Out of the three superpowers, the only country that ways profit and destruction is the US. You think China or Russia wouldn't nuke the US because it would mean the US wouldn't buy from them anymore? Not everyone's morals revolve around money.

North Korea has survived this long because it has enough forces to wreak destruction upon South Korea, which is meant as a deterrant against actual war. North Korea has a lot of artillery aimed at major ROK infrastructure to set them back decades in the first day of volleys. DPRK also has a special ops contingent numbering over 100,000 in manpower alone. Most of their population has military experience, and in crisis mode the military wouldn't have to worry about protecting civilians because they are all military and all have roles to carry out in such a situation.

They are one hardcore militaristic nation. Combat, and the imminent threat of invasion, is ingrained into every single North Korean citizen. They are mentally prepared for war. They are also prepared in terms of infrastructure, especially considering how much they've built underground (probably one of the largest underground construction projects in the world).

Anyone who believes the DPRK is some pushover needs to get a reality check. If they would be so easy to defeat, then why doesn't the US pick on them? The whole of Korea under US influence would be a major strategic and economic asset against Russia and China. The DPRK isn't pushed too hard because they mean business, and that's that.

If NK went in. They would lose the war, but they would annihilate SK before they were taken out.

On topic I think I have said all there is to say: Israel and US are trying to get Iran to do a Preemptive strike by announcing that Israel is going to preemptively strike Iran. Israel is doing that for two reasons 1.) because if they can goad Iran into a strike now, they know the strike won't be nuclear. 2.) Will justify the war that starts to more of the world than if Israel struck Iran first. Iran won't fall for it though.

I will say that NK would be wiped by whatever alliance went after them if they struck SK because NK would open the door for nukes to be used on them (if NK attacked SK they would have no option but to use a barrage of artillery nukes). Before NK was taken out though they would at least have Seoul destroyed.

Well, first they don't have long range missiles. The missile discussed in your link is a medium range missile. Israel has a long range missile that can hit almost anywhere in the world.

As for what would happen if they had nukes and the medium range missile? If the missile shield failed (which I doubt it would because the Shahab is probably slower than the missile defense system) I guess Israel would get effed up?

What makes you think that North Korea would use nukes pre-emptively?

It's been around 70 years since nuclear weapons were first created and the only time they've ever been used in combat was in WWII Japan. If anyone, I repeat ANYONE, attacks anyone else with a nuclear weapon, then it is game on for nuclear weapons to be used by anyone at anytime. Every single person knows this. This is why we've restrained ourselves from using them. I have to say that such restraint is rather miraculous in terms of human nature, but think about it: the nextcountry to use them in a hostile manner will be instantly villified by the world; doesn't matter who. The first to use nuclear weapons again, will probably be the first to die in the war that ensues- especially if you're not a superpower.

I just think that if NK decided to attack SK (whether preemptive or in response to something) they would use small nuclear artillery as cover while they invade on the ground. Whether they have a tunnel finished or whatever.

I don't see how their side of things is wrong or ignorant. It's how Iran sees it, based on their beliefs. And if they have stronger faith in beleiving the Messiah is upon us than Western soldiers who know they're fighting for mere trivial resources and geopolitics, then victory may just be their prerogative.

Remember, Israel is fighting for prophetic beliefs too and they are the ones forcing them upon the world. This assault is not going to be some walk in the park like in Iraq, and people the world over will learn a great deal about humanity itself from the outcome.

Here's what people fail to understand. It's not about them believing in the return of their Messiah, it's about Ahmadinejad thinking he's been called to RUSH it in!! This is where people need to start doing their homework. His own government is already trying to limit his power and push him out. I think this would be good reason for him to think he should step things up a notch!!

Iran will never be the first to strike. They spend too much time playing the victim like Hamas does in the Gaza Strip. They'll just keep "poking" Israel with rockets until Israel has had enough and makes the first BIG move!
