I think at this time everyone should read the entire thread before speaking on the matter further.

"It seems to me that TPTB are sending out their meanest, dumbest, most psychotic cops to try and incite violence from the protestors"

Yea sounds just about the same for the OWS movement

dumb vs dumb =

TPTB count on this type of generalized thinking of the masses. They also counted on casualities including women, children and vets. They also counted on pregnant women and the elderly to be too terrified to stand up to them. What they didn't count on was Jennifer and Dorli being there.
Dorli gives an interview where she states the police manuvered them to that point and then pepper sprayed them.

She also mentioned at 3:09 minutes that the press won't be allowed at these protests. If TPTB aren't doing anything wrong, why do they have to worry about the press being there? I'll tell you why. Because it was press coverage of the police brutality during the 60's that put those protests in the news.
Personally, I'm still on the fence as to whether Jennifer should have been there or not. But the fact remains, if these people were told to stay on the sidewalk and they stayed on the sidewalk, then the entire incident was instigated by the police. But to what end?
To make you so mad you go to a protest to hurt the cops thus shutting all this, and our right to assemble, completely down.

This is a commonly seen claim made by people at OWS but if you took the time to read the OP you would see how false that statement is, not to mention the hours of news footage that is made each day on the OWS movement.

One common theme I'm seeing in all of these police brutality videos over the past year is how people stand around and take pictures/videos while the atrocity is occurring. In the 1960's, protesters had more guts. They'd fight back, or come to the aid of someone being abused. Some were killed...many more were badly hurt by the police, national guard, etc.. But never did you see a crowd just standing around watching a few poor souls (or a single pregnant lady) being victimized.

While the police were ripping off the skin of protestors with high powered fire hoses during the 60's civil rights protests, they were also on the defensive due to rocks, fire-cocktails and other dangerous items being hurled at them from every direction. I'm sorry for rambling on, but the docile (cowardice?) posture of these "occupy" members in the face of blatant police brutality simply has me amazed and dumbfounded!

If my children were grown, I'd demonstrate the proper way to show government that WE are their bosses. It Seems that local/state/federal authorities are forgetting this basic fact..or, more likely, simply ignoring it, because the brainwashing of Americans to be obedient taxpaying slaves seems to be working very well.

We watch the videos of authoritarian power abuse in disgust and anger. The people in power watch them and say, "Wow..let's see in what other ways we can screw the people!" (i.e. burden the populace with another layer of lies, taxes, fees, rules, regulations, law-enforcement abuse, etc..)

-CWM

In the 60's, the protests were peaceful, except for the police, firehoses and dogs - don't forget the dogs.
When Dr. King was killed, then the rocks, fire bombs and such started.
I really believe that we can beat city hall without setting fire to it.

False video and false assumption. It is common sense (for those who watched the video). The woman is crying she can't see. Where in 100% space does it say she had a miscarriage?

I really dislike these down grading threads.

We are the 99%. We have no political or religious agenda. We Occupy OUR LAND in hopes of stopping corporate greed and corruption! PLEASE SPREAD THE MESSAGE!

I much agree with you. Do we not all have loved ones and sacrifices we have to make? Many people have children at home , jobs and healthcare issues. If protesting , and being honorable has any basis or merit in sacrifice , than I give this woman a medal of honor.
I've watched so much media and so many reasons as to "why " someone should NOT protest ...you have a job , you have kids at home blah blah blah ..what's left? No one wants to see or AT LEAST see dissent as patriotic anymore or worth SACRIFICING for.

I just finished your video. I do hope that was them (media) but my question is where is the rest of the footage? I'm asking because the people on the street in the first clip appear to have more daylight than the people against the store front who got sprayed which looked more like a after nightfall shot.
I would love to see more footage from the media's stand point now that you have pointed this out.

And im going to wager that you did not read 100% of the thread, in case you missed it she was claiming to be 3 months pregnant in September when she was arrested then. She refuses to show any reporter pictures of the ultra sound that would at least prove she was pregnant at some point.

I think it is amazing that people in America are complaining about being pepper-sprayed and shot with rubber bullets while protesting when people in Syria and Egypt just get shot and killed or ran over...and people in those countries are dying during protests for freedom. Freedom to have the right to complain about not having enough money without being pepper sprayed or shot with rubber bullets .....cmon people we can do better....I am going to start to build a pyramid on a ley line, anyone with me? Seems like a much more worthwhile endevour than standing in the street thinking about money....

im really looking forward to the ows professional excusers to tell us all how isolated this was, and doesnt represent the ows movement.

because you know. nobody actually represents the movement remember. except they represent 99% of us. except not really, because everything that happens is isolated and natural and leaderless. and they clearly dont have a political leaning or anything, because its like. for 99% of us. except anytime they do anything. then its none of them. and... like...

aww hell, we all know these idiots make no sense. its getting tough to even make jokes about them anymore. its like making jokes about an autistic child.

if she was actually preggers and lost her baby. yes, of course that is sad. but if she knew she was preg, she should not have been there. period. just like if she would have been at a theme park riding roller coasters and lost the baby. thats on her. not the ride that spins you around for 3 min until your dizzy.

of course we cant expect a single ounce of personal responsibility from the ows crowd though. that would go against the very core of why they are there in the first place.

The whole OWS situation can be summed up with a term that was coined in WWII: FUBAR.

That said, this whole story stinks to me. I'm not sure if this is an attempt to get sympathy for OWS. If so, I'm not sure if the miscarriage was fabricated or real. Regardless, it seems that a homeless girl would be the most vulnerable and easiest person to co-opt into such a story.

On the other hand it could be the old double-cross. This incident could be designed to scare some protesters away, while inciting others to violence. Afterwards when she can't come up with proof it helps to discredit OWS. Double whammy for TPTB.

On the third hand, it may all be on the level. If this is the case then violence will likely result, because no one will be brought to justice.

So what's the real story. At this point who friggin' knows?

All I do know is that my wife is pregnant and when we discussed the protests we both agreed that she cannot go. This is the commonest of sense. Pregnant animals have enough sense not to put themselves in harms way. But we humans convince ourselves that we know best.

Human life is such a complicated mess.

I'm sorry but if she was pregnant then that is just absolutely irresponsible and stupid to the point that she clearly did not value the life of her unborn child! People are very much aware of what is happening at these OWS sites and the high probability of violent conflict and yet she still made the choice to go, did her unborn child have a choice to go? What benefit to her unborn child was it that she went there and put her unborn child in harms way? This is no different than bringing a newborn baby to a riot! Anyone who has sympathy for this woman needs their head seen to!
