New video. Comet Elenin? Ufo? or possible tear in the atmosphere?

Wow, I was about to browse the whole page but when I saw the post about the weather balloon and all the others were says Elinin....I just can't to say this:

IT'S AN AIRPLANE, Thats a CONTRAIL of a plane flying away from you...one of the more natural non-chemtrail kind, so I will level with you that it is 'odd' since most last all day and streak from horizon to horizon.

Could also have been the x37b returning from it flight. It was launched a few weeks back, this could be its return. flying over Austrailla and NZ towords the west coast of the US.

what you guys are forgetting that this "whatever it is" is in the same position in the sky for the last 3 or 4 nights in a row at the very same time.

Just as the sun dips below the western horizon it lights up and stay there for 10 to 15 minutes before it disappears......if it a contrail or ship re entering the atmosphere how would this be happening at the very same time each day? or why?

It's not a comet. It's the 1 of the 2 new space shuttle things. I forget what they're called. Do a google search for new space ships or something. They kinda look like space shuttles only mini.

To me it looks like a contrail like sunspot said. Maybe we could see if there's more tomorrow?

This guy shows a cluster close to the sun.

@ 1: 32 it looks like the vector in the NASA symbol. not sure what that could mean.. for people who don't know what I am talking about see the moon rising video made by jose escamilla

Who is saying it's showed up the last 4 days?

If it has, as has been said it will be because it's the same flight flying each evening.

It has showed up for at least 2 consecutive days, look at the youtube account of the person that posted the videos and you can clearly see he has posted a couple of nights in a row. Same flight each evening? Dude, it looks like a comet and its huge.....IT IS NOT A PLANE CONTRAIL!!!!

Let me explain:

Have you heard of lunar eclipses? Thats when the moon passes behind the Earth relative to the sun and enters the Earth's shadow. The Moon appears red. This is because the atmosphere of the Earth acts as a prism and refracts the sun's light. Long wavelength light, like red, is refracted more than shorter wavelengths like blue. So red light gets refracted more and faintly illuminates the Moon, causing it to appear a deep red. This is because, at full eclipse, the moon is on the opposite side of the Earth than the Sun so only the deepest reds get refracted enough to illuminate the Moon.

This means that when the sun is just below the horizon slightly longer wavelengths at the lower end of the spectrum are refracted so an airplane with a contrail heading towards a sunrise/sunset vividly reflect those wavelengths - causing a vivid red or orange reflection from its contrail.

This is scientific fact. You can try to deny it as much as you want depending on how much you want to believe in your fantasies but it is a fact!

I suggest you try to educate yourself before pontificating on things you obviously have no knowledge of.

Says the new ats member that just signed up in March of this year....I did not need the lesson. It is not a plane nor a contrail. You have done nothing but post words. Where is your proof that is a contrail? Scientific fact guy?

Last year similar examples from various UFO forums....

I seen this anomaly again last night while driving across KS... It never went away, dissipated or anything. In fact. It was there as the stars began to appear and the sun was off the horizon. Then, clouds began to block it.
But I'm home now, and have my telescope set up, so if its clear ill be getting a close look tonight.

I'm SO disappointed. We are under storm advisory so I deff won't be able to get anything tonight, the thing is. Is its rare for the sun set to be clear because it seems there's always clouds during that time on the horizon as the sun sets. (That seems to me a conspiracy in itself. But its been clear and in the 80s till the storm hit today. I've seen this anomaly in my town 2 weeks ago as the sun sat. Then, last night 2 hours away. The sun sat, there was a star this anomaly, then another star, to the left of where the sun was setting both times. What I'm seeing looks like a disk, or perhaps to be clearer like a cresant moon, aside from the on the bottom. Sorry so long. I just like to be detailed.
Anyway... Tomorrow is suppose to be sunny. Let's hope for a clear veiw tomorrow. Not to disappoint you but, I don't have a can on the telescope & only have a cam phone. I'm getting a droid tomorrow. Hopefully the cam on that can pick it up.

just put the cam from the phone on the eyepiece of your scope!

Going back to that other thread on this same subject which is now closed, all those videos and pictures you posted were the same ones that Phage posted. NO, it does not look the same. It is close, but again the video of the "object" was in the sky for 2 CONSECUTIVE DAYS, contrails would not remain in the sky, the same part of the sky. You still keep avoiding my original question.....why? Prove that is contrails.
