Sir, you sound like a victim. That aside, I'll address some of your points. Some of us Join because of our sense of family tradition. My Father, His Father, His Father etc,etc all the way back to 1066ad to the earliest records of my family have served in military capacities. I was changed after Boot Camp. I put away childish things. I gave up childish knee-jerk emotional reactions to things I didn't like. I learned a greater respect for life after seeing how frail it is. I learned a greater focus and coolheadedness in time of dire stress. I learned teamwork. I learned more about myself than I had previously even known.
Yeah we leave training different. Its called doing our job. If some of us seem cold to you it is because we don't understand why you are the way you are.
Your post just sounds like your lashing out' cause you've been hurt. Thats just my opinion though.

Well i do know there are governments, factions, groups, people etc etc whom would love to come to our front doors and cut our heads off! Yep they are out there and you dont need a ultra top secret clearance to find that infomation. Just because they are not slaying us on the streets of america doesnt mean the intent to do it is not being thought up, planned, persued!

Fortunately i live in a country that will take the fight to the people who wish us harm.

Honorably im part of a small group of people who will take the fight to them instead of allowing it to be fought here on our soil.

My patriotism is unquestionable. Im proud to serve amongst these soldiers whom believe as i do. Who will sacrifice everything to preserve our way of life. Our we perfect? No! Is our country perfect? No! There is always room for improvement. There in lies my hope, and part of the reason i fight. I am not privy to the entire picture from which decisions are made to go to war, but my faith stands that the elected officials are doing whats right in the best interest of every american.

So who will join me in the preservation of what our founding fathers had fought hard to attain?

Let us train, and train some more. Let us become masters of battle.

That is what we raised our hand and swore to do.

Matters not what the few non supports say.

There is a line to be walked by them. Though they say alot, and speak ill of us, they do so with caution and at distance. For even they know what we are, what we do, as a team. A well oiled machine we can be like the flick of a switch. That is something to be reconed with. The enemy prepares many months if not years to face off with us. Foolish is one whom would not.

Say what you will worm tongues. Off to the side, under your breath, within our protection. Say what you will cowards.

I have come to the conclusion that you have been totally brain washed by something (twisted informational teachings) or someone (twisted individual/s). You speak for no one but yourself. Well, you have to pay taxes so actually you paid my salary, healthcare, bonuses, and uniform allowances. And now that I'm in school you are paying for my books, tuition, and living allowance. Thanks, I am extremely appreciative!

Please have a look at these 19 countries without a standing army and especially Costa Rica. It has the highest standard of living of all its neighbor states, despite the fact that it has to deal with the constant migration (legal & illegal) from those states.

It is also perched perilously between Nicaragua & Panama, states that would invade if they had the slightest reason, but it remains resolutely demilitarized & un-invaded.

Funny thing about that. I was in Central America earlyier this year. Nicaraugua decided to seize some land in Coasta Rica because Google map screwed up and changed the borders. Now I am not sure what happened since I left but I do know that at the time Coasta Rica was seeking help from the U.S. and some other European Nations because they didn't have a military. I do Know Nicaragua used there military to take the land and the people who lived there were essentialy thrown out.

As far as Panama goes they seem to be a extension of the U.S. they use our money most of them can speak english and unless things have changed we still have bases there.
