This argument again - Oh! just more of the same...

You know why these threads keep popping up? Because cobalt was never aware of it before now, That's why.

You are informed - thats great, but understand more people are learning more things everyday, they may be way behind the curve but don't discourage them because the information is nothing new to you.

Well OK, then I'll start a campaign to post atrocities that are committed by NATO forces, just to inform them. But, I would be the bad guy right?.

Here is my original post in this thread.

I personally have considered joining the USMC for a very long time, and always I am reminded that any ideals I may have about it really helping people around the world, and that the truth is almost sinister at many times. It really is sad that a resource like the United States military is used to do the bidding of the the global elite. The guy speaking in the beginning about the 14 year old girl really %$(*ed up any dispute of conscience I may have had about what our wars in the middle east may be progressing towards. Almost makes life seem a bad dream, there really needs to be a shift in global consciousness, and fast.

sorry I think the video is total BS.
I was a soldier I know how it felt and altough we are above the civilians in war we would not do things of this nature.
We DIE because they cant or wont defend themselves.

. I guess anyone who wasnt "in it" could never know what it is like to put your life out to help people who have no hope.

these kids there are not playing xbox ..................they are playing with real guns directed by a fanatic who gives their starving family money for the kids service.

Can you imagine having to kill a 14 year old ? and the kid can probably out fight you on his own ground after all it is his home turf.

I guess the big question is do we turn a blind eye to the world ??? or do we die trying to make people with no hope see the light?

what I mean is should we try to help people we se as opresaed and people we see as victums of genocide? or should we let them suffer and die?

unfortunatly I feel we have a moral obligation to at least do something ...politacal santions only hurt the starving masses more....perhaps someone here can offer the solution

once again I dont believe anything in this video is anything more than a propaganda toll by the enemy.

Why is it that every time someone on ATS posts a video of US troops doing something terrible it means that every US troop is the scum of the Earth?

Have you all have no sense of comprehension and rationality?

This is just another hit and run propagandist thread. Whenever you point out the acts of hate perpetrated by the side they support, they run. There is no defense for the Muslim upon Muslim slaughter. The nearly hundred people who flagged this will never admit to the atrocities of the Jihad. They are only interested in propaganda and helping blind the world to what is really going on over there.

I tried posting photo's of mass graves filled with Muslims killed by other Muslims once. The photo's were gone so fast you could hear the sucking sound. I imagine the Mod's were flooded with complaints even though there was no blood and gore in them. Just the piles of bones of innocents who died because the belonged to the wrong sect or the wrong family.

Don't get me wrong. It's not ATS. Its this insane political correctness towards the Terrorists and the ongoing slaughter of innocent Muslims.

I'm opposed to Iraq myself. It was major mistake. So is letting these threads be used as propagandist tools.

/sigh

Because, I am American and from what I have seen on ATS, being American is not a good thing when it comes to topics like this.

Look, I am not a hateful person. I am not criticizing anyone's military or their country of origin. I'm tired of the people who post in THESE threads spew out hate toward the U.S. in regards to horrible acts like the ones in the video. It is almost as if they don't want to believe that the other coalition forces are doing anything bad.

I don't understand what purpose this thread was intended to do. All of the cases in the video are old and has been discussed before on ATS with the same anti-U.S. rhetoric.

I'm pretty sure there are more horrific and cruel things that have been done by the other side just to kill 1 coalition soldier. You all know what I am talking about.

Don't forget that this was and still is a coalition force in both theaters. I know you might want to say that none of the other countries have committed any horrific atrocities.

Well, since the OP obviously dislikes the U.S. and wants to smear its image with old atrocities (In which the accused have been tried and punished) to instigate hate. I will do the same to the other non-U.S. forces there as well.

Mon Feb 22, 2010:
NATO Airstrike kills 21

Tue Feb 16, 2010
Missile that killed Afghan civilians not faulty: NATO
- "A young U.S. Marine Corps officer in charge in the area where the rockets were fired was protecting a number of civilians behind his positions, Carter said."

Fri September 4, 2009
NATO airstrike kills more than 90 in Afghanistan

Needless to say, the other coalition forces there are in fact, committing horrific atrocities. All of the non-U.S. forces are perfect angels, am I right? I would not have brought these articles up if it weren't for people like you.

This post won't matter anyway.

EDIT: This post was not intended to show hatred to the other coalition forces. It was merely intended to show the OP and other people that these horrible acts go both ways and that the U.S. isn't the only force involved in the conflicts. We are all in the same boat, no need to accuse and hate each others military or country of origin.

[edit on 3-3-2010 by Clisen33]

I take it you are aware that the USA is also a member of NATO ?

It's a coalition force, as far as I'm concerned the vast majority of troops serving in the middle East are honourable service men, there are though, as is obvious, a good deal of psycho's serving, whilst these "loose cannons" are to be deplored, the fact of the matter is that the real psychos are sitting in office and laughing at the carnage they are orchestrating!

You do realize those are isolated incidents and in no way represent the truth? Don't let these propagandist tools make your life decisions for you. They don't care about anything but their own hate. You never see them speaking out against the atrocities committed by the real bad guys. In fact they defend the slaughters they commit.

Interesting.

I didn't realise that this kinda thing still went on.

You know... the entire 'my god troops are evil' versus 'they are all hero's' garbage.

Ya know what?

War is dehumanising.
Not the people forced into it.

Troops are human.
Just like you.

America reaps what she sows. To a large extent the video is propaganda and sensational. War is a bitch, we all know that. With each passing day I begin to almost comprehend why 9/11 occurred and, at times, understand its justification. Yes you read that correctly. People who are suppressed to the point of no hope will undoubtedly lash out using any method available. Just as I don't want innocent people in the US killed, nor do I want to see innocent people killed elsewhere. There can be no question that the military is not there to instill democracy, they are just performing as directed. Kissinger's quote about military people being dumb, stupid animals used as pawns in foreign policy speaks volumes.

Part of my comment is directed to those who state that a lot of the death and despair is attributed to Muslims attacking Muslims. Yes this is true and it occurs in disturbing numbers. My question is why wasn't this occurring to the extent it is now, prior to occupation? I don't doubt for a second that life under Hussein was difficult but it would appear that it wasn't difficult enough to kill your own people.

Well it's the truth. I pointed out that we aren't the only ones doing these acts, BUT because I am American it's even worse, its a fad.

SHOCKING.....

The world is a cruel place.....This scum makes me feel embarassed to be part of the same race.

I'm not perfect, but I have the compassion to understand that making others suffer is not right.

Right because anything U.S. related is a conspiracy. You claim that not everyone demonizes the U.S. just on the act that was committed, and that these people included yourself.

do you want to know why its worse because we preach so much about justice and spreading freedom but what do we do instead kill countless number of people, we are the "world police" and yet we let these things occur and sometimes are involved or indirectly involved case israel we give them billions of dollars to bomb the # out of gaza and let them kill them and then we give the palestinians how much was it 20.3 billion or million i wonder on how many levels that hypocritical

The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards.
~ William Francis Butler

Where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence.
~ Mohandas Gandhi

I cant say anything better then what these two said, not all soldiers are like the soldiers in the op's vid. If your in the millitary and you do see some smack them in the head.

Whatever we do or don't do, we will be looked down upon. Both you and I have no clue as to what is going down in the regions you talked about. So, in essence we should remove ourselves from any foreign incident, combat related or not and let the rest of the world deal with it.
