There is a law in the uk that subliminal messaging cannot be faster that 1/16 th of a second on TV, i bet if you done the research you would find that this is the optimum speed for the brain to take up all the information presented and form an impression.

I'm actually IN this ad, at 0:05 holding up the blank placard in the football stadium, and then again at 0:17 - "Put Me In Coach".

It was shot at the Sydney Football Stadium last year. I'm here to tell you that it was put together by a bunch of effervescent bright-young-things whose thoughts were furthest away from mind control of the masses.

The 'Stop Protesting' bit was supposed to be pure irony - i.e. protesting against protesting. A joke. Nothing more.

Back in the 70's we called them 'blip-verts'
It began in the movie theaters, where one frame of the film would contain the message. This would be on the screen for about 1/25 of a second, way too fast to register conciously.
This has been going on for years.....
Contrary to what the ad people think, many if not most of us are fully aware (at least i hope so
)

Well done sir. I have read Mr. Bernays book. It was and is a real eye opener. I keep a digital copy to give to others interested. Wish I could give you five stars.

Oh yes it bloody is mate!

You apparently have forgotten the most crucial aspect of this conditioning technique..it occurs when your brain has entered a state of conciousness akin to dreaming.

You become VERY suggestible and receptive to implanted thoughts and direction on a subconscious, or if you prefer, a dreamlike state of conciousness.

The 'Stop Protesting, NOW' suggestion being implanted, comes amid a fast moving, almost frenetic sequence of imagery and sounds, that lasts for around a single second. Your concious mind, is effectively asleep while this happens to you. It's very obvious for us to see when it is slowed down and we are in an Alpha brain state, as opposed to a Beta dream state of mind, so it looks like it's not subliminal when we analyse the implantation....but make NO mistake, it IS deliberate, it IS insidious and it IS everywhere and it IS becoming more and more obvious what is being done to control and manipulate the populations of the technological world.

Together with fluoridating the masses to suppress willpower, and encourage subservience and obedience by suppressing the Pineal gland in our brains, which in turn suppresses the individuals ability to effectively imagine and have connection to abstract thought patterns, which lead to losing the ability to recognise the patterns of what they are doing to us (so completes the circle of manipulation)

But make absolutely NO mistake if you're watching TV, you ARE being manipulated by these techniques, whether you like to think you're above such things or not is irrelevant, you're not above it. Intelligence or IQ is neither here nor there, we all are susceptible to this form of brainwashing / mind control, as we all have the same brain function and chemistry, and we all dream and enter a dreamlike state of conciousness.

A curious and strategically timed 'joke', considering all of the protesting going on around the world at the moment...wouldn't you say?

And what of the 'illuminati symbolism? I suppose that too was an inside joke between 'bright young things' producing the ad was it?

The girl standing in front of the giant reptilian backdrop, with it's reptile eye at the apex of her head? A joke right?

Or the guy with the bike crash helmet, who's head is effectively being eaten by a reptile as he slides it on his head...another joke i expect?

No mate, your 'bright young things' are either devious dark young controllers, or they too have been fooled into thinking what they are putting out is ironic, light and fun...when in fact it's none of those things.

That's just a few minutes looking at the ad objectively...if your pineal gland isn't too caked up with fluoride calcification, Imagine what i'd find with a really thorough look at it?!

I have a question here, when did the OWS protests begin? They began September, right? The Sharpie no protest commercial actually was made in April 2010. Here is a link to the upload in JULY, two months before the first OWS protest. www.youtube.com...

Alex Jones again did not research his stuff, he is spreading disinformation once again.

And why are people following a group of Canadians who are not protesting Canadian financial entities, but rather, American ones?

Subliminal means:

sub·lim·i·nal
   [suhb-lim-uh-nl]
adjective Psychology.
existing or operating below the threshold of consciousness

This few seconds of protestors is FAR from below the level of consciousness.

Your concious mind, is effectively asleep while this happens to you. It's very obvious for us to see when it is slowed down....

It's very obvious for us to see at regular speed! It's on there for a FULL 2 SECONDS!
Not 1/16th of a second...

I don't think "objectively" means what you think it means. You are definitely viewing this ad with an agenda of finding "subliminal" advertizing. Paranoia is obvious in your post.

THANK YOU! Nothing can replace good, old-fashioned research!

Alex Jones is in the BUSINESS to frighten you, people! He's as bad as Glenn Beck. Stop listening to his paranoid rants.

A “good” advertiser does not need words or huge banners to do this; they can easily manipulate most with a well thought out placement of colour. It is a big mistake to only look for subliminals when your average ad has a huge list of suggestive messages that go un noticed and without even needing a word.

The advertising world isn't an either/or medium per se. A "good" advertiser will use all tools at their disposal to do the job. So using more than one method of delivery in a commercial isn't uncommon at all. They usually use several.

But you're spot on about placement of color and images to aid in provoking the needed emotions, and the list suggestive of messages. Needing the banner wasn't the point. It's what they wanted in that given instant to bring coherence to the rest of the commercial.

I am a bit shocked noone has mentioned "classical conditioning" (PAVLOVIAN)
Subliminal or not, there is a coupling/association between the visual and the audio :

The coupling of the narrator's "NO PURPOSE" with the visual ( NO PROTESTING SIGN) is basic conditioning, and needs to be repeated for it to be effective. How many times have the MSM pointed out the uselessness and meaningless of the OWS movement???

/had to retrieve my password to post this!!!!! Seriously people!!!! Get your basics together!!!!

Uh, actually, I did mention that.

A year before the 99% protests were even conceived. I guess that blows all the theories.

Lol, no that is not subliminal advertising. And to begin with, subliminal advertising does not even work. Hell, advertising hardly works.

Yes it does work. I remember reading about a test done so years back where they flashed something like "You need a soda" on the screen just for 1 frame on a theater movie screen. In less than a minute after that half of the people were doing just that , buying a soda. It does work, I wished it did not but it does.

I have stated my experience quite clearly in this thread. I have researched subliminals and related sciences quite extensively since the 70's. And if you have worked psyops in the military, as have a few others I have known, you know what I've written in this thread hardly scratches the surface of how deep this rabbit hole goes.

I would assume then, you are familiar with s-quad and silent subs, as well as subsurface carrier signals used in broadcasting among others?

There is a term that all filmmakers are familiar with, the Khuleshov Effect. That was an experiment done by the Russian Filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein, and it was juxtaposing images next to each other to elicit an emotion from the viewer. Khuleshov, the editor of The Battleship Potemkin, had juxtaposed the image of a baby carriage rolling down steps, then the image of a man in another location would show an neutral expression, then cut back to the baby carriage then back to the man. This juxtaposition made the viewer think what they were seeing was terrifying.

This is done in films and it works because it is suggestive, but not subliminal. We see this same type of images in all movies, especially horror films. You can have an image of a house which means nothing in itself, but connect that image to music and you recognize what the film is about. Just throw in some creepy music and you believe the story will be horror, but if the same house had carnival music then you would think it was a family movie.

There is a lot of work that goes into filmmaking, but filmmaking is merely telling a visual story. All great movies have one thing in common, it is how they suggest to the viewer how to feel about the story. The movie may have the worst dialog but if you watch the visual cues and they are aesthetic, then you have understood the story.

Like the avatar BH. Subliminal advertising is not stuck in the 50's theatre's selling popcorn with a 1/25th of a second still frame. This is still used, but it's an old idea. Subliminal and suggestive delivery has branched out far beyond this since that time. Today, whole scenes can be in your face, and still work just fine because several elements are used to confuse and overwhelm the conscious mind, allowing key elements to go through unhindered. It is a similar idea as paraliminals used by some hypnotherapists in their audio recordings. A seperate voice in each ear giving similar but offtimed or reworded messages. The conscious mind becomes bogged down trying to hear both at once, but the subconscious picks up on both. This same method can be staged in a visual manner, and works quite well.

Not subliminal if I can clearly see it. However anyone making a sign for protest might want to put somewhere on the sign - brought to you by Sharpie - Might make a few exec's think over at Sanford. Hey besides they are Made in the USA!

I agree with everything you said. I am not, in any way, saying that this type of advertizing doesn't happen. I know it does. My only point is that this particular case - Alex Jones claiming that this ad is supposed to discourage OWS protestors - is BUNK.

It's an ad for expression, encouraging people to express themselves with markers. The protestors could have had a sign reading Stop Free Speech! and that would have had the same ironic message.

About my avatar... do you see the subliminal message?
Thanks.
