That´s my point of view,too. Who is investing in printing 25 million (!) books for the purpose of giving it away for free, without having any form of agenda? And remember, there isn´t any church with money behind it.

I am confident germans will read it as intensively as they read the bible. The group is being closely watched by constitution protectors (an office which was brought to life in Germany due to not so recent events), because of their ties to radicals.

How about everybody just stop peddling that religious crap. Would that be too much to ask? Any religious crap...be it christian or islamic or any other...I'm sick of it.

I declare that any man, that believes those books are written by god or something, is a retarded simpleton. Any man that uses these books to subdue men or spread hate towards your fellow men...is a controlling retarded simpleton.

I have to point out your slight inconsistencies here, the catholic church practiced all kinds of fun things like stoning, stake burning, witch hunting, and crusading through their wonderful puppet government England. And yes that has been well within your 2000 year claim.

There were stonings, oh and all the fun of tying accused witches to a heavy rock and if they sank "may god have mercy on their soul, but your innocent!" but if they float, guess what.... Thats right! If they float it was death by stoning or a good ole fashioned stake burning!

See that is the problem with religions and yes that includes Islam and Christianity and dear god so many others. Religion all to often encourages people to abandon rational thought for some promised reward in the afterlife or simply to avoid some eternal punishment. Now not all aspects of a religion are inherently ignorant, but lets face the facts. Way too much blood has been shed because some idiot (there is always too many of these in every religion) decided he/she was chosen to do god's work of killing the "bad" people.

Now you might say "well christianity certainly isn't violent nowadays". Well for something moar recent, do you remember the abortion clinic bombings? How about homosexuals getting beat to death in the good ole USA? I'm not homosexual, but I felt very nervous in this next little story. I was walking into my local grocery store a few years back, when I was approached by a guy (definitely not a gentleman). He wanted me to sign his petition, when I asked what it was about, he started telling me that it was to ban homosexual marriage in our state. I said "no thanks", he then said "this petition will keep marriage how god intended it, one man and one woman." I said "no thanks" again, he then asked "do you want to burn in hell?". I said "sir, I do not worship your god". This enraged him and he started screaming profanities at me and calling me a "faggot".

So I guess my point is that just because you want to believe that Christianity is peaceful and Islam is violent, your belief in that does not make it so.

As Maslo and BigNOIDindaHouse have stated, this is not about spreading Islamic knowledge. This is about who is launching this propaganda campaign: Salafists.

Maybe it will help to research "Salafism + Jihad" or "Wahab + Jihad" or "Qutbism"

Salafists are more militant and extremeist minded than the KKK, Westboro Baptist, Black Panthers, or Farrakhan's NOI. They talk of non-believers as lower than pigs and monkeys. They cheer when news of an Islamic attack occurs. They whisper about their desires to engage in jihad and reestablish a medieval Islamic Empire.

Dawah (spreading Islamic knowledge) allows people to make up their own minds about their personal beliefs. However, this particular dawah campaign is spear-headed by one of the most violent, militant, and radical ideologies under the banner of Islam.

This post is typical of the ignorance that is ALWAYS found in a religious debate.

Consider the following:

Christianity was inspired by a guy that preaches TOTAL NONVIOLENCE. A fellow that commands his followers to turn the other cheek and LOVE THINE ENEMY.

Contrast this with Islam.

Read the koran: mohammed commands his followers to MURDER, CONVERT (or, if merciful, subjugate) ALL NON-MUSLIMS until ISLAM IS THE ONLY RELIGION. This is the heart of islam.

CAN YOU NOT SEE THE DIFFERENCE?

If some wackjobs that happen to call or consider themselves Christians go off and do awful things: that doesn't have anything to do with Christianity! It has everything to do with them being wackjobs!

However the koran itself states that when muslims go and murder the enemies of islam there can be no guilt because IT IS AS IF ALLAH HIMSELF DID THE KILLING.

The difference between the death cult of islam and basically every other religion (and most certainly the most well known ones such as Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Shinto, etc.) couldn't be more clear. All of these with the exception of islam teach people to make the world better for themselves and their fellow man.

islam commands you to kill or convert or subjugate your fellow man until everyone submits to allah in islam.

islam has been at war with everyone else since day 1. When there are no more nonmuslims to kill or convert they are war with themselves (the koran facilitates that quite well, too).

I am in no way trying to excuse such behaviour, and I am an atheist myself, but I surely think it pales in comparison to the level of extremism often present among muslims. If you want comparison with christianity, then those witch-burning christians in Africa come to mind.

The writings of Sayyid Qutb and Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab greatly shape and influence the ideology of Salafists and other militant Islamists. Have you read any books by these 2 authors? I own several of their books. They are the in a whole different league than the Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses.

So what do you think the agenda is behind the Korans then that is different to gidions? Will the korans have bombs in them? Or will they, just like gidions bibles, merely be present and available for people wanting to read it? I'm not agreeing with the organisation by the way, from what I know Salafis isn't very nice, but i'm confused at what you think this will do that is so abhorrent, other than spreading a religion you fear and most likely don't know a lot about?

Christians don't have foreign countries invading lands where they are a majority either

Sometimes I get books from the Jehovah's which basically say I will burn in hell if I don't love god, and that i'm a sinner, I suppose these people who subscribe to these beliefs must hate all the unbelievers?
