE OFFENSE HARDER FOR 60 MINUTES.DO NOT EVER SLOW DOWN EVEN IF IT IS 7-1 KEEP SCORING BECAUSE THAT IS YOUR JOBS NOT BECAUSE YOU HATE THE OPPOSITION.
Trying to change your game when you have a 2 or 3 goal lead to defense is regressive, you want to make it a 4 or 5 goal lead,RESPECT YOUR STRENGTHS and the work you accomplish,ADD to it do not detract from it by turteling into a defensive mode ,ever. There are only 4 or 5 teams in the NHL with the horses to evenly run with us,this means we should be in the Playoffs every year if we use our strengths and push 100% offense for 60 minutes.

EVERY game opponents should be MOST CONCERNED with NOT run-and-gunning with us,that must be their PRIMARY concern.Once we establish this dynamic then we are leading the dance, and lets face it no one really comes out and jams defense into your face, you must bring it to them for defense to work out for them,so unless you are a defensive focused team why would you EVER want o get into a defensive showdown?we do not want to be in close 1-1 or 2-1 games,we want blowouts every game and we are prepared to accept our losses based on that concept.we dont care what the score looks like when we lose,it matters not if it is by 1 or 5 goals,BUT when we win we want it to be as lopsided as we can make it be,we NEED to use and reinforce our strengths.

Dallas Eakins made an accurate but misrepresented statement the other day,he mentioned that this team is not offensive and that is hasnt been for 5 or 6 years, and he was DEAD ON THE MONEY,but all this illuminates is the FACT that the Oilers have NEVER brought in a pure offenisvely minded coaching crew to run this group,NEVER,and this is derelict managment at its best.I am not sure how Dallas was trying to spin that one but all I got was validation of this lack of offensive managment acumen and ability that the club has suffered for a decade.

Who would expect any sane person to believe that the roster is underperforming in any ways when the last 4 coaches have been Pat Quinn,Tom Renney,Ralph Krueger and Dallas Eakins?????????????????????????????????????????

Please show me how and where these Coaches fit into any sort of OFFENSIVE category???????????????????????????????

You see people this roster HAS NEVER BEEN GIVEN PROPER MANAGMENT ASSETS that fit the skillsets and mentalitys which are naturally above average as in "#1 overall pick above average", player potential and ability is not and never was a debatable point.Managment has made this a point but only this season.

NO ONE KNOWS what this exact roster could accomplish with an offensively minded Coaching crew now do we?So someone please explain the rationale behind pushing for a more defensively focused group and system presentation?????? All Oilers managment has ever done is play it safe and defensive with this group of elite young players,no one has ever RIDDEN THIS HORSE,they have just fought it and led it around by the nose, lets get on this sucker and see what it can do,bring on the Dream Team, gretzky,Messier,Coffey,a hard group to envision working seamlessly together but still the purest offensive group of Hockey Minds on the planet, and then we can all sit back and scratch our heads when they teach the men a SUPERIOR MANNER OF CREATING ELITE DEFENSE BY MAKING IT SECONDARY TO AN ELITE OFFENSE.

The Dream Team will teach the roster the hockey equivilant of the 5-finger Death Punch.Exactly what they need to learn and exactly what they can accomplish with the right guidance.

You see fellow hockey fans it is tis way,YES you could take Dallases exact perspective and win NHL games, but to do it you would need to de-construct the roster and that was NEVER an option and CAN NEVER become one.The Oilers do not have the Managment acumen or right asset to teach the current roster how to effectively use Dallases style simply because Dallas is not experienced enough to adjust HIS methods to fit the men he is managing,it is not a surprise dynamic here,Upper managment knew this was coming down the pipes.

Any System can produce wins,if managed properly,YES a man could walk into the Oilers room and show them how to turn Dallases EXACT perspective into a winning platform USING THE PRESENT AND EXACT ROSTER if one has the player valuation and managment skillset to get it done ,in fact it would be no more or less difficult than adjusting ANY teams System focus.

This would mean that BOTH Dallas and the Roster would need to change,Dallas more than the men,in fundamentel ways. This is a doable thing, but NOT WITHOUT INTERVENTION of an EPIC nature.

It would be a huge Challenge for even me to bring this group together in time for next season,I am calling it right now, this organisation needs to be beginning the most serious job of creating the EXACT TEMPLATE IT WANTS ITS TEAM TO FOLLOW NEXT SEASON,the time really is now, even at that it will be an epic job.

I can see Gretzky,Messier, and Coffey stepping righ in and out-performing Dallases crew next season if Dallas and the men do not recieve a serious influx of hockey-smart influences they will not progress next season.

For the record I learned this while working on the Oil Rigs as a Motor-man many years ago.I had been promoted quickly on the job,4 months from seeing a Rig to working Motors on one ,with NO PRIOR MECHANICAL experience,it is what it is,but I was green when it came to managing other employees and that was part of my job so I had to learn on-the-fly.I quickly realised that I was having problems getting things done on time whenever i allocated duties to my usually most experienced and prepared men, things just never got done at the speeds I was very well aware they could safely and efficiently be done in,in fact I noticed a pattern, nearly every duty i needed done was done in an exact average time-frame or period, there was no great deviation created by my putting the most experienced and equipped men on the task, good men who I knew were smart and able.It was a conendrum.

My best men who should have been putting me ahead of the curve via my optimal managment of their skillsets and documented abilitys, however they uniformly had taken it upon themselves to self-manage themselves according to the timelines they valuated a lesser experienced hand could do the job in and they were "skimming time" off of my expected potential workdays I organised for them.

These men were not just RIG-SMART------they were also RIG-WISE,very very very different things as I learned.

A Rig-Smart man is at the start of the learning curve,is motivated and aware and capable,he will optimise his time because he values it as a learning experience as much as a paid duty.He will not simply try to execute his duties safely and efficiently within a given time-frame,he will try to better this performance envelope nearly every time and any devience from this pattern might indicate an area of concern to be looked into. This man is predictable and easily managed, not as experienced as to be able to self-manage but reliable .

A Rig-Wise man is BACK on a spot of the learning curve that he has already passed once,he not only knows the job at hand but he is well versed and able in nearly every area of the pre-/-post duties as well,he knows at least two or three ways to accomplish nearly every duty asked of him and has excellent decision making lattitude to decide which presentation to use and when,This man is able to self-manage and also to completely manage the Workplace responsibilitys from top to bottom. This man is very reliable,in that he will consistantly get the job done but he will retain the right to run his own Micro-show in terms of timing and time managment,This is a window of opportunity for weakness to creep into the chain of command if this man doesnt stay focused and motivated and driven,to learn as well as complete the job adequately.

Rig-Wise experienced men in general are equally as challenging to manage as Rig-Smart green hands who are all ears and eyeballs,if you fail to valuate and optimise each mans natural strengths you have disconnects coming from internal places you might not expect to originate in.

The Oilers organisation as a whole is comprised of to many Hockey-Wise men,to many micro-shows are being run independantly of one another here.

Yes,you can manage this group of Hockey-Wise men but they need a specific managment style to optimise them all,in short they are as a group OVERQUALIFIED,so new and unusual micro-duties need to be CREATED to find ways to keep their minds busier.

You COULD add enough Hockey-Smart men to the equation and wait for nature to take its course and balance things, the long way,and it will work if the right volume of new blood is brought in.

IT IS NO EASIER TO MANAGE A HOCKEY-WISE ROUND TABLE THAN A GREEN GROUP OF HOCKEY-SMART NEWBIES.

So whoever manages this group needs to read this.

It is the things experienced men are NOT DOING that is catalysing your disconnects, and the reasons they are not doing the right things to the right degrees at the right times are reasons only an experienced Manager would recognise and pin-point the origins of.

One might equate the managment with the exact same dynamic problems as the Roster, all the same types of thinkers naturally.

The irony is in the fact that a TREMENDOUS amount of years of time and effort were put into bringing together these two groups of INTENTIONALLY LIKE-MINDED MEN,and those decisions were ALL THE RIGHT ONES.These ARE the right men for their jobs.

So who in their right mind would split up the core of Players or the managment group when the only think wrong is that they are not being managed optimally, all they need is someone smart enough to out-smart them and keep them on task and involved at al times. No human being can do this alone, you need a Program,Moma2s NewAge Hockey System.

You have one proponent of the NHS who is well versed already on the ice making tremendous impacts when things are managed consistantly with him.You need EVERYONE thinking the same basic way now.

The same cure fits both groups,a SUPERIOR MANAGMENT PROGRAM based on Intuitive Dynamic Managment will stabilise then optimise both groups of likeminded men and then bring themtogether seamlessly.

Champions and Winners ADD to their programs and futures they do not think in terms of subtraction.Subtraction is a regressive mindset and perspective, and leaving things in your dust is not subtraction in the conventional sense so when you ADD something superior nature drops something off and leaves it in your tracks.

Just ADD the NHS and its Intuitive Dynamic Managment program and apply it to the organisations Super-Structure where it will have the same impacts on everyone at the same times and to the same degrees.

Everyone on the Oilers from Katz to the Fans to the Players and the Equipment manager needs a fresh start, this is a simple issue to resolve,it is a communication and managment issue, the Cure is simple.

Bring in a Consultant to do an organisational Super-Structure Valuation and ask them to provide you with the Template as well as several alternative and progressive or optimal Templates you may choose to move forward with.

What is there to be afraid of? No one is really going to come in and challenge anyones acumen or suitability or right to their jobs, not at all, there is no Witch-hunt in this addition.

No one is bringing in some secret NHL Hockey Icon or Genius to rip new orfices for everyone,in facvt it would be hard to bring in a more experienced and able group to do that with.

There is one single-focus,single-purpose,single-direction managment philosophy behind every Winning Dynamic,in every sport and in every competition.

If this Winning Formula is applied liberally to the Oilers Organisation ASAP,then it will begin to stabilse immediatly as well.

Moma2s NewAge Hockey Systems Intuitive Dynamic Managment Program is this Winning Formula that is required at this point.

It is Unique,NewAge,Cutting Edge,Revolutionary, and best of all it is AVAILABLE.

A tablet of Antibiotic may seem like it isnt a solution to an epic problem, until it is injested that is,at which point realisation sets in.

Dont Judge a Book by its Cover, this means that the biggest diamond on the Planet will never be found in a jewellery store, because it hasnt been found yet,you need to SEARCH for the BEST things in the world and the bar is always going UP not DOWN.

If you are a Billionaire and you want to give your wife the best of the best on the Planet, you my friend will need to invest in the best Diamond mine on the Planet just to buy a ticket to get the CHANCE to MAYBE find the Biggest and Best Diamond in the world.

You will of course have already bought her the Best and Biggest one from the available market, but as any winner knows, todays best is Tomorrows Not Good Enough,so forward motion is always needed.

The NHS and Intuitive Dynamic Managment are the Mine the Oilers need to buy to see if they can hit the jackpot and discover something no one else has, they already have sure bets as assets, now they need to reach forward into the Future and the NHS,and to do that they need to PA YAY PAY.Nothing of tangible value is free, and no one else has anything remotely close the the NHS and Intuitive Dynamic Managment to offer because one mind catalyses this perspective, one man alone.

Ask Darryl katz how much money he invests in managment acumen within his personal Empire, just ask him how much value he puts on the managment of his money, then do a quick Valuation of the Oilers fiscal value, likely over 250 million dollars. Now calculate how much money is currently spent managing that volume of money, the TOTALITY of every single step on managment where an increase of salary is present and paid for.Take that number and cut it in half.It will be a very very large number.I dont just mean Managment from an accounting perspective,I mean every level and iota of managment within the Superstructure will be Optimised and streamlined.Change from within is the only true and impactfull change.

Now consider this,I will accept renumeration based on the reduction of Managerial numerical fiscal dollars spent managing this 250 million dollars and an equal and exponentiall paralell dollar amount based on increased fiscal revenues for that same year.I will require a 4 year option allowing ME to chose the year I am renumerated based upon,I will be paid based upon the optimal year of a 4 year program. So basiclly the greatest reduction in managerial overhead will be paid to me dollar for dollar,If the Managing costs as defined are reduced by 2 million dollars in year 3 then at the end of the 4 year contract I will be paid the exact amount of the optimal reduction or 2 milion dollars. In terms of the increases in revenues,I will do the same thing,I will take the Optimal INCREASE from year one that occurs during the 4 year contract and will accept payment of that dollar amount be it five thousand dolars or five million dollars.i will require a reasonable Salary to be paid during the entirity of the 4 year contract duration, the majority of my fiscal requirements beyond the core Salary will be deferred and 100% results based.I know what can be accomplished at both ends of the business spectrum overhead and earnings, and I simply have a superior perspective and product to offer .

Darryl , you fellas think to small, imagine if in one of those 4 years the Oilers made the Finals and won the Cup???Imagine if they simply made the playoffs next season?? There is nothing but upside here, and everything I do is results based,so your risk is minimal,my deferred payoff potentials will not come from your pockets,in fact youe either save more or earn more on both ends of the deal,I must over-achieve on both ends of the spectrum to earn money and it wont even be your dollars paying me.

All you need to do is " Help Me Help YOU",that is all.
This is not a traditional place to find assets so dont expect any traditional formailitys or presentations to come your way any time soon, this is not the Traditional Business World anymore. Its a Jungle out here man and if you want to play with the Big Dogs you need to learn to urinate in the tall grass. You are now in the Diamond Mine Darryl, nothing is guaranteed but the payoffs are unimaginable.

If you want to play ball then come outside and dont be shy, post up,leave a number. And remember that I am ALWAYS on a tight schedule,I have a lot of things on the go,so dont expect social visits,I want to get to the point so I can stop bloody posting about hockey finally.

Dont forget to watch the Blues walk to the Cup,it will be boring and one-sided,but predictable.

In the o-zone when you have a nicely balanced rush closing into the zone, have the puck carrier suddenly stop and take a snapper at the far low post or far side post/in shot, Just stop and pop in the middle of the zone because their d-men are collapsing together laterally very well, just enter the o-zone 3 men wide and as you all close on net together you will be pushing their coverage back evenly,so if you see the chance in that situation simply stop and pop the puck into the fars side, the tender will be deep and in a bad position because he will have timed his collapsing defense and your incoming rush, you will catch him flatfooted and frozen in a bad position where he is to far into his net and the far side post/in is open all day long.

Just make sure you use this play when you have a solid lateral o-zone entry, because that is what will essentially freeze the tender for you.And stop and pop in mid-zone where you have the most to shoot at,mid-zone and slightly off of center to catch the far post shooting back across the grain.

Their d-men arent engaging physiclly and are letting you shoot so this means they are playing off of your spheres of influence to much, they are in essence cheating, this means if you come in with good speed they will be backing in consistantly and you can stop and pop the shot on net any time you want to,and their support coming in is also cheating body position and running interference on the men behind you so you wont get run over to make this play.

Keep everything the same things look good, just add this little stop and pop shot because their system is set up to give it to you,in essence this play will let you victimise the tender like opponents victimised Dubby with the md-zone shots that caught him in transition, but you wont be trying to catch the tender in transition you will be freezing him deep enough in his net to pick the far post anywhere from ice level to top corner.

Remember this only works well with 3 man lateral o-zone entrys that back their defense in evenly.

Like I said dont change anything, the team looks good out there.

The Ducks are refusing to get into a run and gun with us,so they re trying to slow the game down, they are hoping to keep er easy until late in the game and then hit you with a Sellanne goal or another type of experienced based input,
They are playing possum on purpose,it is their coaches tactical mind,he is trying to outhink us, if I wasnt seeing such nice team cohesion right now I would say OPEN IT UP ON THEM THERE IS ONLY A FEW GAMES TO GO NOW, seriously why not turn it into a RUN-AND-GUN on them and rip them into OUR COMFORT ZONE .................and maybe do it just because they dont want to, lets drag them into deep waters early on, make them work for the points,we have nothing to protect now,we have no nerves,so lets use theirs against them, the value of the 2 points is making them sit back,so OPEN ER UP BOYS.

You WILL TAKE MORE PENALTYS because of our position in the standings,if you dont take the game out of the Refs hands the same high penalty dynamic will occur again like last game.

Marten-up ok?

OPEN IT UP ON THEM,so when you take the penaltys it is because you are defending after running it at them hard,I would rather see a high % chance for us because we are gunning and take a penalty on an overt trip stopping a breakaway than see us get a poor chance and then take a weak penalty messing around playing tag with the puck.

Play Oilers hockey, keep ever thing the same tacticlly, just open it up as you exit the n-zone more often, wide open, hit 4th gear just as you approach the end of the n-zone.Dont mess with anything else,I do not mean open it up everywhere I mean on the last transition, pick your spot open it up early in the n-zone or late as you exit but hit them with your speed into that last transition.

Start bringing a man across their o-zone laterally from the far boardsduring playactions,it will disrupt their defenses system focus a lot more than you think, spread them thin by bringing wide o-zone entrys and then have the far winger cut right across the zone getting behind their defense that way which will be laterally even ,once he is behind one he is behind them all,use this one off of a slow o-zone entry where only the far winger comes in upspeed and forces his way behind the defensive line they form.Dont worry about bringing the far winger in for the backdoor play because you really want him BEHIND their line and going laterally across the zone drgging his coverage into the mess with him,the idea is to congest them in front of their net using their own system focus and screen their goalies more than they want to have happen.

Klefbom is replicating Coffeys impact from that left side nicely, just tell him to shoot top right corner from the outside next time he is at the circle.Top right corner will allow him to use the bodys in front to his advantage because of the way he shoots the puck and the angle he will be at.

Small adjustment for the K-Bomb,but ask him to do it and watch him score a goal that way tonight.

Well wasnt that game something to watch huh?

It was nice to see some basic adjustments made to shorten the rink and use the standup defense combined with the properly managed backcheck between the bluelines,KISS hockey at its best, that presentation gave the offense LOTS of chances and kept the defensive side of the game TIGHT,that was a TRAP team we just beat, nice to see the KISS base system working out so well.

As far as putting Hendricks on the shootout after Silent Sam had taken the game into the shootout, that was typical of the general coaching disconnect, nobody cares how much Dallas thinks hendricks added to that game, Sam Gagner scored to tie it and he scored to win it BECAUSE HE IS THE LEADER OF THIS ROSTER.

Putting Hendricks on the list was Eakins way of making a statement that he will reward defensive obedience over offense EVERY CHANCE HE GETS,till the powers that be tell him he must surrender his watch.

This One-sided and unfair defensive obsession is the primary cause of the disconnect theat has been a big part of this years overall spiral to the bottom.

Silent Sam took this one to OT,and he sealed the deal in the shootout.

When this team is in the Playoffs next season I WANT SAM GAGNER ON MY SIDE, he is a veteran presence who has proven he can get the job done at the NHL level,he can make majic when the team needs it,he can produce under pressure and he makes things happen right to the last second of the game,he is a MONEY PLAYER.

Throw out that stupid Jacket the players wear,it represents Eakins not the Oilers.

The jacket looks as stupid as the amaturish hat I see on the sports casts as well, just bush-league.

The concept of having a token reward or motivator should be kept in the room and be a team secret, not openly flaunted around and disrespected.

You really think I want my players minds on some stupid hat or jacket when they should be thinking about the Stanley Cup?

Do you think that I will not call the jacket stupid because of its origins? Think again bucko!! I show no disrespect for the fine and brave men and women who defend and represent my Country,in fact I find it disrespectfull to be flaunting such a meaningfull item in the Entertainment Indusrty, that Jacket being on a Soldier back and then being on a Millionaire Hockey Players back do not jive for me,there is no message I get there.

Just another sign of the mis-reads this season will be known for in the history books.

No more smoke and mirrors,no more haed-games,no more manipulations.

Lose the Jacket, rebuild the Locker room like it was last season BEFORE we move into the new building, and idiot would have known we would be re-working the locker room in the new building anyways dont you think huh?Stop the BS.

It is important to respect the History of the Oilers by restoring the teams identity BEFORE we move into the new Building.
This is HOCKEY CURSE territory and this organisation has NEVER TREAD HERE BEFORE,EVER. This level of overt disrespect for what this Oilers Franchise has accomplished is unprecedented in this City and must be corrected.ASAP.

Like I said, any idiot should have forseen that the team was changing addresses in the very near future and recognised the potential dangers of upsetting the Hockey Gods by DEFILING a SACRED DRESSING ROOM WITH A DYNASTY HISTORY to make some bush-league statement.

K-Lowe --- SHAME --- You are a Founding Father

Mac-T --- SHAME -- You have forgotten how important The Code is when you are living in the Moment havent you?

Bucky --- SHAME --- I know you know Soldier.

Steve --- SHAME --- Having been truly tested in the hottest fires as a pro and a man and returning to show your strength and comittment....you also know...I am surprised.

Dallas --- DOUBLE SHAME for even being so vain as to consider that you knew what was better for this Teams future than ALL MEN WEARING THE OILDROP WHO CAME BEFORE YOU. You have shaken the Franchise from the inside for vanitys sake. You are a Green Rookie,a Babe in the woods......leave it how you changed it and you dont even get to call this a learning experience.

None of you come away from this desecration looking like true Oilers, you can hold up your rings and howl at the Moon for all I care, but TRUE OILERS would have fallen to the last man before they would have allowed their SACRED ROOM TO BE DEFILED AND RIPPED APART.

You all had opportunitys to speak up on behalf of the history you claim to represent, but NO ONE TOOK A STAND FOR THE FUTURE --- instead everyone sacrificed the Franchises PAST and dropped to one knee and took a bow for the present which is being directed by a Non-Oiler,no disrespect to the present Coach but bones havent been made yet and dues havent been paid yet. How sad to see the bloodlines of the Oilers become so WEAK and FEARFULL.

The last three games have been a true pleasure to watch because I see LIFE in the men, I see belief and I see what I expected at the beginning of the season.I have seen offense being projected properly and this last game with the proper adjustments I see the air-tight defense that FOLLOWS powerfully projected offense producing results.i see an offense FIRST flow that rocked two of the top teams in the NHL and then shut down TRAP TEAM WITHOUT LOSING OFFENSIVE FOCUS .We didnt trap them back,we ran them very hard for 60 minutes.

Now we are seeing how important Yakupovs goal scoring ability is to this team, how fine a line everyone in the NHL walks when it comes to scoring goals in the best league in the World. His value is equal to any other core player,he IS A CORE PLAYER. We NEED him on the ice playing SUBSTANTIAL 2ND LINE MINUTES OVER THE ENTIRE SEASON.With NO COACHES HEAD-GAMES.

Ryan Jones also showed his colors this season now didnt he? Best +/- on the team playing over 50 games. Another Coaches head-Game there huh? We already knew how important Jonesy is to the room and the Roster.

Silent Sam re-emerging as the LEADER of this team has been wonderfull to watch, seeing the young core catalysing around him makes me wonder how retarded managment must be to have even considered screwing with this Groups internal dynamics, the entire season has been one big managerial screw-up,if I were Taylor Hall or Nuge or Ebbs or Yakupov ,the only man I would respect enough on the roster to bow down to would be Sam Gagner and that would be my place until I proved I could better his impacts.

Thank God the core is still intact, and lets eject this Coaching and managment group before anything worse has a chance to happen.

The ATTEMPTED BUT UNSUCCESSFULL de-construction of the Locker rooms dynamics was possibly one of the biggest errors in Oilers History.

Not only did it NOT WORK AS PLANNED BY DALLAS AND MANAGMENT but it put a very good man in Andrew Ference in a very hard position that runs counter to his personality, add in hendricks who was also put in a similar position and toss in all of the Oilers from last season and you might as well call it a JOB WELL DONE---- as EVERYONE had the core of their team concept shaken and rattled, existing and new Oilers alike were taken out of their personal comfort zones and put inside of a locker roo pressure cooker.

As things stand now,Sam Gagner is the Leader of this team, he earned this position the Traditional way that ALL players respect.Silent Sam HAS THE RESPECT of his peers in the room who make up the core and future of this Franchise,he is a critical component of the future here.

This season was a freaking joke,Veterans like Sam were asked to prove things they have been proving for years, and men who were brought in fresh were not expected to earn their Oilers bones and colors BEFORE they were given drivers seats.

The Head-Coach and Managment as much as said that THERE WERE NO MEN EXISTING IN THE LOCKER ROOM WHO WERE CAPABLE OF LEADING THIS NHL TEAM.That was an insult to everyone and those are fighting words, then once you all lit the fire you tried getting rid of anyone who dared express a perspective different than the status quo.You tried to hang out to dry any men with FIGHT in them, you tried to BREAK YOUR OWN FAMILY,you identified and tried ti ELIMINATE ANY FIGHT IN THE ROOM,just so you could strip everyone down and re-install YOUR OWN locker room leaders,an ARTIFICIAL LEADERSHIP GROUP that hasnt earned its stripes and has no right representing the Franchise OR ITS HISTORY.

Dallas is responsible for Dragging Andrew and Hendricks into deep waters in the locker-room,and NONE of the players should feel obligated to put their loyalty and blood and sweat behind the COACHES judgements,I DO NOT EXPECT the Oilers men to do anything more than earn a paycheque when they are treated with such disrespect, not an iota more than earn their money.

You can tell me what to do when you are cutting my cheques but you CANNOT TELL ME WHO TO BELIEVE IN AND WHO TO TRUST AND BOND WITH.

Lose the Jacket.

Put the Locker-room back EXACTLY as you found it,we are all visitors here, remember that, and behave accordingly.

Let the Locker-room evolve as it needs to internally and on its own,in other words VACATE THE LETTERS RIGHT NOW BEFORE THE SEASON ENDS SO EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THAT THE ROOM HAS THE RIGHT TO BUILD ITS OWN IDENTITY WITHOUT DALLASES OR LOWES OR MAC-TS DIRTY LITTLE FINGERS BEING STUCK INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE PIE.Dont let things drag out, step up and have some cojones,VACATE THE LETTERS and let the ROOM decide who will lead it,let THE CORE GROUP MAKE THESE DECISIONS.They are the heavy lifters and deserve this respect. This Franchise wasnt led to greatness by failing to reward the true Leaders,Fogolin only hung on until the kids were ready,Sam Gagner is ready right now and already has the men following him because he has lead by example,he hasnt been supported by managment to take the Leadership role HE HAS EARNED IT THROUGH HIS HARD WORK AND COMMITTMENT TO THE GAME AND TO HIS TEAMMATES.Silent Sam represents the Oilers Franchise. He always has.The Core respect him and will follow him into the fire -- that is what leadership is all about.

Give every man in the room a penny for ever year he has been an Oiler, then let the men throw their money down on the man they all wish to be their leader.Newbies will NOT GET ANY MORE VOTING POWER THAN THEY HAVE EARNED.

Let things evolve normally and naturally, things have been dysfunctional for to long and there has been a lack of real honesty in the room caused by intentional managerial interference and intradiction.

Bringing in Hendricks to preach about honesty and looking at the man next to you ,is another pile of BS.He represents managments perspective and becomes their henchman when he doesnt even know he is doing it or the impacts it will have on the room as a whole. What hendricks says IS NOT BS,he is a standup professional, but he is being used as an extended stinky finger by managment because THEY THEMSELVES are the catalyst of the lack of honesty in the room via their interference in trying to pick the Leader THEY want and ignoring the men in the rooms opinions.

You managers treated an entire roster like little kids, you stuck your old wrinkled noses where they never belonged and you screwed up an entire season for the CORE and for the FANS,so please step away now ,not just back ,but AWAY.

Vacate the Letters with intentions,do it now before the season ends, give everyone HONEST AND TRUE REASON to better themselves as men and as players.

You get A PENNY for every year you have been an Oilers when the Leadership vote is taken, every man and his years WILL be counted fully, let the men put their money where their mouths are for real.

This is the only way to correct the mess Dallas and Mac-T and K-Lowe have made.

When you are choosing a captain it is your YEARS OF FRANCHISE LOYALTY AND COMMITTMENT THAT DEFINE THE VOLUME OF YOUR VOICE, it is NOT a single vote per man dynamic.

YES,everyone gets to vote, but their voice only represents the blood sweat and toil they have invested in the locker-room they will be voting to have represented.

Sorry gentelmen to urinate in your soup yet again and disrupt another one of your con-games,but it is what it is man.

There is only one rightfull way to run a Locker-room and it is the Moma2s NewAge Hockey System way,via fair and true and properly valuated and executed dynamic and natural actions. There is only ONE RIGHT WAY OF DOING THINGS,ONE OPTIMAL WAY.One HONEST WAY.

I dont care what K-Lowe and Mac-T and Dalas think about who should be the Captain of the team, not one iota, they are MEANINGLESS AND POWERLESS in terms of impact beyond the bench and their offices,it is that simple, that is REALITY.Therefore their stinky fingers need to stay where they belong and OUTof the Locker-Room dynamics.

This is how stupid managment is,they actually utilise a strong-arming tactic that is optimally effective at controlling mid-pack NHLers to control their CORE GROuP where future leadership is born ,not accepting that this Core group WILL NOT LOSE MONEY IF THEY MOVE TEAMS,they WILL NOT BE NEGATIVELY AFFECTED,they cannot be harmed or threatened,it is the Ryan Joneses and the Hendrickses and the Rookies ,the bread and Butter men who are hurt and screwed with when you do this to a group of men.

Stop rocking the boat, let the Locker-Room evolve on its own, pave the road by vacating the Letters RIGHT NOW,make a League-wide Statement that NO ONE is happy with the results of this season, and if managment cannot get its act together then the room wants to do it the right way themselves.

managment has been screwed because they do not know who they will be able to keep long-term so they are trying to avoid the Core group with the "C" and that is stupid to do.

Managment needs to make a committment to the men that says they have a voice in their own destinys,it is that simple.

Let the Money Vote based upon years of service dictate the Leadership Group, settle the Room down, let the men place this value on the Leaders they want.Keep your stinky fingers in your own pockets gentelmen, where they belong.

The Future is NOW,so lets see where the cookie crumbles shall we with a fair and honest Vote,i predict this.

Captain --- Sam Gagner
asst. Taylor Hall
asst. Ryan Nugent Hopkins

This group will make the Playoffs every year and begin to learn to go deep, likely win one Cup in 3 years.

Three years from now I predict,
Captain --Ryan Nugent Hopkins/Hall
Asst.Taylor Hall
Asst. Jordan Eberle

This group will be a perennial Playoff team, and will likely be a Cup Winner three out of the 5 years they are together.

Eight years from now I predict,
Captain --- Ryan Nugent Hopkins/Taylor Hall
Asst. --- Jordan Eberle
Asst. --- Nail yakupov

This group will be dominating the NHL and will be the Legacy of all of the number one picks we have recieved in the last five years. The number of potential Cups this group will win will be defined by how the defensemen develop that we are now breaking in,there is high potential for a same aged mature high-end roster to be dominating in their early 30s.I think they have 3 in them at least. That makes four out of the next eight stanley Cups Oilers Cups, and the potential for three more is very real, with the possibility of even more than that. That would be 7 Stanley Cups in the next 11 years.

Is this to much to be asking? 7 Cups in 11 years? Would that be considered NHL dominance? Would this be DYNASTY TERRITORY?

You better believe it man, this group has NOTHING BUT UPSIDE,and this season was a Mulligan that there was wiggle room to take, but the Gig is up now fellas,it is time to make Oilers Hockey the Platinum Standard in the NHL again.

The job has gotten much more difficult now that teams like the Flames are utilising high level Intuitive Dynamic Managment tactics and most Western Conference teams are also using the NHS Intuitive Dynamic Managment tactics, but ultimately they are all playing the OILERS game when they use these tactics, they ALL open themselves up to be dominated when they try to fight a highly skilled team in deep offensive waters.Deep offensive waters are EXACTLY where we want ALL opponents in every game.

My final verdict on this season is this, the team needs more offensive inputs,it is that simple, how and where they come from are issues for Managment to take up with each other, but the hole is large.

This offense needs to be generated by all4 lines, every man must be fitted with linemates who compliment his individual skillsets, and these sets of lines must then valuate their performances as a group and within that envelope find consistant ways to execute the Coaches System. There may need to be micro-adjustments made to how each of the 4 lines manages to execute its system responsibilitys, that is of no matter,as long as they all get the job done within System parameters and focus.

the 1st line might defend a specific opposition rush differently than the 3rd line,in how they stop the playaction, but they will still meet and stop it how and where the system dictates. If one line has a large winger who can be physical they may focus on using him,if another has a speedster they may focus on him as their spear-tip weapon, but no matter what they use as their prmary driver their results will fulfill System Requirements. The Players need this lattitude,it was lacking this season,Dallas tried to text-book things and make the game a mathamaticl excercise,These small adjustments need to be made by the players in the moment not by the coaches on the clipboard.

Every line will NEVER EXECUTE EXACTLY THE SAME as this isnt possible in a flexible system which highlights individual players strengths as opposed to playing them down. But EVERY line WILL stop the opposition using Sytem tactics as their focus,so the coaches can do their jobs correctly, the closer to the exact system execution players can provide the better coaches can do their jobs, however when the men find they cannot execute properly for whatever reason the coaches need to be ready with a new and effective tactic, not simply send the men out to get smashed over and over.A coach cannot expect a player to maintain system integrity if the same weapon is being used repeatedly to batter them down,if you have a winger like Hall ripping past you on every possesion you CANNOT simply find a way to beat him through consistant system execution because hall is FEEDING on that, you need an immedite adjustment and it needs to come from the coaches, first your gut reaction then your communication to the bench and then THEY are suppossed to give you an alternative on the very next shift.

You need to double team Hall just to have a chance to win the game, this is the Oilers biggest strength right now, they have Hall,Gagner,Nuge,Yakupov,Schultz,Eberle, the types of players you HAVE TO GIVE ROOM TO ... OR DOUBLE-TEAM once they learn to work as a 5 man unit, which the Oilers are now doing.

It is obvious that the Oilers are now beginning to DOMINATE teams in the possesion/transition/shot departments, even when they lose they arent one-sided losses like we have seen over the years, they are more like technical knockouts.

One more offense is added tcticlly and they force opponents to open up more these TKOs will stop happening,we are learning to CHASE TEAMS DOWN LIKE WOLVES. To start biting early,to run them hard on the scoreboard the whole way,to tire them out,and to make terminal strikes all game long but especially late in the race when they are beginning to tire and we have a blonde one more energy and witts about us.

I can see by last game the Coaches have now learned how to stop the "end-to-end" part of the run-and-gun style, and it works nicely against the trap as well where the same run-and-gun tactics are simpley exploded out of the n-zone,first you seal up your own end using the stand-up defense, then you seal in their end using the 3 man high pressure extended forecheck/backcheck,relying on catching them at your blueline after the stand-up play pauses the playaction speeds and momentum. You will be running and gunning them but they will not be able to return the favor. It is only run and gun hockey if you use a traditional forecheck and n-zone/d-zone set of tactics, once you adjust these areas the opposition doesnt get their "turn" so to speak and the game becomes one-sided in our favor.

It took time to sort out how the core would develop and where their strengths would be,but that is easy to do now,and as I expected all along, this core is suited to a hard working high energy high offense blueline-to-blueline high pressure style. The speed, skill and smarts of this roster can dominate any team in the NHL when the game is played between the bluelines using 5-10 foot passes speed changes ,solid transitions, and high speed instincts that few players have. The less time this roster spends in its d-zone physiclly the better, the more the forwards have the puck on their sticks in bith offensive charging and defensive backchecking situations the better. This roster wants the puck on the forwards sticks at all times,it want to work the forwards to the bone because that forces the oppositions forwards to work themselves to the bone,so we DRAG THEM INTO OUR OWN DEEP WATERS WHERE WE ARE STRONGER AND CAN DROWN THEM.We do not want to break the game down into defense against defense seeing whose has more moxy and energy,we want to run their forwards down like hungry wolves chasing a crippled deer, and rip their energy from them as early as we can manage,as 5 man units we want to FORCE their forwards to fight where and when we want.

Smashing the forwards on the blueline wears them down, smashing them with a 3 man forecheck between bluelines wears them down, the forwards begin to hate playing the game because they are taking all of the abuse, consistantly.when their possesions are consistantly turned over at our blueline and recovered by our forwards and then immediatly turned around on them they panic, and they begin to run in circles.

It is the stand-up defense that negates a size difference against you, bigger teams can be worn down using this tactic, you spread the work out in a balanced way between your defense and offense in pounding their forwards to bits. You do not let them make it a forwards against forwards physical game, you make them play your game.Every time a d-man hammers a forward on a zone entry and stands him up IT HURTS and it wears the opponent down both in body and in spirit,if you never take the bait and always smash them it breaks their spirit.

When your own d-men commit to the stand-up defense they are expending their energy differently and will not need to skate quite as much, more of their energy will go into PUNISHING than chasing,no forwards will get easy zone entrys or east forechecks or cheezy hits on our d-men to wear them down on the backboards. Our FORWARDS using the extended backcheck will skate the puck out of our zone many more times than our d-men will have to do it when this system is executed properly.we will let our d-men be physical and our forwards skate with the pucks,we will let them use their STRENGTHS at the right times by making our System ask for this.

I know that the last 3 games have been played differently than the rest of the season because the Oilers have actually dominated in the right areas of the games and in the right ways, the games were lost but were lost in a pure way where the men used their offensive and physical skillsets optimally, just 2 more goals and it would be a 3 game win streak .we had many chances to score those two goals,so these were competative one-goal games proving our system is equal to the opponents in all cases.I say our system is BETTER than all 3 of them.

This system focus is not the full NHS but it is a condensed version played between the bluelines, there are some very winning teams using this same focus right now.I havent been pushing this presentation to the Oilers in fact I have been showing them how to defend it against bigger teams who like to use it.But it seems to fit them now and is one more step towards the pure NHS.

I watched a few playactions last game where the men used the crossing and weaving zone tactics I havent seen for 20 years in Edmonton,
and I can tell you exactly why they were using them, because they were playing a system focus that supported the blueline - blueline game, their forwards had the puck on their sticks wayyy more and in the right spots at the right times, they were confident and playing 200 foot games but everyone was skating less due to better puck managment. The men were using tactics that highlighted their skillsets as a roster, not as individuals, the MAJORITY of this roster can wheel and deal,so there is NO HARM in asking them all to do it,in a way it is like going to play on an All-Star team where EVERYONE can make those highlight-reel passes and plays and shots,it is FUN TO PLAY WITH PLAYERS WHO ARE THAT GOOD,they make everyone around them better.

All you had to learn was how to shorten the rink huh Dallas? Well you are welcome.

Now go wayyyyyyy back in these posts months and months and months and read the TACTICAL TEMPLATE that was described for your roster, how it would evolve and where its strengths would end up existing,go back to where I EXPLICITLY told you how and why the STAND-UP defense was going to be NEEDED BY EVERYONE IN THE NHL,because of the Moma2s newAge Hockey Systems influences leaguewide and the offensive impacts created by the NHSs Intuitive Dynamic Managment program whic allows average skilled men to produce astounding elite results.I could walk you back FOUR YEARS DALLAS and show you this EXACT SAME TEMPLATE,this is not fluke, and your organisation has not been able to anticipate, valuate or even properly specultate as to how and where its future path would lay.

I understand all of the NHL systems immediatly and instinctively, and have created MY OWN optimal Moma2s NewAge Hockey System.

I guess at the end of the day,if I can simply walk in and solve your problems like I do them I must simply be a better coach than any of the Oilers last 4 men who have done the job.

The results that define my dominance may not be well know and it is nothing personal, but, like if i ran a faster 100 yard sprint than you did,you couldnt really deny the results now could you??

Who cares how or why I can produce what YOU need, the facts are that I can do it consistantly,I can take any mess of a system you want to use and can optimise it for you on-the-fly,this is fact.I can make read and reacts faster incorporating ALL system focuses and more accurately in real-time during games than your entire Coaching crew and that is a fact.Who cares how or why i can do this, the fact that it happens is self-validating,you want black and white data and answers so you can write your own book and subvert any external influence, but dum-dums you need to stop it and make the NHS an INTERNAL influence, because you cannot replicate it.You have tried MULTIPLE times in MULTIPLE ways to do this and have failed every time. You have incorporated bits and pieces of a complete and organised and pattern based system and philosophy and you have never put the right amount of effort and due dilligance into incorporating enough of the right data long enough to document the results the data can optimally produce.Just bits and pieces, whatever tickled your fancy at any given moment, whatever provided you with a Band-aid to stop the flow of blood when things were at their worst huh?

Dallas, you CANNOT read the NHS data and treat it like some cheap newspaper article, this is Moma2s NewAge Hockey System, not some Blog.

Dallas, you cannot just take the pieces that look the best to you and then try to overlay them to your own systems and expect optimal results to materialise.

The NHS is the Winning Formula. You must follow it in sequential and specific order and learn the rules and checks and balances and learn how to weild it,you must understand it from top to bottom, the things that drive it,the core principals and how they define things. You must re-define your entire perspective of the game, apply the NHS and then re-valuate your perspective again.

Once you can learn the core basics then you will LEAD YOURSELF straight to the PURE Moma2s NewAge Hockey System presentation, the full-blown version like never witnessed on ice before.

Once you see how the core values apply to the existing systems you have learned on and about you will see the comonalitys in direction and you will understand how and why the same core values applied to ANY existing system will OPTIMISE it.

Once you yourself have OPTIMISED several different Systems using the NHS and its Intuitive Dynamic Managment program you will be indoctrinated and will see no other optimal option, things will become very easy to focus on because peripheral less impactfull traditional things will simply not apply or be inferior to NHS core values.

Once Ralph Krueger understood these core value concepts he ran like a Thief in the Night to Professional Soccer as I have been saying for 4 years was an excellent idea, the NHS concepts are ALL cross-overs that apply to any sport.I am impressed by Ralphs drive, but not by his lack of aknowledgement of the NHS and how he found and utilised its core value concepts. That is pretty class-less,and out of charachter for Ralph.A simple thank you and maybe some openness to being Grandfathered would be nice to see, after all Ralphs newAge concepts are NHS conceots,so why not be honest about it huh?You may thank me here Ralph.

If this team doesnt turn it around 360 degrees next season, there will be no 7/11 stanley Cup History. There is ZERO chance of turning this around without some massive change, this level of change can be actioned with a SUBTRACTION and then an equal ADDITION, OR with just an ADDITION. You can delete the managment from Head coach for more offense to G.M for more organisational dilligence[Captain mess, room discontent,Locker room desecration,Systems mess] to POHO for more accountability overall, and you can replace those Traditional inputs with more traditional inouts of a different flavor. OR> you can keep the assets you have and simply ADD a stable and consistant overall managment strategy which produces superior results for everyone. The NHS and its Intuitive Dynamic Managment program can accomplish all of the tasks this organisation needs actioned.

You need a Trouble-Shooter who is a problem solver supreme,it is that simple, one who can lock horns with your smartest assets and take them into deep waters every time coming up together with new and stronger ideas and solutions.

You need a Consultant that can use your internal assets as tools to systematiclly self-valuste each other. You require an elite Intuitive Communicator to butter your bread for you, simply put.

You need someone who can walk into a room full of your brightest most experienced assets and 40 minutes later walk out after teaching EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM SOMETHING THAT NONE OF THEM KNEW BEFORE THE MEETING---SOMETHING ...THEY ALL...SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.Everyone needs to meet a common challenge that they can all agree has the potential to show them things about themselves and their world and lives that they THOUGHT THEY ALREADY KNEW,this is called building up trust, and it is the first step.

If I can teach you all something new in 40 minutes which you all very well know you should have already known then we are ALL ON COMMON GROUND TOGETHER----LEARNING a NEW and OPTIMAL way to view things. It is all about group validation, first you need the group to set parameters and definitions of what will be a valid reference baseline. It is easier with many than with a few, then you challenge their views and perspectives of reality within those parameters they have AGREED upon, this limits debate and gives groundrules to follow.

if everyone in the room agrees to the rules of proof or validation and you can within those parameters change the group consensus or status quo then you my friend are considered to be an ELITE communicator.Or a Teacher.Or a Moderator.Or a Negotiator.Call it what you want, who cares,as long as the answers you all need come flowibg out into the open where they can be recognised and utilised.

Once this dynamic has been actioned then the men involved will come to the cure like Moths to a night-light.

Nobody wants to hear any more questions at this point ,everyone wants to hears answers, however the majority of MSM reporters and online Bloggers do NOT HAVE answers, they simply have more and more questions. The majority of Hockey Professionals and Commentators have no answers, they only have more and more questions as well.

It doesnt look like there is a very long line-up at the Answer-Desk now does there?

Providing ANSWERS requires knowledge , acumen, and guts, you must know your stuff AND be brave enough to challenge the Status Quo with cold hard results, and be strong enough to battle when they try to use statistics to SPIN-DOCTOR things to defend their under-performing.

And the last time I checked Questions were free and Answers cost money,so lets see that Paper Tiger . Why waste time, just git er done.

If I am in a Business and I see a tool I need that will make my job more productive,I will try to aquire that tool,if this means selling my boss or the accounting dept. on the tool,i do this,in fact I do whatever it takes even if it means simply buying one with my own money to make my job easier.

Everyone knows that specialty tools cost more than axes and buckets,so if you are used to chopping wood and carrying water but wish to spruce yourself up a bit then I suggest you consider a larger investment into your tool-box.

After the Blues follow the NHS to this year Cup in real-time during each of their matchups ,then there might be a supply and demand problem, especially considering that the Kings and Hawks will be competing using what they think is the best way of implementing the NHS,alas they didnt do enough homework and are very vulnerable to tacticall deconstruction. After this seasons playoffs teams who have basiclly scalped the NHS data will realise that the Blues were walked over and through them all, this will be the external validations they all have been needing to make, some teams think they are marty pants, and that validation of source and respect and thank yous do not apply to them.Well they will all be feeling very BLUE at the end of this year. That means you Scotty B. you know where your data came from and it will be my pleasure to see the Hawks deconstructed in four games this season, sooner or later everyone will need to meet the Blues and that will be the end for them. You see scotty the Blues are listening closer than L.Aor you did, they are in tune from the get-go.I wasntdeconstructing your team last season pal,I let you run with it,not this season, you had your chance to recruit moma2 and scoffed at it,now its time to take some BadMedicine.

Next season i will be choosing a bottom feeder with few draft picks or prospects or stars to WALK TO THE CUP,because this is what it takes to teach hard-headed vain buggers some respect, you need to take what they want and keep it far far away from them long enough for them to suffer some PAIN,simple concept.

I want believers who want to go to the top of the heap, and who are smart enough to understand how to get there when it is shown to them.

I want teams willing to do all of the hard work and give me a big fat payday for making 2 or 3 tactical read and reacts per game over 82 games and the playoffs,I want a team honest enough to properly valuate and pay for that service.

Judging by the dynamic template of this season there should be some level of acceptance of the New Coach and some level of defensiveness towards him should be taking root.

The guy has stood in the fire along with everyone and has evolved as the season has gone along, to some degrees.

I must say that i felt a bit of loyalty watching the pre-game presser, and that only comes from dues paid,if you can call this train-wreck of a season dues paid that is.

The swarm defense was never given a chance to succeed because it doesnt have the capacity to create NHL level wins on its own,the concept of the Swarm defense ,the name Swarm is such crap as the defensive focus was more NHS than Swarm by the way,but the concept is sound in itself,it was the application that created the disconnect, the swarm/NHS is designed to use those tactics in all 3 zones simultaneously,NOT just in the defensive zone. Dallas took a Moma2s Newage Hockey System concept in which he recognised value from a full rink application and tried to tailor it down to just a defensive application,he did this because he recognised the IMPACT these tactics produced when applied and he wanted to improve defensive efficiency this way,he did not understand the NewAge Hockey System well enough to see that the application in all 3 zones was interdependant to the overall impact, and this meant that you need to use the tactic in all 3 zones for it to work properly.

Using Moma2s NewAge Hockey System and representing it in the form of the defensive format that was incorrectly called the Swarm, when it is an NHS focus,,was a good idea and it showed real moxy and guts. There was a tremendous chance taken there and that forward looking perspective needs to be respected. NOT COMING TO THE SOURCE to get the full and complete ovierview of how any NHS applications would ultimatley effect the overall system influences was a HUGE ERROR,simply because I could have show you how to adjust your system to incorporate the NHS modifications and shown you how to blend the z-zone and o-zone impacts you were looking for into the d-zone exits the NHS influence was consistantly producing for you.

There is no Swarn, that name and reference so annoys me because NHS tactics and philosophys were used and instead of crediting the NHS ,credit was deferred elsewhere.

My full, complete and correct adjustments to the d-zone coverage and exits which would have stabilised what Dallas was trying to early on in the season, were all posted at the correct times to have bailed him out. They are still there and available to ovierview. The dates are there so we can see how early the correct data was available then and how it is 100% appliccable right now.

That matters not at this point in time, adjustments are easy to make with any system so no big deal.

What is more important is that the teams strengths are now finally being valuated and implemented accurattely and optimally. That is the 2nd step in the right direction, the 1st was finally valuating and optimising individuals. The 3rd step is staying the course with this optimal presentation long enough to learn the small adjustments well enough to make a final evaluation for next seasons start. There was a major change made about 25 games ago and it stabilised the team,I dont remember the exact game the changes began but I could check,I think it was after I chewed out some of the fellas and gave a mini-lecture on defining what backchecking impacts were suppossed to be and how extended backchecking was the next step for a few of the young men to be taking I think it was Hall and Nuge but I cannot remember completely. This was for me the culmination of many posts where I was trying to haggle with Dallas to re-define the simple word DEFENSE into a format both he AND the players could AGREE upon, and by the way that was a very successfull endeavour and worth the work, that re-set was critical to where the team is today in terms of properly valuating how it views defensive impacts, early on these impacts were valuated based on impacts created by d-men and in the d-zone .... NOW these impacts are valuated on all 5 men on the ice and the impacts are spread over all 3 zones. This major re-adjustment of team focus could not have been accomplished without the early implementation of a new AGREED UPON DEFINITION of the word defense itself and without the proper definign of what backchecking is suppossed to accomplish and how those impacts could be implemented into what Dallas was trying to do AND into what the Players were trying to do.Essentially at the end of the day we have a Rookie NHL Coach who was branded with a defensive traditional mindset who came into a dynamic where he was forced to LEARN to re-define some of his most basic hockey perspectives, and he did this right along with the Roster who ALSO learned to proper;ly define some of their own hockey perspecives with the end result being an NEW AND AGREED UPON DEFINITION of a traditional concept.Dallas used to think defense was done by defensemen in the defensive zone, now he understands that in specific circumstances a more optimal impact can be generated via forwards seeking offense, when you properly combine the high pressure forecheck with the NHS/swarm n-zone tactic and support that with the Standup defenseive impacts and support that with an extended backcheck coming out of the n-zone which allows your forwards to posses the puck more you optimise a skilled and talented and smart roster. The head Coach has learned a much more balanced approach to the game already and to his credit he didnt wait to long to make changes,ALMOST to long in nearly every case but he came in at the wire and this is critical from a learning perspective because he had to make enough changes to get a solid and accurate valuation of what he had to work with and what he could do himself.
The Players at the time of the extended backchecking lecture were already in tune with the impacts they could create while they were pressuring for offense, they were looking at things from their own perspectives and rightfully so,they didnt understand how they could produce offense when the puck was on the sticks of the d-men so much, and it was a valid question,so they were searching for answers,I gave them those answers at just the right time when I explained the impacts of EXTENDED BACKCHECKING and the correct applications of the tactic to a few of them who were ready to take the next step in their games.By showing the right players at the right times the right steps to take and by teaching the Coach at the right time how to come to an agreed upon definition of a core value concept I gave them a chance to work it out on their own.And they started to do just that, that was a turning point late in the season which I will say was the primary driver behind where the team is today and where they will be next season.

The Coaches AND the Players ALWAYS need to find the middle to meet in,ALL group dynamics need to find this sweet spot to optimise what they can accomplish together.Once both groups found themselves corrected on the same point at the same time and were given a viable option that would work for everyone they began to stabilise things.

So as silly as this is the facts show that it was a basic misunderstanding of the definitions and optimal implementations of DEFENSE that catalysed most of the seasons issues,it was IMHO a GENERATIONAL issue,a conceptual issue, and once that hurdle was leapt over things began to come together much much more smoothly.

This team had to take the definitions and valuations of defense and its impacts and applications out of ONE ZONE and into ALL 3 ZONES,and that is where they are at right now. They are working on a very balanced and hard working and competative and truculant style of hockey which produces constant and consistant offense and constant and consistant defense at the same times and to the same degrees,BALANCE is where this roster finds its optimal strength.

God am I sick of hearing so much defensive babble, but obviously it was some laundry which needed ironing,so good thing that has been done finally.

We will see better and better defense as the offense continues to develop and as the Coach continues to learn the NHL game.I think this group has found common ground together, and I cannot even take credit, they are not doing what I want really, they are not doing what Dallas asked for early either, together the Players and Dallas are finally coming to terms with their cumulative strengths and are putting together an NHS modified Adjusted-Hybrid System which although it has been adopted by bigger teams over the last 4 years it seems to fit the Oilers just as well if not better. For me this System focus is certainly not new,and I pushed it towards other teams in the past,I find it very easy to shut down, however against the Oilers skill level that might be harder than I expected, any less skill and it is easy to shut down, you can never ever be secure System-wise playing very very skilled players because they can always go pond hockey on you rely on their instincts and pull out the wins. The true test will come against a few bigger teams who already use this influence, not the exact set-up we have seen over the last 3 games with the Oilers[ I think the Oilers added an optimal defensive physical focus] but a similar system focus in and out of the n-zone playing a blueline to blueline style of game.

I think this system focus fits the Oilers well,of course it is nowhere near the NHS but it is after all an NHS modified Adjusted-Hybrid so they are moving in the right direction anyways. The upgrade to the full NHS will be very easy coming out of this System focus they have recently been working on.I think the issue will be that as with other teams once they stick with this system focus they will begin to win so much they will not want to make the full switch to the NHS like the Hawks they will be content optimising the NHS modified Adjusted-Hybrid because it will give them more offense and better defense than most of the NHL,

Whatever the case, its nice to see the team playing like they have been, even the Players voices sound confident and strong, something positive has happened finally

Petry hasnt taken anywhere near the heat Yakupov or Coffey took, Petry simply needs to get more physical around the net at the right times, expand his arsenal .On some of those plays where he is in position and misses the stick control play he needs to develop habits to hit the man instead of go for his stick so he creates a higher % result in his favor,it is more reliable to take the mans ability to use his stick away than to try to tkae the stick itself away.,especially back-door where only a slight redirection is needed to score a goal,no big deal,Dallas is right he will never be a NASTY MAN,HOWEVER I believe he needs to be more physical to be in the top pairing, not nasty because playing top lines this will draw a lot of penaltys, but definately more physical on guys around the back-door,with body contact that at least disrupts opponents balance,as I said a few posts back,he needs to learn to use Intuitive Dynamic Managment to re-structure some of his pressure outlet habits and instincts. It is just about self-policing and re-training oneself in a specific area, this man is a top 2 defenseman in my opinion, however he MUST evolve over the summer in this area or one of the kids will show this ability,it is simply a habit issue not a committment or willingness issue,it isnt even a style issue,Petry plays hard,it is just habits, changing one for a new one that produces a similar impact, the kid needs to be TAUGHT to do this by the way fellas.

Some people swat a fly away from them and some smack it dead where it stands,it is really a matter of preference and reducing the chances of the issue re-occuring,a swat enables a comeback and a smack means there is no replay. It is a % issue,if you learn to smack which takes just as much time as a swat then you have less re-offending by the opponent.Smacking a specific body area and NOT the head, ensures on a higher % of the playactions that the opponent WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT HIS STICK WHERE HE WANTS.There are many effective ways to choose a habit that fits the individual, the NHSs Intuitive Dynamic Managment program will give you some options.

It is going to be a real challenge to play in the Oilers top 4 defensive spots very very soon.A lot of skilled and able and willing young quality d-men are pushing for their chance to break into the NHL right now and these are not run of the Mill players, they are high end fellas.

Until a better man steps up Petry has earned his spot, someone has to rip it out of his hands,as far as self=policing and choosing some new habits to add to his NHL arsenal,he needs to do this, and after all shouldnt every player be doing that as much as they can manage?

Could someone please bank a goal in off of Smyttys arse tonight,i have a special Oilers momento that I wil give to the players who does this,it is an original piece of Oilers 1st Stanley Cup memorabelia,I have owned it and treasured it since the teams 1st Cup win,but jeepers creepers I cannot take this pressure any more, someone mail one in off of the mans butt already and end the suspense.I could have banked one in off of him by now for gods sakes, just ring the till for him and lets let the poor fella chack out on this one already ok?Ha ha ha ha.Tell Smytty to stand sideways so he is a better target, and I am not kidding players are scoring this way all over the NHL now,it is acceptale in todays game,no one will decapitate you for being cheeky in 2014 like they would have in 1980,ha ha ha ha.

This is why I so rarely offer compliments.

This 1st period against the Ducks is regressive, after doing the right things for 3 games we have another back-step.

where is the 3 man forecheck and where is the standup defense?

Where are the nice smooth zone transitions, why are we seeing dumpi-ins into the o-zone and not proper playactions.

Open your eyes coaches, they are working the NHS play that LA used to win thir Cup,the shot to the far right low post, and they are looking for the backdoor play coming off of the save rebound the goalie has to give on those angled shots,so they are letting it go anywhere from the right side between coverage,so you need to be aggressive because your SYSTEM will leave to many shooting lanes open because all they need to do is get it on net to the low right post to set up their backdoor playactions.

Take away the blueline or they will eat you alive, take away that backdoor rebound finish ,they are using the goalies body mechanics against him.

Accomplish both by using the stand-up defense and following the rest of the system tactics I posted earlier today, what is wrong with you guys coming out and using this system focus after I pump you up so much.

Tell Hall to work on the middle because the Big Fella has targeted Nuge and he is beating him up,Nuge will not be a shooting asset so get Hall to terrorise their center by keeping it to the middle, single getzlaff out and pick on him,run him hard for trying to neutralise our #1 centerman .

use the standup defense without the hitting as the primary driver, you can still stand them up using your sticks and reach at full extension to try to push pucks behind them and then be off to the races after it,if you only chase sure pucks and use your sticks at full forward extension you will still be able to use the collapse defense the ways you seem to want to try tonight.

Dont worry about pucks deflecting off of your defenses sticks towards the net because when you challenge so high up on the blueline which is where they need to be to stage you WILL NOT SCORE ON YOUR GOALIE,that is a TRADITIONAL worry, let it go when you challenge up this high.

Personally i would have used the physical stand-up taking the man completely out,but you seem to want to use the collapse defense tonight,so at least do it right ok,get some pressure on that blueline AND target that low far post playaction ASAP,they WILL keep using it all game.

Remember to EXTEND FULLY AND POKE AT THE PUCKS WHEN THEY STAGE ON THE BLUELINE,if you arent going to take the man out.And remember to NOT pull the trigger and go for it unless you see a clear chance, just keep poking at those pucks high on the blueline and they will surrender some sweet turnovers, just dont collapse so much as they want you to do and dont overcommit and try to take the man right out every time like they want you to,INSTEAD simply make a small adjustment to how your defenders are using their sticks and their spheres of influence, full extension or you will not be able to get back into position fast enough to support the collapse structure,DO NOT get sucked into overcomitting, use your sticks on these puppies.

Maybe Matt Hendricks or someone would like to have a chat with Robidas,he has been in a slump and hasnt been helping his team so he is trying to mix it up and be dirty, give him his wish, send him an invitation, but DO NOT LET HIM RUN YOUR SHOW.

Tell Hall to get to work at breaking down their Centerman, work him harder.

Someone show Lander and Gagner how to work the give and go,let Perron take it in once and then try a real hockey play once, then repeat.

Nice job on the goal by Hall.I say work their center over and before I can post it again he scores a goal, excellent.

Holy crap this is one of those erie games,I just barely posted that prior post when Hendricks dropped the gloves, you gotta love it man.

There were literally seconds between my post and his actions, Hall scores when I am hammering on him to work their centerman harder,he doest it as I am typing the post,ha ha ha,then hendricks does his thing a few seconds later, beautifull.

This is one tough Oilers team tonight.

If you are going to take a penalty that is how you do it ,things happen, and if you need to stop the breakaway you do whatever it takes,it is a risk and reward game after all.

This is spooky,I post a positive on a questionable decision by Schultzy and and lo and behold we score a shorty after the call, that is spooky, this is one of those nights baby. This is one of the tightest timelines I have ever had,I am posting only seconds before things are materialising in a positive way. This is called the "groove".
