Well your response is speculation because there is no evidence to confirm or deny that the contents of the Bible are not based on fact, are of a factual nature, or based on actual events. No one can prove either way hence speculation..

----------------------------

I will say that according to biblical texts an attack on Israel would essentially trigger the end of the world. This is fundamentally why those of a Christian background would have problems with an attack on Israel. To confirm or deny the actuality of these statements, the accuracy of the texts, or the context in which it applies would be pure speculation and therefore will say nothing to that regard.

IMPB only God knows the answers to these questions...

Well yeah, but you can't deny the fact that most historical tales even myths have some factual basis.

Most atheists like to think there is no factual basis behind any of the stories in there. There are how many writers of the bible? Logic would tell you that at least some of it has to be based on fact.

So why don't we let Israel turn the other check once and follow Christ example. Oh thats right they don't follow christian ways they follow the old testament of an eye for an eye. So if we start following Israel blindly and do what they say don't we turn our backs on our own beliefs in Christ and the christian way of turn the other cheek and treat others as you want to be treated. I know theres a group there in Israel that are starting sacrafices again should we have them doing sacrafices here in order to show our subordinance to Israel and there allmighty ways.

You shouldn't be too surprised that nobody's surprised. Bachmann's a Republican. This James Dobson crap is their specialty. And Bachmann is a variety of nutball that makes even other Republicans wince.

Her proclaiming that her magical sky person will lay a magic spell of unspecified doom on America if we dare disagree with her political stances is pretty much par for the course.

Good point, The bible has tons of facts in there...such as it talks about people. its probably a fact that people did exist when the bible started forming..

Oh, and the bible mentions donkeys...would bet a pretty penny that indeed donkeys were factual.

Lets see, what else..language...they had language..thats a fact.

well there ya go...the bible must be true because some of it clearly is factual...therefore it must all be factual.

Hmm...you know, I seen Avatar about a week ago...I noticed they had people with hair...got me thinking, we have people with hair in our reality also...therefore avatar must be real...omg, I totally am going to pandora next week...need to pack some oxygen tanks.

This is quite a bit like reading one of Nostradamus quatrains aloud and saying it suits your purpose. Anyone can do it. No matter the disaster, (and by manifesting disaster you can make it appear) it will be attributed to some slight toward Israel. I get all MY bad luck from breaking mirrors.

Israel gets all her bad luck by showing supreme arrogance trying to garner sympathy while grabbing land that isn't theirs, and showing a stubborn unwillingness to help other ethnic groups as they themselves were once "helped" into their very existence.

You don't think your reply was at all unreasonable? Basically what you did there is you took what I said, twisted it to fit your argument and thought it would work?

There where a lot of ancient stories from Sumeria, Egypt, China, Japan that most people argue where probably based on actual events that where interpreted in a different way.. Just because the ancient text happens to be one you don't like, and one that says what you might call the horrid 'G' word you say that none of the events that took place inside actually happened even if not in the exact form described? I'm sure people 5000 years ago wrote that stuff down just to intentionally mislead you, and never saw anything of historical significance....

You sir must be a scholar...

Confirms what I've always suspected, that your biblical God is parasitic & pure evil. Exactly like the Israeli government.

As for Rep. Bachmann, I've come across amoebas at the bottom of test tubes that have more common sense & intelligence than this charlatan.

If she loves Israel so much, you honest Americans should chip in and buy her a one way ticket.

Another sad attempt to capitalize on a third party's spin on a statement taken out of context.

Why didn't you post what Bachman really said? Scared?

Here's the quote:

I am convinced in my heart and in my mind that if the United States fails to stand with Israel, that is the end of the United States . . . [W]e have to show that we are inextricably entwined, that as a nation we have been blessed because of our relationship with Israel, and if we reject Israel, then there is a curse that comes into play. And my husband and I are both Christians, and we believe very strongly the verse from Genesis [Genesis 12:3], we believe very strongly that nations also receive blessings as they bless Israel. It is a strong and beautiful principle.

minnesotaindependent.com...

So, are you criticizing Rep. Bachman because she's religious, or for her religious beliefs? Or do you have something against Genesis, in general?

Are you willing to do the same for your own leader's beliefs or religion?

I am consistently amazed at the crap that people post as if it were legitimate criticism or even legitimate reportage, when it is nothing more than re-worked spin and slander.

Is that all that the left has left?

If so, you and your ideology are definitely approaching the point of no return.

Deny ignorance!

The Bachmanns and Palins of this country are a rapidly dwindling minority. Unfortunately they are growing more shrill in a direct ratio to their base of support shrinking.

Watch for the issue of wearing an American AND Israeli flag pin to be a key talking point in the coming elections.

Unfortunately many of the Democrats are in the pocket of AIPAC as well. Israel will not stop until they have dragged us into WW3 in the middle east. They have already harvested the wealth of this country via Wall Street and the Banks, and now we are only useful as soldiers in their religious wars.

Hey jdub, pay attention to the thread, and who's saying what..... I posted this, and took a lot of flak for supporting Rep. Michelle Bachmann, so leave me out of this, and deal with those who have a differing opinion then me. Man, I swear, it's bad when you've got to battle with people who oppose your view's, but it's really bad when you catch hell from those on your side.....geeez!
Oh, and jdub, NO not scared....

How about you prove this alleged truth using something other than the bible.

Is that asking too much?

I'll step in at this point, if you'll excuse me mamabeth.....
brainwrek, I believe what your looking for is something along these line's...... No you prove it, no you, I said prove it first, no you prove it, no you...... Which is something most of us left back in the third grade, so grow up, no one has to prove anything, her belief is her's, and your's is your's, never the two shall meet is fine, they can still be discussed civily, but not in that context. Ok, mamabeth, the floor is your's again...Thank you

I do not see any "sides" to honest reporting.

When your thread is cast under a specific title, you are implicitly adopting it; you created it!

If you feel put upon, you should reconsider what you post.

You put the thread title in quotation marks, and there is no such quote in Bachman's words.

Show me anywhere ever Michelle Bachman said what you've quoted her as saying. YOU CAN'T.

If you can't stand behind your threads, do not post them.

Otherwise, you are disinformation personified.

I think you've weakened your argument with that quote.

If by cursed you mean free from overbearing Zionist control, then I suppose that yes, we would be cursed.

I think I will go with the curse.

Oh, and jdub, NO not scared....

So, why did you post an obvious misrepresentation, instead of the actual statement?

I do not care what anyone's ideology is, so long as they engage in legitimate debate.

Re-posting someone else's slander does not make you any less slanderous. It actually make you a co-slanderer.

So, answer my question. (Trust me on this; I am like a dog with a bone.)

Why (if you weren't scared) did you choose to post a third party statement as fact, embellished with quotes, and not the actual statements? You are unwilling or afraid to answer.

Either way, your attempt to distance yourself rings very hollow.

Deny ignorance.

Actually, no. "Blessed" is a concept that people of faith use to describe favorable acknowledgment from their supreme being.

Bachman may actually believe this.

My post was directed at criticism of people with faith or the particular tenets of their faith.

Neither of those things appears in the Constitution to disqualify someone from holding elected office. Anything else is personal.

If the OP had posted her actual statement, it would be nowhere near as sensational as to "interpret it", put it quotes, and post it as fact.

Pure deception.

If you disagree with her faith, so what?
If you disagree with specific tenets of her faith ("Genesis"), so what?

Criticism for the sake of criticism is hollow and a waste of ATS bandwidth.

kk, I've already called you on your own baseless exploitation of sentiment elsewhere. Got something substantive to say about a Christian holding elective office?

Deny ignorance.
