That's what you get for thinking you own the water

Even worse, you pay for a natural resource which is absolutely free!
You can really only be mad at yourself for paying somebody else for water just because they tell you they own it.

I look at it this way. If someone feels entitled to take anything that's not their's, even though it's a "few bottles of water", then they will feel entitled to take anything else they feel 'entitled' to.

A few years ago, there was a guy who brought in canned drinks for the co-workers at a charge of 50 cents per can. No one complained. Everyone paid for their drinks except one young new guy. He was confronted by the person who bought them. The next thing you know is that the new guy is sneaking drinks and got caught. This was essentially STEALING. The new guy got fired for his actions. You may say that this is a little harsh for taking a mere soda without paying for it but I say it's stealing. If a person can take a simple little soda without paying for it, just think about what else he can take without paying for it.

If a person can steal water, then they have the mentality to steal anything you worked for and own.

Guess you showed us what you are all about..

Casting judgement on a whole movement because of the actions of two of them is rather immature..and griping about a few bottles of water.. seems to be petty in my opinion.

Yeah, how petty of him to be upset over someone stealing something from him that he pays for. Regardless of how much it costs, it was his and he shouldn't be expected to give it away. EVER.

Shows us what YOU are all about too. Honestly I will side with OP every time, regardless what it is or what the value.

**edit** To say I can't believe how many people are on here to tell us they think it is perfectly fine for those 2 guys to steal your water. Unbelievable. You people will go far in life.

You mean they're not supporting a world wide movement based on ideals because two guys in Canada helped themselves to a back alley faucet? Amazing! Why didn't I think of that?

Btw, where is the proof that they were part of OWS?

lmao... a couple of bucks worth of water...

Out of curiosity..how many pro take water if you need or want it are Christians? was that commandment..
Thou shalt not steal anything over a buck fifty?

Do I really need to get George Carlin in here to explain the ten commandments to you? The book openly contradicts itself in places. Most people try to do what's right, rather than stare at commandments which were created by the man.

Excuse me? I said those who call themselves Christians! What are you saying Christians don't believe in the 10 commandments? Are you saying Christians make their own rules?

I love this argument. It's "just a few Nazis". It's "just a few Communists". It's "just a few thieves". It's "just a few heroin dealers." It's "just a few paid protesters". But, don't you dare judge the entire movement off of "just" a couple of bad apples. You're right, there are just a couple of bad apples. Only problem is, there are bad pears, bad grapes, bad carrots, etc.

It's not about the actions of "two of them". It's those two, and the other 50, and then a score over here and a dozen there. And, it's NOT petty over "a few bottles of water". It's theft, period. You don't just get to TAKE what isn't YOURS! Period. There are too many "isolated incidents" for it to bet truly "isolated".

For the love of all that's good, a few random people stole some guys water.

That's it.

They could have been construction workers.
They could have been bums on the street.
They could have been space aliens.

But in this case:

It was those evil OWS people. No, not Average Americans, but Anti-capitalist, dirty, drug addicted hippies defecating all over the place.

-Protesting corruption is not a nefarious agenda.
-Protesting corruption is not left nor right based.

I would recommend freeing yourselves from the left/right paradigm, then make an informed decision on what makes sense, and what just doesn't.

Seems I'd be rather pissed that the water costs money before I'd be pissed someone and his buddy was drinking it all at my expense...

So, are you mad about the thievery committed by the two thirsty guys, or because you had to buy the water?

Do you think that the water just magically appears at your faucet? The tax paid is for the plumbing bringing it to the building and the water treatment that recycles water for drinking. Very naive of you to think it is free.

I'm saying that Christians are by nature hypocrites, but those that read the bible for what it is, will gain something good from it.

No you don't. I read your original post. I don't really want to read through pages to reach the only conclusion that is possible. That being that you are bias against a movement or ignorant enough to form an opinion of an entire movement based on two people.

The OWS protestors here have so many people contributing that they actually feed the homeless and hand out food to the police that have to stand by. Why didn't you just ask the guys for like a buck or something.. i mean pocket change probably would have covered it.

I just find it hard to believe that you nicely asked them to stop and they told you to eff off.
Also, if they were protestors, it still shouldn't change your opinion of all of them unless you are weak minded. The fact that you would come on here and use your story to raise opinion against them shows your bias.

ALSO, it isn't my fault if you didn't put enough info in your OP and the story was vague and full of holes. You should put all the info you want to get across in the OP.

... which is why I said "his perceived view of events"... he is entitled to his opinion. Unless the two who did it comment here, that is all we have to go by.

It has 0 to do with the OWS movement. What is appalling is how many people think it is just OK to steal water from random people. Regardless of what it was or how much it might cost the OP it is theft and I think ya'll are ridiculous for thinking it is OK just because of the perceived low value by you.

I wouldn't be so quick to make a generalization of an entire movement just because of a bad experience with a couple of its members.

I could do the same thing about almost any club, project, race, creed, religion, just about anything you can come up with.

Every group is going to have its share of idiots.

EDIT: On second thought, I doubt this "water stealing" ever occurred in the first place. Think about it.

I think you got me confused with someone else broham. I didn't start this thread nor did I participate till a couple minutes ago. I am not yelling about anything or trying to equate this to an entire group of people. I am just astonished that so many people are OK with theft. Thats all.

And crying wolf? What are you even talking about?

Ya'll are so happy to give out water, then ya'll ought to just put up a sign in your yards that says free water. I mean it is basically free to you anyway right? Only a $1 so what can it hurt?

In their mind that wasn't your water... it's everyone's water because no one should be allowed to own a natural resourse that people need to survive. In my opinion they stole your private property.
