Here is a snapshot of the time of the quake from the Patras university seismological lab at Mediterranean and as they relayed even 2+ hours after the Chile quake the whole earth crust is ringing like a bell.
This is not good. It might destabilize many joints across continental plates.

While I was about to post this I noticed the new thread about the Japan 7.0 earthquake. I just pray that Chile might have not destabilized the Pacific plates region because if this has happened, the area is going to be having shocks and tsunamis back and forth allowing the neighboring plates to follow like a domino all over Earth.Current economy problems would seem like a walk after that. Nobody can really dictate the fate of their fellow human beings unless God allowed it.

If 40 meter waves hit across the ocean and are headed your way, do you realize how big those could be when and if they hit your coast? I'd be watching your emergency services, specifically the tsunami warning centers, like a hawk if I were you. And I'd be prepping what I could, just in case. If your that close to the coast that is. You got a friend inland you can go to for a day or two? You might wanna make a call.

there was a 7.1 earthquake about 15 miles from my parents home in oregon several years ago. they said it sounded and felt like a freight train was rolling full-speed through the middle of their bedroom.

ive only experienced small ones, slight rumbles. it is truly unimaginable...

I've experienced about 10 good shakers through my life, they usually made me giggle afterwords. Northridge made me run outside (literally) thinking I would die. Scariest thing I've ever felt. The aftershocks made us get motion sickness.

An 8.8 would cause some serious mental trauma.

well i was going to tell everybody to stop panic spreading, but that is odd, and there have been reports of 120ft tsunamis of the Archipiélago Juan Fernández Islands by others, sound like hell down there, if any of it is true, 8.8 is HUGE so as expected, 5th biggest earthquake in recorded world history, 9.5 was recorded in chile in the 1960s with 85-90ft Tsunami, but no Volcanos...

Wow that chart is off the charts! Pardon the pun. The earth is resonating. As an earthquake sensitive, I can tell you that currently I am suffering severe vertigo, stomach pain, exttreme loud ringing in my ears, and neck pain. The neck pain concerns me, I do not know what area that is indicating, but, it indicates that another area will have a quake within 2 hrs.

Speak of the Devil, I just felt something here in Los Angeles, like a light tremor. My apartment overlooks the water of the San Pedro port.

I hope to God I'm not imagining stuff. Wind is kicking up and rain is coming in out of NOWHERE.

WTH is going on?

the tsunami will lose all momentum as it gets into deeper ocean across the pacific... and then its gotta wash right over NZ before it gets to out lovely gold coast. It could help to wash all the crime away though...
