agreed. I was never even close to being a Tier-1 operator, but I had the fortune to meet a couple men who would recruit from my units for combat controllers tactical air control. I've never met a more selfless, dedicated group of men.

And I apologize for "name dropping" but I had the fortune of meeting TSgt Tim Wilkinson when he came to recruit some of my troops as PJs. Two months later, I found myself in the Hall of Heroes in the Pentagon. I found myself alone, as the tour moved on. I stood there in front of the plaque with Gary Gordon and Randy Shugart's names on it.

I was alone. I dropped my cover on the ground. And I wept. No one saw that, and in fact, I have no idea why I'm sharing that here...

There is no need to defend your nation, except against those who are destroying it, but the current military are operating for those who would destroy it.

In all honesty, I should heed the previous posters pointing out that you're a lost cause. However, if anyone should read this and be on the fence, they should see the beat down I'm about to apply.

First: my "actions invading others (sic) nations" is the result of hostile actions on the part of those nations or the factions they enable.

Second: I do what is right. Let me define that for you: What is right is me defending my constitution and my family. If anything poses a threat to that, it dies. Don't like it? Tough. Welcome to the real world. I'm "obedient" up to and including any orders that satisfy the first conditions: Does it support the laws of my nation? Does it protect my family?

Probably the best explanation given that I've heard. (Star for you, Sir!) When I returned home from USMC basic, I immediately felt the difference between my friends mentality and my own. My mentality was more mature, more confident. There really is no way to explain it, it is something that is experienced. On a side note, after I was discharged it took me many years to feel completely at ease around my friends again. By then, we were moving into other phases of our lives. Kids, careers, or in some cases, continued doing what they had been doing. I think we, meaning military personnel (Active or inactive) feel that we were doing something important. Upholding the beliefs our country was founded upon, regardless of how far our country's government may have skewed its direction in present day. I can promise you this: When the # hits the fan, you're gonna be damn happy that you know someone that's been in the service, they just might help to keep you alive. Then again, they may remember your (your: meaning some of the military haters) posts and leave you to fend for yourselves. To the OP, I hope you find some peace and comfort in your personal life!

Yes! Another vast generalization thread to paint everyone in a group into a neat little box . Its been maybe two three hours since I've seen one. I was getting worried for a moment that we were starting to understand that people are individuals and such.

OT: Okay, my cousin is in the military and so is his wife. My cousin was already arrogant and though a lot of himself, though when he went into the military he came back with a little more maturity and humility. I blame that on growing up and having a family to take care of, his still the same, fun and irresponsible guy at the core. He has just toned it down. His wife is quite and careful around us I don't know much about her but never got a vibe that she though she was better than anyone.

My grandfather(navy 20 years) and his brothers(My uncles) all in the military. My grandfather, is respectful and kind to everyone. Same with my uncles. Well expect my uncle Ron, he's a huge Jerk and thinks better of himself over everyone. He never served. My grandma didn't server either and shes really nice. Its like I don't people have different personalities or something that doesn't come from their job profession

Agreed. From personal experience I can say the military does not make you a saint, but neither does it make you into an evil mindless robot shooting napalm everywhere.

As a side note. No one I've known who's served honorably ever uses the phrase "I was discharged." I "left" after 13 years of service. I would NEVER say I "was discharged." Ever.

Because it's so obvious, nobody is attacking America.
There is no need to defend your nation, except against those who are destroying it, but the current military are operating for those who would destroy it.
And because they have you so well programmed, you cannot see it.

Your actions in invading others nations is creating an enemy, which is what a corperate military machine desires.

If You are not cowerds, then do what is right and leave those countries now, but You are all too afraid to go against your programmers, they have you cowering in obedience, and you do their biddings.

Your correct, perhaps I was thinking of herd mentality, such as a pack of hyenas that circle about their prey, because thats what is been demonstrated here on this thread.

Those hyenas usually end up with blood all over themselves, as are American forces now, and that blood is of women and children, cowerds indeed?
