The Truth about the 33 miners/Copiapo mining accident

I am sorry. But this story is about 33 miners who got trapped underground, and were rescued later. The first 17 days were in fact pure "HELL" as a metaphor for the torture of them thinking they were going to die.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I would like to offer an experiment of taking you, placing you 2000 feet underground in complete darkness, little water and food, and the thought of you never making it back to the surface. How do you think you would fair?

This is about PSYCHOLOGY and nothing more.

Did they have a religious experience? Absolutely. And after having to crap in a corner of a mine for 70 days, I think you would have a religious experience as well.

Lets not create something out of nothing. There is no conspiracy here. Those miners will have psychological fall out for the rest of their lives, and if they require a faith in "god" then so be it in order to get through the ordeal.

Religion is nothing more than inspired faith in a "salvation" from a non-existing entity.

I am religious. I believe in a supreme being. But I dont believe in an old man sitting in the clouds playing "Sims III" on all of us nor do I believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa, and all of the other religious icons that are out there.

Nothing to see here folks....step aside.

Religious Zealotry to the extreme. I didn't even watch the video after reading the first couple of posts TheTruthIsFromGod condemning and threatening was all I needed to see. I'm a Christian but I can truly see how people can be turned away when having to face people like that.

TheTruthIsFromGod do you think you are doing more good or bad by threatening that people will burn in hell if they don't obey your MASTER? Any free thinking adult with an ounce of common sense can see through your threats and hopefully just laugh it off as nonsensical ravings.

Agreed. I actually thought it was a joke video when I saw that clown part. It then goes on to say that "Many of the miners went down as atheists, unbelievers, or semi-believers". How has he determined that they were "all" unbelievers before going in, from that statement alone. Many could've meant 8 miners for all we know.

100% AGREE. I lost it at about the 8 minute mark, and the clown. Also, 90% of the Chilean population I believe are Roman Catholic, no?

I also know a lot of people who fear clowns, but are not Christian. I personally hate clowns.

In all honesty TheTruthIsFromGod, I didn't watch the video because 15 minutes is a long time - especially when my interest was cursory....

What has interested me are your polemic posts in response to criticism so I thought I'd take the opportunity to ask a question. Please note, this is a genuine question that I have never had the opportunity to pose to a person of your mindset in real life.

I do not believe in God, in any way, shape or form, but I am a good person and I appreciate the positive teachings of all religion. So where does that leave me?

I just got dumber by looking at this video, first thing is that the note "Estamos bien en el refugio los 33" was writen in spanish and is only 27 characters, you can translate the note in other languages and maybe english is the only language that comes with 33 characters.

The sign the miner s doing with his hand is nothing more than a normal sign of "Hi I'm cool, whats up" in their fashion over there.

it was like hell the first 17 days.........ofcourse, how would you feel if you dont have any hope of been rescue? it will feel like hell.

Yes I confirm to you that perdition is almost everywhere, that's the sign of the End Times and that should not be a big surprise, just look around you...

All you can is to save yourself by directly obeying God and his last Revelation: The Koran. Read and obey, it's as simple as that. Why are you seeking your salvation from outside yourself whereas everything is within yourself (by praying God in yourself). It's just up to you to simply obey God. What else than perdition can you expect if you put the Truth of God (= to worship God alone like a big boy/girl and to obey directly the Koran for yourself like a big boy/girl, is it so difficult?) in your back?

Being a demonoligist, I find this funny. Apollyon has better things to do than spend weeks in a mine with a bunch of mexicans to reveal the startling revelation of "33"!!! OMG!

Yes it's quite easy to deny, it's only self-evident to people that have been spoon fed this rot as truth. wow...I understand that there was a lot of strange symbolism with this whole story...but I can't help but think that you're the type of religious zealot who screams "DEMON" at everything you don't agree with, or the type of person who will lecture a group about how they are all going to hell for some reason or another...complete fear mongering with a sprinkle of religious bigotry on top

I am very surprised by this opening post. You claim to be a god-loving person and yet you are indulging in what most would consider evil.

Surely you must realise that all around the world people felt a gust of good feeling watching those miners being brought out. Irrespective of your suspicion of staged rescue, there is no need to rob people of this genuine love and overwhelming happiness that they experienced watching the rescue.

The number 33 and its relevance to the mine incident, if any, can be discussed intellectually without having to criticise people because they let a tinge of happiness run through their blood on that rescue day.

Why do I get the impression that if someone is happy and feeling good , you will come round and say how they are sinners and should repent. It seems to me that everything is sad and dark with you. You basically propagate doom , gloom and despair. The very thing that is associated with evil.

I would not hesitate to side with the demonologist who posted earlier. At least his mind is pure, in that he studies demons and beliefs in demons without actually sending hate feelings to millions of people who dare let happiness flow in their hearts the day the miners came out.
