I do realize that. Still, it changes nothing about the fact that it directly legitimatises racism, against any race. Until all legislation is strictly colorblind and based only on merit, then we have no moral right to criticise any racists.

The solution to racism is colorblind laws and regulation + strictly enforced punishments for any racial discrimination + time. Not affirmative action, which makes the problem worse, and only gives more credibility to the racists.

Is your goal actually fixing racist discrimination, or mindless revenge? From what you wrote it seems to be the latter.

I have one question for all defendants of affirmative action: If its about black people being more poor than white people due to historic reasons, why AA based on race? Why not simply on poverty? Why should a rich black be preffered over poor white?

we cannot examine these issues without proper context - including the history of this country - and some objective, logical analysis of root causes. i can tell many of you wailing "reverse racism" are uneducated and ignorant about why such a concept doesn't make sense.

i recommend:
- the documentary film "the end of suburbia" to see how post civil-war racism led to the roots of poverty today, and why this is key to understanding how race, income (and income disparity), and the criminal justice system has developed into a machine that ensures that these things continue to be oppressive toward minorities. ever wonder why housing projects are still havens for crime, drugs, and violence? it's not because minorities are "lazy" and "like living off of welfare."
- william ryan's "blaming the victim" and "equality." these books are along the vein of "social philosophy," and ryan takes on a sort-of objective, anthropological approach in truly dissecting and understanding these issues. every social psychology course i've taken at university has featured the same chapter of "blaming the victim" as required course material, and for good reason. ryan is vastly under-appreciated, his views are incredibly wise, logical, and ridiculously relevant, some 2-3 decades after initial publication.

seriously, unless you engage in some autodidactic, independent research, drawing from a multitude of sources and information, your views are likely to not only be shallow and biased, but illogical. for such complex issues, relying on illusory perceptions and habituated confirmation bias to carry you through an intellectual debate is just laughable to me. it's easy to reinforce existing beliefs, ever more difficult to question and challenge those beliefs.

no one ever said seeking the truth was easy. some of us want to learn, others want to feed their ego - it's sad to see how many here happen to fall into the latter category.
