I very much agree about the use of religion for control. I do have a problem with the part about an all powerful being controlling and deciding your life. Have you read any of the holy texts of these religions? Most of them teach that it is one's own responsibility, or duty, to consciously act compassionately. Now the actions taken by religious men and women are a different issue entirely.

I think you might be very interested in this: PHARMACRATIC INQUISITION
(video.google.com...)

It is about early mushroom cults, astro-theology and their possible effects on early culture and mythos.
It covers Santa Claus, Jesus, knights of the round table, and even the Holy Grail.

Have you looked into the teachings Theosophy? LoL how about Dianetics?!
Still waiting for a theory on the origin of matter. . . . and I wonder how they are going to bring Physics, Quantum Physics, or Metaphysics (practically magick, I mean really? the state of matter doesn't exist until its measured? ) together.

Your post and reply is completely backwards and is disinformation.

TPTB have and always will be pushing retarded judaistic religions on people since it makes them easir to control, it also makes them mindless little robots who do whatever some stupid book or some cracked out preacher tells them to.

If anything ATHEISM/AGNOSTICISM is what gives people a conscience, ATHEISM/AGNOSTICISM is what gives people the proper logic and critical thinking skills to see the error of their actions as opposed to some stupid religious idiot who acts on either reward of heaven or punishment of hell.

Why would TPTB push atheism on people when their stupid wars rely on religious disagreement and jihad?

DISINFORMATION!

Last time I checked, the so called TPTB promote Christianity and Judaism while painting Islam and Atheism as groups of degenerates.

Not sure where this Atheism/TPTB theory came from...

God has been a very effective means to control people throughout history. Why would governments want to rid themselves of their most effective and valuable tool?

Indeed, and this is true not only today, but also in the time of Jesus:

“Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.”

Seneca (Roman philosopher, mid-1st century AD)

You seem to have quite a small minded view of what 'Atheism' means, and who they are. Though I don't consider myself an Atheist I have found that the majority of the ones that I know are more moral than most of the Christians I grew up with. I hope you can broaden your perspective a bit....perhaps you should actually try to get to know some of them, rather than thinking they are all boogeymen.

Many Christians I have known use the Bible to justify all types of Hatred....something I've never seen my Atheist friends doing. They seem to be a bit more in touch with their own conscience rather than allowing a rule book to give them loopholes through which to hate people different than them. One doesn't need a rule book to know right from wrong...Nor does one need threats of Hellfire to keep oneself moral.

Keep in mind.....I have also learned that not all Christians are small minded and ignorant. Such blanket proclamations about a group of people judged solely on their beliefs is simply undefendable, in my personal experience.

My posts simply demonstrate the evil that can be attributed to atheism.

Obviously there are going to be immoral and generally "evil" people in ANY group. Because you can find an evil atheist doesn't mean you stop trusting all of them and that all of them are time bombs. If you were being sarcastic to make a point you should have explicitly stated such as sarcasm is hard to recognize online when all we have to go on is text.

Atheism is a religion, just like all other religions. I love how the atheists are defending their religion and calling themselves better than Christians and others.

Wow, thank you for the citation. Was not aware of it. Nothing changes on general scale,ha? More gadgets ,that's all.
On topic,OP - I met some very moral atheists and some very immoral religious people. And the opposite. Such wide spread of Atheism ,on my opinion, is due to inability of religions to let go of scientifically disputed dogmas in time.
That's it. Fighting against evolution theory was counterproductive. Burning people for Earth rotating around Sun was super-counterproductive. And ctr. So people are used to look at religions as outdated concept and at God as some old man in the sky concept.
If there is TPTB, creating a religion would be of benefit to them ,not the opposite. Some Atheists are very religious in their struggle to convert everyone to not believing in God, but Atheism lacks rituals so it will not do.

You don't see a "global flood" to rid the world of evil as deciding and controlling? The killing of every first born son? These acts by "god" are in these so called holy books. I agree there are many great teachings in these texts, but I don't need faith in a god to understand the truths of them.

I do not believe in any god or religion. does that make me an atheist? no its a definition of someone that has no belief in a god, it isn't a religion. it is a statement of choice only. It is no different than stating "Hamburgers are the bestest in the whole world." does that make me a religion of 1 in hamburgerology???

If TPTB want people to remain sheeple, then they would generally be well served to promote religion instead of atheism.

Consider what the bible says about debunking and skepticism - basically it's against it.

In a big way, the christian bible is all about encouraging people to ignore evidence, and just believe what you are told.

Religion demands fear and obedience. You never have to take responsibility for your actions as you are "saved" or it's "god's will" or the devil made you do it. Religion results in the murder and death of the non-believer. It is an ongoing Dark Age when religion exists.

atheism demands thought, reason, responsibility for one's actions, the love and care of others, reason, etc.

Religion is the greatest scourge upon mankind since the beginning of time. It is not to be tolerated.

I'm sure you know I realise that Titen. I chose not to water down my posts. I hope it's enough that after several
requests, your compliance to deny ignorance, has been carefully weighed with your request that I do the same.
Again, I respectfully comply.

Wrong

You have failed to understand what an atheist is

An atheist does not believe in a deity...thats it
There is no consensus amongst atheists about:
Life after death
Unicorns
String Theory
Ghosts
Aliens
Elves
etc etc etc.

Atheists simply mean they have no belief in a deity...so please, stop misrepresenting the beliefs of an entire segment of the population with your drivel...if you can't be bothered in spending the time to research something, then don't make a thread about it with your opinion.

Next time you want to do a "atheists are bad" thread...start with a google on secular countrys and crime rate...compare them with religious countrys...then scratch your head and wonder why things seem to be factually opposite of your hypothesis.

Yeah so as an atheist***, I'm pretty sick and tired of being accused of being a moraless heathen. To be perfectly honest, Christians tend to be the most self-righteous, egotistical, and down right judgmental, group of all.

No kidding. And I was brought up Christian - - so I am not talking about something I don't know.

Actually - - Wiccans have been the most loving accommodating and accepting people I have ever met. I have found most of the Earth believers tend to be that way.

After many years searching for God - - I am now Atheist.

I also grew up a Christian, it wasn't until I hit 20 years old that I realized why I've grown to dislike church and all. And that was simply because I can't back a religion or faith that has been used for the MURDER of millions of people throughout the ages.

As for the OP, what a load of crap you posted. This is nothing more than a typical religious generalization created by Christians. They are terrified of something that doesn't exist, and that's just talking about their belief in god. Then you get to the fact that when they realize that there's people who don't believe in ANY god they find themselves baffled, as if a UFO just landed in their front yard. Homie, get real, Atheists aren't the problem and never have been the problem. If there is truly a problem to be dealt with for the sake of human civilization, that problem would be religion. Sorry, but Religion is simply the number 1 killer in the world, whether you admit to this truth or not.

Why is this in the general conspiracys section?

This is clearly a rant.
The information is faulty in the ops (atheists do not "believe in no life after death"...in the same way they do not have a unanimous belief on what toppings go best on pizza (pepperoni and sausage of course, but I digress)

So, the whole post, and indeed thread is set on false information...and is then yelled at for the false statement...its a entire strawman thread.

If this stands and remains, I will be making a opposing thread on why Christianity is promoted by TPTB because christians believe (unanimously) in persecuting gay people wherever they are..because some do it (WBC)

Question

Do you believe in invisible people existing in a giant cave on mars?
Chances are, you will say no to this

Are you open to the concept, but just not going to believe it until you see some actual hard proof?
Chances are, you said yes to this

Is that a religion?

TOTAL baloney.

Religious people are capable of both good and evil.
Atheists are capable of both good and evil.
Morals and ethics DO NOT STEM FROM RELIGION.
Religion may prescribe certain sets of morals/ethics, but morals/ethics DO NOT prescribe religion.
The powers that be have consistently used EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN to control people. It's not about the TOOL that's used so much as HOW it's used. Every good thing of THE PEOPLE has been perverted to legitimize power, wealth concentration, war, tyranny, oppression, exploitation, destruction, etc.
Atheism is not a conspiracy, it's an enlightenment.

Because "The Powers That Be" want this western society aka you (assuming most members are from these regions) to be more rotten than rotten, it's clearly one of their goals! Common sense has become rare and that's their intention. Only on a few places like ATS you can from time to time read posts by people that still got common sense. But it's getting rarer. Society has lost its mind. TPTB have got you there where they want you and with you I don't mean the freethinkers but the ignorant atheist cattle that dominates this completely ........ up society on every level. Especially in the "civilized" western region of the world Atheism has done its job properly.

Atheism is a "all Clear"-Sign for taking no responsibility for "your" actions. It's a free ticket for egoism, narcissism, cheating, lying, violence, vulgarity and indecent behavior. Because according to atheists there is no life after death, it's just this one time that you are here. So "you" want to have as much fun as possible regardless of the consequences for the rest of the world/people. Right?

But what will happen when people suddenly became aware of their actions? What if some event caused that everyone could sense what someone else is feeling? What would happen when people suddenly feel what they are doing or have done to others? Would if you would suddenly feel the pain and sadness of that child in China that sewed your trousers for $0.50 a day?
I wonder how many people would be very ashamed for- and disgusted by themselves because they took willingly advantage of it? Will many people suffer a spontaneous depression or a nervous breakdown? Will many people go insane? Will there be mass Suicides? Is that what TPTB wants?
Don't answer that question only for yourself, but ask yourself how the herds will respond too.

I'm not a religious man but I do believe that there is more between heaven and earth, I've seen too many (personal) coincidences that have convinced me that there is more to life than atheism, but what? That is also one of the reasons I joined ATS.
Despite the overwhelming amount of hoaxes, pranks and misinterpretations, there is still plenty of stuff that can't be debunked. I also think there is some truth in the so called judgment day, 2012 and other doomsday scenarios. My gut feeling (that I've experienced every since I was a kid) says that it won't be long now, things are speeding up. It's not my gut feeling alone, my personal experiences like genuine sightings, an experience with a poltergeist, the many prophecies, years of intensive researching the mysteries of this Earth, modern science (string theory) and many other things confirmed this feeling many other members here on ATS experience in some way.

Baloney or...?

Totally agree with every word !
