Titus 1:2 tells us God cannot lie. From what I can gather He dictated to the prophets what to write and to veer one jot or tittle from it was prohibited. The scripture says "fruit" and God says what He means and means what He says. The word "eat" and "fruit" in the original don't mean anything else.

Another problem I would have if it were sex then what about this next verse, who did Adam do sex with? It don't mention him being gay and with Satan?

Ge 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Do you suppose God was trying to hide the truth from us of the situation or was it just a test they were to endure for a short time and was a matter of disobedience as the Word states. Eve didn't think God meant what He said or said what He meant but Adam knew better right off. But Adam partook also in abslolute disobedience.

That tree of life was not sex for perpetual continuing life by propagation and the old dying off but were removed from the garden that they could not now eat of it and have life eternal in sin.

Re 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city

Those who are found redeemed will eat of the "tree of Life" and have eternal life and it won't be sex. We Read,

Mt 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. All verses are KJV.

That is what I see.

To better understand tree of life VS Tree of Knowledge and where I got the phrase Tree of life from. Many Scholars believed the tree of life and the tree of knowledge to be the same tree. One and the same.

Death rather than ever lasting life? let's explore just what really happened in the Garden of Eden.

It was not until Adam and Eve ate of the so called fruit that they had off spring.

I don't see it as canabolism....But rather an unforgivable act of SEX for enjoyment not to multiple...Then look again the word fruit appears once more...be fruitful and multiply.

There's a whole lot going on here and I hope we can all discuss this with open minds.

Yes as some of the other posters have stated the tree was the tree of knowledge but were removed then from the garden that they could not now eat of the tree of life since they sinned, disobeyed.

Sounds like from this verse that there are two trees, "the tree of life also in the midst of the garden", so it was also there with the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Ge 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. KJV.

What does Lust mean? or to commit adultry? To lust after another or to have sexual desires for that person. To have sex with someone not your wife and not for the purpose of multiplying.

When Jesus died for our sins they hung him on a tree. There's that tree again. Tree of Life, Knowledge, To forgive us of our sin Jesus dieed on a tree. Symbolisim?

Adam and Eve were told day one they were to multiply and sex was not sin for them to do and they where told that before Eve was beguiled to be disobedient. To my understanding the first and only sex with angels was when some of the watchers did with the women of men. I don't think God would have left out of the record to us if it had of been sex with Satan the fallen head angel of the fallen angels. None of the writings of Enoch teach such to be the case. Adam named her Eve as she was to be the mother of all living. I don't think there is a plot in scripture to have us not know the truth forthrighly. I will leave my comments at this.

Let's look at this from another viewpoint.

God forbid Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of Knowledge correct? Or the tree of life be that as it may.

So we are saying God just wanted them to eat from all the trees in Eden except this one tree that would give them knowledge so they could distinct between right and wrong.

So let's forget parables and Bible codes for a moment. God wanted them both to walk around with zero knowledge. How could they even have the knowledge to know the serpent was tricking them? They couldn't. They couldnt comprehend right from wrong. They wouldn't know a apple tree from a fig tree. So God doesn't want them to have knowledge of life. And forbids them to eat from the tree of knowledge. They get tricked by the serpent because Eve had no knowledge of right and wrong so God punishes them?

Somethings just not right here.

There is far more to this story then we have been told or understand.

They already knew right from wrong. They had all the knowledge that was needed to live a long happy life as a human. The tree of knowledge was beyond human knowledge.

Tree of knowledge of good and evil, which they ate from before they knew the difference between good and evil (right/wrong) allowed them to realize that they were naked, and that God would be mad. There's some sort of circular logic going on here!

If it was beyond human knowledge then what harm could it do? It would have been beyond their grasp. (What verse says it was beyond human knowledge? I don't recall that verse.)

Sounds pretty unfair to purposefully plant a tree and then say "Don't Touch" but refrain from mentioning the harsh consequences. I never placed dangerous things in my children's reach and then announced, "Hey... look at this pretty poison in front of you. Don't try it, kiddies!" God knows all. He knew just what they would do. So why'd he plant the tree to start with?

God told them to replenish ( Strong's concordance 4390 1) to fill, be full ) this was before the eating of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

God had intended man and woman to fill the earth with people and there not be death.

Evil is not a creation of God but a devise of man's will and lust.

God gave Adam and Eve dominion (control) over the earth, When they sinned Satan gained control. Evil comes from Satan because he has dominion over the earth. God is still in control, but Satan does have some say in what happens. Yes God is omnipresent and all powerfull, but there was a covenant made with man that give him control over the earth and that was passed on to Satan. Ive heard a few differnt pastors preach that theology, sorry Don't recall scriptures to back it up, but I believe thats one of the schools of thought on the idea

Well I will believe what God intended in the OT. Which all comes from God and even Satan as an Angel has no free will. If you have time I have an article you would enjoy to read.
