Kinda ironic isn't it? People love using the sayings of Jesus to promote their new cults. Why is that?

Probably because some of these people understand what He was saying better then the so called "authorities" on the subject... Notice i said some...

Why are people so quick to cherry pick sayings from the Bible to try to get other people to follow their new way of thinking?

Simply because "cherry picking" is easy to do... it requires no understanding of what is being said...

You might want to ask one of your local churches that same question...

It's the ol classic case of "Even Jesus said such and such", but the rest of His teachings are always false or have been altered and distorted for some reason

None of his teachings are "false"... its the rest of the bible that is in dispute...

Maybe I should post before I hit reply, lol. I don't go to any local church so there is no one for me to ask. If people want to dispute other portions of the Bible then that is on them. The message of Christ is a guide to how we are suppose to live NOW. The message is so simple, but people want to complicate it.

Christ consciousness is another false teaching. Jesus never taught Tao far from it, infact the tao is another Satanic doctrine.

Sigh. You are a sad case of ignorance, RG. Where do get this this loose labeling of anything and everything not Christian as "satanic?" This is where ignorance really shows it's ugly head.

The Lost Years of Jesus: The Life of Saint Issa

HISTORICAL EVIDENCE OF BUDDHISM IN JUDEA

Survival of the Crucifixion: Traditions of Jesus within Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Paganism

The Bible clearly tells us that Christ Jesus of Nazareth is God Almighty in human flesh (1st Timothy 3:16)

History Lesson:
The expression 'Jesus of Nazareth' is actually a bad translation of the original Greek 'Jesous o Nazoraios'. More accurately, we should speak of 'Jesus the Nazarene' where Nazarene has a meaning quite unrelated to a place name. But just what is that meaning and how did it get applied to a small village? The highly ambiguous Hebrew root of the name is NZR.

The 2nd century gnostic Gospel of Philip offers this explanation:

'The apostles that came before us called him Jesus Nazarene the Christ ..."Nazara" is the "Truth". Therefore 'Nazarene' is "The One of the Truth" ...'
(Gospel of Philip, 47)

Nazareth is not mentioned in ancient Jewish sources earlier than the third century AD. Some historians and Scholars argue that the absence of textual references to Nazareth in the Old Testament and the Talmud, as well as the works of Josephus, suggest that a town called 'Nazareth' did not exist in Jesus' day.
(Source Material: ''The Case For Christ" by Lee Strobel pages 137-138)

One modern attempt to defend the notion that Jesus was God incarnate has been made by Thomas Morris, in The Logic of God Incarnate (Cornwell Univ. Press, 1986), in which he defends the proposition that “Jesus of Nazareth was one and the same person as God the Son, the second person of the Trinity.” Is that your source for what you said about Jesus being God Almighty?

I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me."
(John 8-18 KJV)

"And behold, one came and said unto him: 'Good master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?'
And he [Jesus] said unto him, 'Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God:..."
(Matthew 16-17 KJV)

If Jesus was God, then why did Jesus say "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" How could he have uttered that sentence if he knew that it was His own plan to be sacrificed, and not sacrificing himself would provide Humankind with no possibility of salvation? Can someone explain that to me?

We must always never forget that the text of the Bible is neither genuine nor original. The Bible's books and gospels, according to its own translators and theologians, were:
Written by mysterious men.
Copied by many other men.
Written by an unknown number of men or women.
Written in unknown places.
Written in unknown dates.

EXCELLENT THREAD. I'm glad that someone brought this to the table, there is nothing like a reality check for some. It makes me laugh ever time I hear someone say they are a good witch, my question is always, ok, so what does a good witch do? With all those good powers shouldn't you be out healing the world or something, lol.

Seriously though, Satan does not care what you worship as long as you are not giving glory to Jesus Christ then your all good in his book.

Wiccans
Satanist
New Agers

Those who talk to so-called ascended masters or their spirit guides are ALL under the throne of Satan. Funny thing is, none of them ever realize it until they reach the highest level of their belief, once that happens they will know what they are dealing with. From there some will either get out or stick with it. But one thing is for sure, if you are a High Priest in any of these then you know that your father is "Lucifer" but let's not tell that to the new followers right.

Great thread OP

People say "good witch" to defeat the false concept of a bad witch which has been malicously spread by people such as yourself

Then define what a good witch is please.

There's no good or bad but just people who try to do the right thing. Law of attraction would make short work of anyone who went out of their way to be malicious minded.

Have you seen any perfect christians lately? Mind you I see that you agree with the OP so you'd no doubt think that the witch hunters were perfect.

You asked what defines a good witch and I replied that its the same what defines any good person, we are all the same no matter what Religion you follow.
We can only try to be more good than not eh?

If a wicca leads a good life isnt that enough? if they help people everyday?

You cant define someone being bad by what Religion they follow, Satan would be sure angry if a good witch only tried to do good and God would be happy that a person has done good no matter what.

There is only ONE God according to the Bible

Read it again! There are some 18 different Gods, and two Goddesses in the BIBLE.

I explained this to you, and posted the actual names taken directly from the King James Bible, and you refused to answer me then. Take a look, and learn the truth here, RG. Post by Autowrench

What can we derive from this? In what context are we to interpret this?
Please, any and all, of you....your comments. I'd love to hear your explanations/rationalizations, especially yours, RG.

It's a good thread because it exposes Wiccan for what it really is, and that is, another one of Satan's Lies. I'll be honest and say that I haven't studied Wiccan in full detail, but the mere fact that these people openly label themselves as "witches" draws a red flag.

In your opinion is this verse true or false?

10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.

I don't know if Wiccans can call up the dead, but I do know that they cast spells. If there is no danger in such practices then why is God against it?

I didn't know anything about wicca's before this thread and it seams to me they are more tolerant than you are....pffft

You are right to some degree. I know alot of really good people who do alot of great things for others but don't believe in Christ. Whether or not such people will go to heaven or hell is not for me to say.

6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
7 or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”[e](that is, the word of faith which we preach):
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”[f] 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

All I can do is judge the practice, not the person. If the practice is not in accords with God then imo there is a problem with such practice.

THE BIBLE GOSPELS The most "authoritative" accounts of a historical Jesus come from the four canonical Gospels of the Bible. Note that these Gospels did not come into the Bible as original and authoritative from the authors themselves, but rather from the influence of early church fathers, especially the most influential of them all: Irenaeus of Lyon who lived in the middle of the second century. Many heretical gospels existed by that time, but Irenaeus considered only some of them for mystical reasons. He claimed only four in number; according to Romer, "like the four zones of the world, the four winds, the four divisions of man's estate, and the four forms of the first living creatures-- the lion of Mark, the calf of Luke, the man of Matthew, the eagle of John (see Against the Heresies). The four gospels then became Church cannon for the orthodox faith. Most of the other claimed gospel writings were burned, destroyed, or lost."

Elaine Pagels writes: "Although the gospels of the New Testament-- like those discovered at Nag Hammadi-- are attributed to Jesus' followers, no one knows who actually wrote any of them." [Pagels, 1995]
source

I have a list too...
Aren't there many historians who should have mentioned Jesus, but didn't?

In the time of Jesus, most people were illiterate. Of Jesus' followers, I would say only Paul would have been educated, being as Paul was a Roman. The Romans controlled the Hebrew lands and people in those days, and ruled with an iron hand. This is why I always say Romans wrote the New Testament, simply because the rest of Jesus' men could not read or write. Now Jesus surely knew how to read and write, for he was educated in several different disciplines that would require you know this. Why didn't Jesus keep a journal? Or a Diary?
