Dark please.. It kinda goes with the whole feel of the site.. Dealing with some pretty dark subjects...
Also I already have to put my specs on when on here.. I don't want to have to wear shades too

Dark meat please!!!! and a glass of red ,

its a lot easier on the eyes...esp late at night, the last thing I want whilst having a good read on ATS before bed..is to cook my eyes with glaring radiation!!

QUESTION:
If you go light, what will it look like if I highlight the text? The way it is now is very easy on my eyes, but many places, I have to highlight the text or my eyes tell me to quit reading.

Dark I am looking for a browser option to display all pages with the colors I want, white on black or black on gray. Or like you have it here. Can't find any. Go program such a browser and be rich

It's such an insincere looking little smile. If I want to smile at someone I always use this but not everything warrants a great big grin.

Don't get me wrong - I love the smilies, they're great. But could you just include one that looks like a warm smile so that the current insipid little creature need only be used when an insincere smile is required.

Rather than just changing appearance how about adding some useful Web 2.0 features such as a Tag Cloud based on user posts. You could make one for the entire site grown from the posts of all users and one for each individual user on their profile page based on everything they've posted.

It's so much easier for me to find my way around in the daylight rather than the nighttime. Even television, the ultimate techno-viewing widget, defaults to a brighter background. Our eyes are designed to accept the light, not the dark.

So I vote for the 'go light' option.

Or, just keep it as a user choice, since my choice doesn't affect you in any way.

I vote dark.

I vote for a combination. I like the dark background but also prefer the dark text. Look at the right side bar of the "light" version. To me that is the easiest on the eyes.

For the sake of my retinas, "Dark Meat" please!
