Sorry Phage, in this video shows an titan missile is being fired on verry long distance. You see in this video it goes also slowly.

But the Titan was an ICBM delivery system. Kinda large.

maybe it wasnt the last one!

Nothing to worry about. Someone just pushed the wrong button, that's all. In accordance with well-practiced, military rules, no one owns up or informs the general public.

Fear. This could be just a stunt to keep the proletariat on it's collective toes. It worked after 9-11 didn't it? There may be a quite little admission on the back page of a newspaper that it was just a test. Meanwhile America will be talking about that mysterious missile launch around the water cooler for the next few weeks wondering if it was Al-Queda or possibly "domestic terrorists" of some sort.

You should hear him do live police/car chases....funny stuff.

Shep is handling it well.
I mean, what else is there to say on this? It has all been said, assumed, guessed, etc.

Maybe it was a UFO underwater shooting weapons thru the surface. Havent heard that one yet!

Airplanes taking off do not create contrails.
Airplanes at high altitudes create contrails. Airplanes flying in from over the horizon appear to rise from the sea.

I don't see a rocket engine. I see an airplane reflecting sunlight.

You are the only person on the planet saying its an airplane..
Do you know something the military and every other agency doesnt??

I am only up to page 8 so this may have been asked. I know nothing zip nada about missiles, rockets, etc. I am curious first of all about a couple things. If I have been counting correctly, this is actually the third launch of something unknown in the last few days? 2 the first day and this is the third?

No one seems to know where they have come down as far as I know or havent heard yet.

My question is this. Could we have launched to have Stopped something from Coming In? I know some have touched on meteor and stuff, but I mean, could we have all ready been shot at from another country and we are just taking them down? I imagine if we caught something over the ocean and took it down, who would know really except the military, or a wandering fisherman, cargo ship or something? Like someone jumped the gun on the game they like to play? Of course they wont tell us till they are ready. Just musing as I do.

Im going back to page 8 now and hopefully this will have been answered by the time I get ot here.

A little educated guessing here...
IMHO, it's not a modern ICBM. Plume looks too dark and dirty, speed is relatively slow for a missile.
Something a couple of generations old that could've been procured by someone with a relatively low
budget. My first thoughts were a surface to air missile probably aimed at something departing LAX.
I Haven't been able to access a very good copy of the video, not that it was very good to begin with.
If stage seperation can be determined, than it is probably not anti-aircraft.

Govt.'s lack of knowledge is troubling.

That is what I am truly concerned about. Just say it was a missile and it flies off somewhere and actually takes out a target. Maybe it was a test program that went bad. What if they were having war games with North Korea ,China, Iran, Isreal etc? What if it lands in a populated area of one of these countries? You could apologize all you want but i fear that some countries would not accept it and retaliate. It is all speculation on my part and their is a lot of "what if's" but to me this is something that could turn into something really nasty. I hope it does not turn out this way but you never know.We will have to sit around like good little sheeple and see what happens.

This is no missile. It's a rocket carrying something into orbit.

As Phage said, missiles are up and gone in the blink of an eye but a large rocket carrying something into orbit would be visible for much longer. This footage reminds me of a space shuttle launch. Those aren't contrails, they're smoke trails from a rocket engine.

So just what the hell are they firing up?

I have seen a Trident SLBM launch. It looked just like that one in the video.

SLBM's are solid fuel rockets. They leave a trail just like you see in the video.

Lol I have even seen some claim that it was a METEIOR. Kinda going the wrong way for that though

I am pretty sure that it's not a plane as well. Just look at the video.
Also this may have not been a security risk when it happened but the longer they wait with out telling us something the bigger the risk/threat gets.

Hi I am new here. I have been reading through all the threads. My introduction will come later. I am late for work as it is but could not stray away in hope of an answer to this missile story. Any way I am responding to the comment on China subs. Yes they have been here with out us knowing until after the fact. A few years ago maybe 5...not sure. Since that time the navy has been training Dolphins, honorary sonar techs. I have seen and played with them (not swimming, but that would have been cool) and have pics of them with my son. My ex is a Chief petty officer- sonar tech. Was lucky to be invited to see these amazing creatures. I do not know much of this China sub story but i have been a navy brat all my life. Dad just retired senior chief. Military is not my thing so i do not care to know much but I have heard in small talk that China has visited us. I do not have any more info than that. I do not presume to really know anything but what I heard...a small part of a huge conversation. maybe one of our ATS members knows something more of this since I know very little. But I thought I would put it out there.
