You are right, but I thought I would highlight the US since most in the thread apparently see the US as spearheading the tough stance against Iran. If I remember correcting EU nations, such as, France, Germany, and Great Britain have supported the recent call for sanctions as well? Let me do a little digging as well to find some verification of that side of the situation as well. Good point, though!

China and Iran are as impotent as a 90 year old man who has not taken his Viagra in a month. I pray China declares war on us it would wipe our debt away with them and we basically have them surrounded and they have little if no navy. They are screwed and they know it, I don't think there population would even fight it is so divided.

And for all you China is a great super power please look at the numbers and you will see the truth China is screwed and so is Iran for that matter WW3 is just around the corner and it will shape our future Europe and the US will gain an advantage that will last 100 years after this one.

China to overtake the United States to become the leading producer of manufactured goods in the next five to seven years.

Also, didn't Obama clearly state that in the 21st century. America must remain its number 1 status in the world, when he gave the state of the union address.

Another note...he said he will double America's exports within 5years.

It all hurts china's business(Also currency) and china feels threaten and will not want to give up its new found power so easily to the U.S.

China is full aware of U.S. intentions and U.S. is fully aware if we can't contain China within this decade. American power be lost for good, there will be no way to stop them.

U.S. really has no beef with Iran(or Westerns really, its just a proxy for us to throw a huge wrench into China's economy.

Of course as I stated...China is aware of the situation with Iran...Why you think they are desperately acting more aggressively these days and blocking any sanctions at all cost.

well thats my 2cents at least

Well, apparently, the EU is behind sanctions to a greater degree as is the US. Here is the most recent article I was able to find at the moment. Yes, the EU is on board as you have said.

"European foreign ministers are scheduled to meet in Brussels Jan. 25-26 to consider additional sanctions against Iran for its continued defiance of nuclear negotiations."

Said the European Union's new British foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, "If we don't have the rules kept to, then we have to take action in some form ... Sanctions are something that will come up in the discussions."

Since 2003, negotiations over Iran's nuclear program have dominated diplomatic relations between the European Union (EU) and Iran.
Background on EU-Iran relations

Although the EU is Iran's largest trading partner, at this time all conventional political and economic talks between Iran and the EU are frozen due to Iran's intransigence over its nuclear weapons program.

. . .Spain took over the EU's 6-month rotating presidency from Sweden on the 1st of Jan. Under Spain's helm the EU will have a more united and solid voice on the international scene, according to Diego Lopez Garrido, Spanish secretary of state for EU affairs.[7] Spain has in the past supported all EU resolutions condemning Iran but has not gone as far as France and the UK in its willingness to impose sanctions, opting instead for diplomatic engagement.

Here's another interesting article for you all

China set forth plans to rival U.S. aerospace industry
This will give them the means to make highly advanced aircraft fighters. I say give it 15-20years..heck it can be even less, and their air force can probably rival ours

Wow check out this amazing thing from the Times
U.S. Cyberwar Strategy: The Pentagon Plans to Attack

I know this probably deserves its own thread but...U.S. isn't as weak the enemy think it is in cyberwarfare

Start a war with China, which has the same Nuclear Capability as we do, there will be Nuclear Winter. There is no doubt about it. Our missile systems can't shoot every Nuclear Missile that comes our way so we are sure to be hit.

This happens, you can bet your sweet butt, everybody at the age of 17 maybe, will be drafted

But before you play the blame game. Is it Iran that we should blame? Or is it the people that created the Atom Bomb, and others that are now testing bigger and better WMD's?

I mean, you can't have a threat from Iran unless WMD's didn't make its way into the picture.

Ok, my marshmallows are literally waiting in the pantry for the World War 3 we will be so fortunate to experience.

Just think of the ratings on ATS. Everyone would post constantly. I would not eat or drink beer, I would just ATS all day.

Just think of the excitement, strangers would talk to strangers again, and we would all conspire to rid our neighborhoods of the enemy.

We would have a purpose, we would have something to do.

WWIII I salute you.

Yes, I think so; power plays are used all the time, for persuasive means.

You are correct; wars have begun over smaller issues, but not this time.
This will not become a Cuban Missile Crisis!

As I stated before in my earlier comment, this is my opinion!

So much for their "Before it's News" Claim.

The Story broke last Thursday. They are just spinning it and leaving out many other details. Here is a report from last Friday about the "Warning"

Hillary Clinton warns China to stay the course on Iran nuclear sanctions

The admonishment from Clinton came on the same day the Pentagon announced more than $6 billion in arms sales to Taiwan, a move certain to infuriate Beijing and add a new complication to the U.S.-Chinese relationship.

Clinton, speaking at a leading French military academy in Paris, said that China and five other leading nations have been united to date in trying to dissuade Iran to halt uranium enrichment that they fear is aimed at acquiring nuclear weaponry know-how.

But now that China is balking at joining the others in a new round of United Nations sanctions, Clinton said, "China will be under a lot of pressure to recognize the destabilizing impact that a nuclear-armed Iran would have in the [Persian] Gulf, from which they receive a significant percentage of their own supplies."

She told an audience of military experts and officers at the Ecole Militaire that "we understand that right now it seems counterproductive to you to sanction a country from which you get so much of the natural resources your growing economy needs."

There's another saying that 'you shouldn't put your hand in the same hole USSR did, a snake lives there', They are stuck in Afghanistan that is why they can't go anywhere.
