It is a self-published treatise. It is addressed to criminals and it details criminal activity. It explicitly lays out threats to the safety of children, along with the means to weasel one's way out of doing the time. It is a threat, a widely addressed one, and that does not make it any less of a threat. You can laugh all you want, but a threat to a huge part of the population is a threat nonetheless.

That is not entrapment the book was already for sale and ready to be sent. Entrapment is when the sheriff goes to the pedo author and asks him to publish already written material. But even that is a bad example let me try and explain entrapment once more.

Say I have a Delorian I can't get my time machine car on the market, so some FBI guys show up pretending to be drug dealers and offer me money as an investment. I say no and they come back again. That's entrapment.

If an undercover cop can get away with soliciting her body to a passerby then for f***s sake go Chris Hanson on this guy. Get his IP and pester him all day on the interweb. Sure it's probably not right or legal per say but cops got shields they don't have to report the 14 times their sting operation failed. I'm just saying we give these guys power to enforce the law and keep us safe, sometimes they want to do the latter more so than the enforcing, so be it go ahead but don't trample rights in the process put your own ass on the line not ours. The police are getting disgustingly bloated.
In my opinion it's the tactics here that's the conspiracy cops are afraid to take risks nowadays for some reason.

sorry, but unless its specifically addressed to each individual child in the world, its a perceived threat.

thats the kind of threat that is a crime.
edit on 21-12-2010 by RelentlessLurker because: (no reason given)

No crime.whatsoever...it just points the way..and thats all it needs mate ..give ideas and encouragement!!
Personally..and as I think I am "normal" guy as far as I am concerned ..anything between consenting adults ..and I mean anything is fine...I cannot for the life of me understand why any man would want be even curious about children in the sexual context...

However, I will tell you this ...in much of my past work I have had to care for those that have been subjected to abuse as a child...these peoples actions not only ruin the child but ruin the adult...and also ruins their own children because of the damage...yet the abuser will do their time and walk away...See the problem is and especially in America ..IMHO there are no taboos...its all freedom freedom to be.. say act...but freedom has a heavy price for children...when we allow as adults ..perversions that target our children to be excused...in the name of free speach and rights....

A "reasonably perceived" threat of harm is a crime.
So, even if we dance within your definitions of this work, it's still a crime.

For all you first amendments rights before the safety of a child people...why don't you go to his hearing and stand up for his rights. If you believe so much in his rights....go protest for him outside the courthouse....let the media see your faces...let the world see the people that are willing to fight for a pedo's rights.

I haven't read the book so I am only assuming what is on the inside. If it provides courageous words to his fellow pedophiles than this book has crossed the line. That is like me writing a book about how to cook and deal crack.

So who get's to draw the line? I think the line gets drawn when society becomes under a threat. Freedom of speech is only good if there isn't threats. I did read the description and it seems as though the author is trying to set rules for the illegal activity known as pedophilia.

That truly does trump freedom of speech.

i think some of you are confusing our opposition of making this illegal, with defending this guy.

im simply touting what works VS. whats been proven failure time and time again.

if you want to get all emotional and do something then DO IT. write a letter, talk to the guy, beat him up (sigh), pee on his lawn, slander him over the internet, tell everybody about him, start a website called www.anti-whateverhisnameis-.com, blacklist him throughout every facet of society.

just dont cry to the government to solve it.

thats laughable.

state statute please.

the only way this book could be a threat is if its placed too high up on a bookshelf to where it might fall and injure somebody.

Is the life of one child worth losing the first amendment for everyone?

No.

This argument isnt putting kids safety 2nd....I think this book is horrible and whats in it is horrible....but as soon as we allow the government to start taking away our rights then we are in deep crap...where does it ever end. Iive about 15 min from the Polk County Court House so I'll be there in support....not in support of the book but in support of our 1st amendment right

We don't care about this man's rights! We care about our own. There are no special circumstances if we allow this to happen or encourage it it's not a slippery slope, justice has already taken the plunge.

Why can't some of you understand that cops are supposed to follow the rules in obtaining evidence and suspects. (No matter how despicable or evil the SUPPOSED criminal is) Miranda rights weren't just for Senior Miranda they're for everyone.

This thread is proof why we deserve our current government and much worse, why FEMA camps are a good thing and why it really is ok to steal a presidential election. We just don't know what's good for us.

The FL police have no jurisdiction in CO where this guy sent the book from.
That means this couldn't be a legal sting operation.

So, way to fail on that account. Especially after your advice on not speaking about things you don't know about.

You obviously don't know about the difference in a legal sting, and entrapment, and should have just stayed quiet about it. Ditto for the concept of jurisdiction, which you also obviously don't understand.

Anyways...
Entrapment is when the government encourages you to do something you wouldn't normally do.

This guy has been sending this book for awhile, and hasn't gotten arrested before.
Therefore he didn't make it his business to send the book places it could be construed as illegal.

Since he didn't regularly send the book to places it could be illegal. When the sheriff office encouraged him to send them the book, by purchasing it and having it sent to their jurisdiction where it is "illegal", they committed entrapment.

Anyways, I notice you failed to address the rest of my post.

Why aren't you protesting the bible as well?
Why are you being such a hypocrite about what books are okay or not?
Why don't you address my entire post, instead of just one little section?

Fair enough.

You claim he is a guilty pedophile, because he has written about it.

You have written about how he should be murdered in police custody. But you don't claim you are a guilty murderer.

Hypocrisy.

Your the worst kind... You think your right.. But are completely IGNORANT of the law..

The book was sent to Florida.. Period!!!!

How can you not see this? Are you that stubborn, youll play dumb to prove yourself right?

It is not entrapment.. You are claiming it is.. Now prove it.. Show me the law.. Provide both Co and Fl.. because Fl is different from CO.. That is the loophole the cops used..

Ignorance is bliss! eh?

You think that FL police have jurisdiction to perform sting operation through the mail (federal) against CO citizens.

You are the ignorant person, between us concerning the law.
