Answer: Ultimately, oil. Everything we directly do in the Middle East is, in some way, traceable to that black liquid lifeblood of American life and prosperity over the past century. Even to the point that the US support of Israel during the Yom Kippur War and the subsequent embargo of oil by OPEC... it was carefully orchestrated to provide an excuse for oil to manage to inflate dramatically following Nixon's decision to withdraw the US from the Bretton Woods agreement.

We may be fighting an enemy which publicly points at our association with Israel as the reason they hate us in the Middle East, but in truth that is a convenient target and nothing else. The reality of the situation is that the US has allied itself with the highest profile non-oil exporting nation in the region out of convenience. If we had a similar relationship with the Saudis (and make no mistake, the US has a very close behind-closed-doors raltionship with the House of Saud), our politicians would face unbelievable pressure everytime there was a jump in oil prices to the next benchmark floor.

I do not believe our alliance with Israel is based on any religious beliefs or anything other than providing an excuse for hostilities in both directions (both by the US and against the US) at the highest levels of our government. However, the alliance is traditionally accepted by the American people on a moral and religious level and that has served the government well (however it can definitely be argued that it hasn't been much of a service to her people.)

As I said before, groups like AQ latch on to this same marriage of convenience and use it as an excuse to carry out attacks against America. Seeing as how history has demonstrated that these same Islamic extremist groups will fight against each other in a vaccuum devoid of outside enemies, I do not believe that our alliance with Israel serves as anything other than a paper tiger to attack us over. Take away the alliance and they'd come up with some other excuse to carry out their attacks against America.

Wow, that's a mouthful.

What frightens me more is that a whole bunch of people allegedly elected her.

Or was that Huckabuck? Yes...Hucklebee wanted to 'round them up'. Buchanan just wanted to make sure that we all know what God said about a manufactured plague (whatever kills ya).

Well....the Bee has a nice gig at FOX, and Buchanan must have caved to jew pressure, because he no longer refers to Capitol Hill as 'israeli occupied territory', does he? He too lives at FOX, practically. I guess Buchanan's little jewish observations are passable, so long as we keep killing millions of israel's foes.

Israel wouldnt exist without the U.S., and the sad fact of the matter is that Israel has their hand straight up the collective asses of the puppet known as the United States Government.

Any and all forms of aid to Israel must cease immediately, and those who support and act on behalf of Israel in an official U.S. government capacity must be charged with treason and sentenced accordingly upon conviction.

Blech, this is probably one of the most evil and ultimately self-defeating concepts I've ever heard. I really don't think this is the time to discuss it, but rest assured that loving someone who raped you, killed your friends or family, subjected people to slavery and torture, to name only some of the things we are supposed to love, is nothing short of insane and in total contrast to what a normal person should be doing.

How does the mutual feeling towards all people lend itself towards a loving loyalty to Israel (seemingly to the exclusion of the afore mentioned muslims)?

Does it? Why would we incur "God's wrath" should we decide to stop funding Israel and to treat every nation equally?

Is it how we always behave, no, of course not, for we are human, and sinner's from birth, as we believe all are, but, this would be the perfect model for us, if we were able to achieve it.

Having been condemned to a life of sin before we can speak the word is really a disgusting concept. I would prefer to cut the tongue out of the person who was stupid enough to say my 4 year old daughter is a dastardly sinner and should be sent to hell if not treated to some archaic religious ceremony.

Symbiotic entails that they benefit the US as well. Aside from information and a fair portion of our weapons aid back, how does supporting them help the US?

How? Would Canada and Mexico become enraged, enact the draft, invade, or perhaps drop huge bombs on us?
