Majic please answer my questions I posed to you in my previous reply.

I don't know if you're required to answer, but I will PM you the questions if you like.

I also will not stop pestering you until I get answers for my questions, since you are trying to make me look foolish.

Yeah. A thread about the thread you made (which was removed) about another thread because the original thread wasn't to your liking.

Seriously. How many threads about threads you don't like would you expect we should have?

Exactly, some topics are off limits.

Indeed.

And those topics are clearly defined by the Terms & Conditions.

Oh! Wow.

Will you also ask for your money back?

None of your "issues" in this case are not well-defined by the Terms & Conditions for which you agreed before creating your account here.

Skeptic Overlord,
Is ATS under any pressure (whatsoever) to delete threads that are perceived to be anti-semitic, or are what you (all) consider to be anti-semitic?
Is criticism of Israel considered anti-semitic, and are therefore under careful scrutiny?
If so, why?

The price of success: A popular conspiracy web site that is well moderated must keep reminding the paranoid people it attracts yearly that they are not intentionally serving the system they are so paranoid about.

LOVE IT!!

The best thing about ATS is the research behind the propaganda slavered over the country, the alt news and excellent content by the smart set...I've learned a great deal of very interesting, and valuable information about all kinds of things in the time I've spent here, so good on you for sure. The diversity of opinion is refreshing.

The worst thing is that ATS is a closed loop system, I think it could possibly serve as a little corral. Not necessarily so we can be monitored or even influenced, but so we are kept interacting over the web instead of the streets. Have you (SO) ever considered these implications? How a good intention might pave the road to somewhere we don't want to go?

It's a living eh?

Please tell me you didn't read my previous posts, because if you missed the numerous parts about sending a U2U, I must confess my fear that no form of communication will work.

As I mentioned previously in so many words, and many more, your personal grievances aren't the topic of this thread, and I'm really trying -- quite unsuccessfully, I'm afraid -- not to participate in further derailing it.

Hence. U2U. Please.

And. Please. Read. What. I. Write.

Thanks.

I cannot choose your words for you, and thus do not have to power to make you look foolish. Only you have that power, and I urge you not to exercise it too freely.

Again. Please. For your own good. Let's take this silliness out of the public eye and do both of us a favor.

Sheesh!

JEEZUZ!
Did you not read the opening post or other posts in this thread?

Is criticism of Israel considered anti-semitic, and are therefore under careful scrutiny?

In this post, in this very thread I outlined how we had to end up banning a Super Moderator for such an intense pro-Israel stance, he could not perform his duties as an ATS staff member.

Ah crap, now you're going to have me get all philosophical and stuff.

I've been in the trenches in "user generated content" since before such a term existed. Starting with dial-up bulletin board systems and helping to run the single-most popular forum on CompuServe (my children's books were there), I've witnessed and guided the birth and toddler years of this "thing."

The concept of a "smart crowd" of people, who have passion for their ideas, continually creating and refining a core ecosystem of content is an incredibly powerful idea. And as that "smart crowd" continues its evolution (as ATS has), the natural progression is for more and more people to become interested in what this unique crowd has to say.

That's the basic genesis of the aspirational idea that inspired me to leave a cushy EVP job with a Madison Avenue advertising agency (part of a global network), and devote my full time to watering, feeding, pruning, and sweating over the ATS smart crowd.

There is a fundamental paradigm shifting (sorry for the cliche) idea here that is worthy of a full-in effort. If we (The Above Network) can foster a meaningful smart crowd (ATS) into other media extensions such as radio, books, video, television, and more, then we have created a means whereby the online user-generated ecosystem has the opportunity to not just influence but dictate aspects of offline media. And we're well-more than half-way there.

Consider the potential ramifications of a "smart crowd" with the topical mix ATS which has been elevated to a position of clout such that it can dictate the content of mainstream media properties. Think about it.

It's what keeps me going.

Netchicken was originally demoted by Admin for pranking members and then removed from staff after admitting to stirring up drama on the boards just for the fun of it. In this case, there was a great deal of discussion among Admin and SuperMods once he was demoted to moderator.

ThomasCrowne was originally demoted by Admin for being overly abrasive in his interactions with members, and eventually removed from staff for having an intensely pro-Israel agenda such that he was incapable of moderating impartially. He removed several threads critical of the Israeli government, he was demoted, and the threads restored. Again, in this case, lots of discussion among senior staff.

Thank you

Specifically the ThomasCrowne part with the Mod being biased and Censoring ATS threads that were abrasive to his own thoughts.

I think i trust the 3 amigos and Mods a bit more now.

There is is too much diversity of opinion allowed on ATS for it to be totally controlled. However I remember seeing a documentary on governments that have software to scan for certain phrases on the internet, they will be monitored and if necessary responded to, with people who's job it is to do that.
ATS is one of my must visit sites, everyday, News breaks here pretty much faster than anywhere else.
Too SO and his OP I say just ignore the 3% of the membership that are so paranoid that they say these things.
Trust the membership at ATS to shut them down.
The very nature of ATS is to attract these types. If paranoid people get out of hand with the T & C ban them.
Recently one member who I personally felt was violating the T & C, was finally banned for his perpetual arrogant tone towards other ATS members with different opinions, The MODS are doing their job quite well, I say.

Skeptic O-

Sure, I see it happening, especially on threads like the Fukushima monster. It's a priceless document that will serve historians of the future about a major disaster. Because we who frequent ATS tend to be cranks and malcontents in general, you gotta remember the "worst possible scenario" is what gets the juices flowing and optimism is difficult when you are inundated by a stream of corruption, the likes of which drives your readership. You see where I'm coming from.

I agree that the potential is there for your dream of greater influence to be realized, but to actually get it and use it is another matter. And you'll cross that bridge eventually. I hope you and the other owners are able to continue to stay as ethical as you currently are. Rupert Murdoch may have started out a nicer guy...maybe?

I think nothing is more powerful than the truth, and nothing more invigorating than seeking it out. It's what we do.

All I know is that I've never seen so many chosen messengers of God all gathered in one place (and awaiting further instructions on whatever the hell their crucial message for mankind is) than right here. It's a little intimidating, actually. Oh sure, there's a lot of political stuff, and that Illuminati secret handshake stuff knocking around here, but it's the % of transcendent saviors of the future - here and available for direct contact - that's most impressive.

Frankly, I have no idea how the site's bandwidth handles all these miracle people packed into one place. Then again, God's power is infinite, so why not. Right?

You must have had a lot of fun on your break. Or else you are now letting the single malt do the talking. Based on the quote above, you let your hubris run over your premise. Now compare what you wrote to the stated goals of mindwar.

"In its strategic context, mindwar must reach out to friends, enemies and neutrals alike across the globe ... through the media possessed by the United States which have the capabilities to reach virtually all people on the face of the Earth. These media are, of course, the electronic media-television and radio. State of the art developments in satellite communication, video recording techniques, and laser and optical transmission of broadcasts make possible a penetration of the minds of the world such as would have been inconceivable just a few years ago." Above all else, snip, mindwar must target the population of the United States,

You're well more than half-way to what? Am I to conclude that Aquino is the architect and you are the engineer?

Please allow me to clear this up, as I don't wanna cause any problems here.

I was trying to make a thread about the fact that speculative threads making outrageous claims garner so much attention and response, which puts it on the front page of ATS. In turn, making the overall content of ATS look a bit "outrageous", while a lot of other threads with important research and information are put on the back burner. I used a specific example which was probably not the best idea. I apologize for that.

You yourself, SO, made a thread responding to all of the "ridiculous" threads labeling ATS COINTELPRO and saying how it takes away from the overall content of the site, and that's exactly what I"m implying with my thread that got deleted.(although I'm addressing a different aspect of silliness on ATS)

Also, given the ebb and flow of this thread, what better place to bring this up?

I don't think I should be ostricized for bringing up legitimate concerns about something we all love and would love to see get even better.

Only those looking to perpetuate lies about ATS, and attempt to locate non-existent skeletons in closets would make such a connection between that, and what we're trying to do with ATS.

Why are you still here?

Obviously, between this and the Christian Bailey nonsense, you don't believe anything I say.
