Just because someone has money to spare tenfold doesn't mean they are these generous "live and let live" type of people. And just because the owner would have the money to cover it, doesn't mean the OP does.

Any insistence the owner would have that the OP should pay him back ..would be ridiculous concerning the circumstances..and would never fly in court.

The owner wouldn't be very smart expecting an employee to pay for the costs of something that was due to outside influences such as this.

If the owner would be that much of a loser.... I think it would not end up being in his best interest to do so.

"and would never fly in court."

I wish I could be so confident in our court system (not trying to be a smart ass by the way
). I would agree with you if I didn't know just a few years ago you could sue a restaurant for not labeling coffee (not iced coffee, you have to order that way to get it) as hot after spilling it on your damn self.

Guess you showed us what you are all about..

Casting judgement on a whole movement because of the actions of two of them is rather immature..and griping about a few bottles of water.. seems to be petty in my opinion.

I don't know what's more sad to me:

The initial reaction of someone to two people in need filling up water being "That's rude, what a couple of dirty hippies, I'm calling the cops!"

His initial reaction wasn't to call the cops. It was to tell them to stop, that it would've been fine if they'd asked first, and that he supported their movement. They're the ones who told him to eff off and dared him to call the cops.

If a couple guys trespass on my property, start robbing me, and tell me to eff off so they can continue stealing my stuff, I'm calling the cops. I don't even need their permission, although I suppose it would be nice of them to give it.

I have a ring number...all they had to do was ask.
I am not about to turn down a thirsty person.

I will however turn down someone taking without asking.
And yes....I am accountable and might have to hear about this.

Do they not have to enter your property to get to the doorbell??
And if they asked and got permission frome someone else in the a.comlex, they still would steel from you cause they did not ask you, wouldnt they? It is altso your water, wich you have to pay for??

And I would like to ask you one more question, do you really understand your own signature? None of us owns anything beyond our illusions....

I caught my neighbors using my outdoor electrical outlet to mow their lawn and trimmer and stuff... Kind of made me laugh knowing their electricity outlet is just 6 feet away from mine..

I let them know where theirs was at and they switched it right away..

But having people tell you to 'ef off while stealing your water deserves them being punished definitely..

It isn't about losing 10 cents worth of water as much as it is someone thinking they are going to just take what they know isn't theirs and thumb their nose at you over it...

I say "no sir" they don't deserve the water squeezed out of an old wet sock much less filling up their water bottles... I would have kicked them both upside their nads a few times, but that's just me...

I caught my neighbor stealing my water - right from the back of my house. He was going to burn the lot next door, so he turned on MY water and had the hose running away so it would be 'handy'.

Then he said "Well I didn't think you'd want your house to burn down if it got out of control!"

And, OMG, he is a republican! OMG they will just take anything! He owns more than half this neighborhood and he acts like EVERYTHING is his!!!

(that's a true story, and that's how yours sounded too, but I don't think ALL republicans take from people more poor than they are, not really.)

This costs money and they aren't the ones paying for it.
Who is the one paying for the water? Are we to assume that it is you? Would be nice of you to clarify.

BTW, water isn't that expensive but getting permission is the polite thing to do.

Isn't the whole OWS all about peole being allowed to take what they need from whoever has it in abundance??

"I said "hey guys you can't be doing that...you are trespassing" "

Trespassing?, nope.. that's a crime of intent btw..

Do like the display of group-think / divide & conquer programing.. the shadowy overlords are must be giddy at just how easy it is to turn people against each-other. It wasn't just a few guys, "jerks", availing themselves to 'your' costly water, "OWS" so called, was guilty.

btw.. how much did it cost you?.. I'm sure there's enough change buried in my couch to cover it, I'll send you a cashiers check.

Better yet, set up a water stand and charge .50 or $1 donation per bottle.. or barter for sexual favors..lol..don't get mad, get money or get laid.. dirty hippy chicks have low standards & are wild in the sack.

I'm going on exactly what was typed. This looks like an artful troll, and nothing more. He very specifically has avoided saying that it was his property or water at all. Not so obvious a troll, but still a troll imo.

He said he called in the police which he clearly could not have done if he did not have the responsibly or ownership of the water!

What a bunch of self-entitled little jerks!!!!
I am NOT part of the 1%...I am just a working class guy like most.

This is what went down.
I am walking up the street and see 2 dirtyish looking guys filling 4 giant water bottles (about 3 quarters the size of a water cooler bottle)
I said "hey guys you can't be doing that...you are trespassing"
He tells me to ef off and was extremely arrogant.

I say "there is alot of support for this movement...if you just would have asked it would have been fine"
The fact they might have been doing this under my nose for the last 2 weeks really pisses me off.

He tells me to "ef off" and tells me to "call the police"
So I did.
The cops showed up and knew who they were right away.
They told me these guys have a sense of self-entitlement and are arrogant.
They were also really nice (this is for all you cop bashers out there)
They called me back and told me it was dealt with and they will not be returning.
I thanked them and told them to have a good day and that I appreciated it.

This costs money and they aren't the ones paying for it.
I support the homeless (I give them money when I can) and up until this point i supported the occupy movement (in a small way)

Now...I just see these people as self-entitled,arrogant little douchebags.

Not to try and provoke you, but...

Man, you sure showed them! Next time they'll think about it a little...before..they get thirsty .....for water.

You make me proud, citizen!

I laughed a little at your characterization of the individuals in question.

"2 dirtyish looking guys"

Was that an attempt to demonize the 2 guys? And I find it hard to believe two homeless looking men are going to be condescending to anyone.

judging 99% of the population on the actions of 2 people is stupid. you were looking for something to attack, and you found it

good for you

I would have told them that the pipe to the hose may not have safe to drink water since we've have had some recent sewer issues.

They might start asking after that. The fear of ameobic dysentary tends to do that.

I tend to be a bit inventive in the mental torture department.

I love how everyone is attacking the OP

All the while making excuses and setting up straw men for their "brethren of the OWS"

This seems to be indicative of the mentality of the OWS movement, if it is its no wonder people are distancing themselves......."Whats mine is mine, whats yours is mine, see arent we harmonious"

So fight one corruption in favor of another?

"Oh its just a little water" Hmm no its principle, you know the thing you say big bankers DONT have?

Its hilarious the hypocrisy of OWS supporters defending actions like this, all the while screaming about other people stealing THEIR money, and THEIR future......

No thanks, I think ill stay away from OWS and that agenda.....

OP Good on ya bud
