The nature of the arrest is perfectly understandable.
The police fooled someone into breaking a law, that they wouldn't normally break.

You don't seem to understand the nature of a statute. It is the resident of FL's duty to know and follow FL's statutes. It is not the responsibility of someone selling material to know the statutes in place, where you live, and protect you from breaking them. The person breaking the statute, is the resident of FL that purchased it and had it sent there, not the person that sold it to them.

Not sure how I would feel visiting friends with something like that in their library. Not sure how you can say the 1st amendment was meant for such perversity. I dunno man, this world is pretty screwed up.

It doesn't matter if the sight says it will ship to FL or not.

The book wouldn't have been sent, if the police hadn't ordered it. The police encouraged the guy to break a law he never broke before.

Entrapment.

PS - declaring things like a petulant child doesn't make you correct either.

the sheriff ordered the book, I think the sheriff entrapped him and should be on charges as well for ordering & receiving obscene materials
The guy was in no way under investigation in florida, for ANY CRIME, therefore the "its evidence" couldnt be used as evidence in a trial

Well, your real shortcoming is your flawed and illogical assumption that I only read one article.

I read several, and it's obvious they entrapped him. I've detailed how already, and won't be repeating myself for your sake. You simply aren't that important.

Look if this guy was arrested and is known as a pedophile ...he must have done something. This guy SAYS this book is not to help pedophiles...fine, whatever, if this is truly the case though then why is the book named "The Pedophile's GUIDE to Love and Pleasure". I'm sorry, but this title alone is too much for me to read, let alone the book. I will not read this garbage. A pedophile is a pedophile. Maybe it doesn't tell specifically how to harm a child, but if it is called "The Pedophile's GUIDE to Love and Pleasure" then it certainly insinuates that it is alright to have sex with children and condones it. Anyone who even supports this guy is sick. Let's expand....you tell me in your own words ....just what this book is about then? making love to adults? Possibly a book called "The Pedophile's guide to Love and Pleasure"....yet with no reference at all about having sex with children?? Say what you want, but if a man has sex with a child it is NOT a beautiful thing......not to the child! It is a scary, abomination and the child does get hurt. We all can guess what might be done and I am guessing that will hurt a child. Furthermore, it's not usually some attractive guy or female that does this to children, it is usually a dirty skank or a smelly, fat, old, creepy man who can't get a female because he's so weird and awkward. A social castaway, if you will. This author is a pedophile and I don't care what you say, it is wrong and ABOMINABLE. The book, is a "guide" to pedophilism....it says so right in the title. Whether the book goes into specifics about how to hurt a child (depending on how YOU define hurting), is irrelevant. This is not an act that should have good media coverage, or books about it or anything else. Yeah, some creeps are doing it, and will continue until caught......but we don't need positive coverage about a sickness like pedophilism and some huy getting to be a millionaire off of the pain and suffering of children everywhere. This trash only promotes more people to want to look into it were they to read it. Books like this might be the one final push that someone needs to branch out from the internet to real life scenarios. Also, if this guy or any other guy were able to get his book out to the world then pedo's everywhere would try, maybe succeed, and the whole world would have to shield their childrens eyes everytime they went into a book store. Man.......I don't even need to really say a thing.....it is sick and putrid!

No, the choice to send the book is 100 percent this authors choice. I do not see how he can legally claim entrapment.

This dude might be pretty weird, but tell you the truth, if I thought it would pad my bank account, I'd have no problem with writing, hell I dunno, a "Nun's Guide to Sodomizing Llamas." The 1st amendment was meant for pretty much everything that someone might someday have a problem with. Which is rather the entire damn point of it.

Considering that the sheriff consulted with the state's Attorney General before embarking on this course of action, I think it is quite likely that the question of whether or not it was entrapment was discussed. We cannot know for sure, of course. However, I am willing to wager that the Attorney General is not a clueless dummy.
