Than what is the true Bible? How can you be sure what you book you follow is true or it could be fake?

I can't be sure. That is either the genius or delusion of faith, take it and me as you will.

As for the Bible, as I stated, if it's truly the Word of God then mankind will never be able to destroy or completely wipe it away from humanity, especially if Denzel Washington has anything to say about it
. If such a feat were able to be done then the bible would in fact be just another religious book.

To me and history it is another religious book.
That's truth and truth never lies.

Then to this I pose your question. How can you be so sure?

I'm sure because of all the similarities between other religions and ancient beliefs that have a lot in common with Judaism, Christianity and Islam. I can share you some links if you would like to read.

I've probably been to most of them. I've spent a great deal of my life trying to be an athiest.

Surely a regular to this site such as yourself is no stranger to the concept of disinformation or false flags, are you?

If you'll humor me, let's play Devil's Advocate...literally. For the purpose of this discussion, let's assume the Biblical account of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ are true.

As one who opposes the will of God and the hater of all He creates, how do you thwart His master plan for mankind? How do you thwart His plan for the salvation of mankind? As a celestial being of great power and intellect how would you go about opposing God's salvation of mankind? False messiahs? Anti-Christs? Attack credibility? Replace faith with doubt? Hmmm?

You see the problem with "Christ is just a copy" argument is the fact that it's not true, not really. All of those "Christ" figures in Sumerian, Egyptian, Greco-Roman etc. etc. culture who parallel in many aspects the concept of Jesus Christ, ONE factor stands out as opposite.

All of the Christ-like figures from ancient texts and religions all have one thing in common. According to myth legend or even actual events, these beings all lived for self. Self-glory, heroic exploits, sexual gratification, power and rule, death and revenge and so-on.

Christ stands apart from all of the legends. Born in an animal feeding trough to peasants, not handsome, not a political ruler, not a killer or a conqueror, performed miraculous acts then instructed the benefactors to tell no one, stood silent before King Herod and his mocking. Allowed common soldiers to urinate on him, elevated the common man, the corrupt man, the prostitute and resisted the powerful.

Satan's counterfeits are a form of the truth, but upon closer examination they reveal what they truly are, reflections of the worse parts of humanity. The One who is truth is a reflection of the Divine, love, humilty and sacrifice.

If you insist on holding onto the argument that Christ is just a copy then you are mistaken, The person that is represented as Christ in the Bible is nothing like the figures in other religions that critics claim He is a composite of. The son of Zeus strived for his own glory and desires. The son of Isis the same so and so forth. Jesus allowed Himself to suffer the worse torture and humiliation mankind has ever had to offer in all of human history.

If you want to reject the validity of Jesus, so be it, but doing so on the grounds that he is a copy or composite of other religious or mythical figures is just not accurate when one begins to thoroughly examine the details or begin to appreciate the power of creating counterfeits and disinformation.

Your heart my friend.

What does it tell you?

Does it not yearn for companionship? Does it not yearn to belong? Does it not yearn to be loved?

Such is the word of God written on all of our hearts. As you want done to you, do unto others.

With Love,

Your Brother

Listen! Jesus is a copy and nothing else. Heck Christianity and Jesus goes against what predates them in the Torah. So why should I shut that out and follow a whole different agenda? I know it's from your point of view. But I have been reading and it seems to be that your faith is yours and numerous people might follow the same figures. But they would worship them differently. Jesus to me is a complex character. No one knows anything about him. Love him or hate him or if you just don't believe in him at all people view him differently. So I just never want to be apart of a rat race based on opinion.

["dead mens quotes"~"I read the same book, and it brought me life"] DOH!

anywhoo, I have given my Testimony (the Word of God confirms it) repeatedly (you know that thing mentioned in Revelations for the reason they were persecuted and beheaded-how many Christ-ians/wives/children suffered for the Name and Word throughout history and still are?) of the voice and exactly what He said- Moses, the Apostles and many others wrote about Him -it's that simple-the discussion is not about American musclecars or music

John7.18-
He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth

1Peter1.23-
born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

I respect your perspectives and the choices you have made as a result of those perspectives and in many ways understand why you have done so. If you truly would like to know my perspective or opinions regarding these matters then I encourage you to do so in private messages as I don't want to hijack this thread any more with our conversation.

I have abandoned the days where my arrogance and self-righteousness pushed me to believe I had the power and even the right to persuade anyone to think and believe the way I do. I acknowledge that my belief in God and the Gospel of Christ may be a result of my delusions or need to belong to a belief-system of some sort and I've made my peace with the reality that it's possible that I may go to my grave as a delusional idiot.

I've given myself the permission to believe my heart, but I have tried to bring my mind, it's incessant need for logic and rationality along for the ride too.

I am such a fan of God and the genius of free-will that I marvel and appreciate every individual who exercises it in any way they....choose. I can only hope that those around me would allow me to do the same, even correcting me when my belief causes me to disrespect any of God's creation by imposing my will on theirs in any fashion.

All of creation for all of time has been waiting for us to do so, but most of us use Christ as any man uses anything in this world, for his or her own desires.

I read over and over again the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 7-9 and the Beattitudes and dream of living in such a world, and being such a person. I feel an eternity away from both in this present day, unfortunately.

noone can make a new creation but ourselves

dont you have it in you to be good on your own?

why does a book need to dictate how you live?

cant you love out of your own heart? or forgive? or help anyone cause you want to and not cause you need it for a special prized mansion in the sky with an invisible magician carpenter?
