If 40 meter waves hit across the ocean and are headed your way, do you realize how big those could be when and if they hit your coast? I'd be watching your emergency services, specifically the tsunami warning centers, like a hawk if I were you. And I'd be prepping what I could, just in case. If your that close to the coast that is. You got a friend inland you can go to for a day or two? You might wanna make a call.

Problem is, I live with the old man, and regardless of what I'm trying to explain to him he is not going anywhere. I can't leave him here and he is an extremely stubborn, extremely contrary 'Nam vet who, from experience, gets set on things and won't change his mind. So here I stay.

We have some friends on a property inland we could easily go and stay with, just a matter of moving this ox.

Wow- the ENTIRE pacific basin is under a Tsunami Warning (every country touching the pacific ocean) CNN states that this is very rare. I hope no one else gets hurt by this!!

I agree and it's going up and down a lot. Suspect the U.S to be next.

They keep on saying that this earthquake is 1000 times worse than the Haiti Earthquake. How can you even quantify that? Totally mind boggling.

Get some friends or family to drag him out of there. Nobody's tough enough to stand up to a Tsunami.

No, my apartment just swayed and I felt weird. I thought it was the wind because it kicked up all of the sudden. Wasn't the wind.

I live on the port on a hill overlooking the water. For the past few hours I've been feeling a low hum through the floor, thought it was my imagination , then I found out about this Chile quake.

Then a few minutes ago I felt a wobble or something.

Erie and not cool now.

Looking outside and a Cruise ship just pulled into the harbor with lights low too. Strange night tonight.
