So now you are going to put me down? You have serious issues guy. You are the most negative person I have seen on ATS so far. Does it make you feel elevated when you put down other people? It must, otherwise you would not do it. But you need to do it because deep down you know you are really not all that intelligent and by putting others down it makes you feel better about yourself in some sick way.

It was posted by stanislav , TARBOX was just replying to it.
I guess I'm going to bed also..............

How on earth do you know what kind of camera he is using?

Seriously...What are your credentials in the video editing field?

Come on...You can't possibly know this.

Honestly I don't want to get into arguments here because it will only make it worse. I dont want the mods to think like I came here to troll around. All I was pointing out how you were wrong. Since you were becoming agitated towards me I decided to point out that you are no better then anyone else here and that I too have the right to make make take on things. Also LEARN HOW TO TAKE CRITICISM! I think we should stop arguing here and concentrate on the subject at hand.

I don't think so. Time magazine has an article on it already.

I said nothing about the guys camera so how does that make me wrong? When Chris turned away from the camera his voice faded, indicating the use of an on board(built in) microphone. Most of what I said was to complement Chris, and to say that making a good video is not as easy as most people think it is. I can handle criticism. But not when it's from a punk on a fault finding mission that has negative energy in every single post on here.

I looked over my post and I see nothing that indicates that I think I am better than anyone else on here. I simply stated a fact. I'm a prefessional.
Suck it up.

LOL I hope you aren't going to accuse me to be possessed by the devil. I am not a negative person at all. You simply don't know who I am. Anyone who knows me will tell you how loving I can be but I am also very blunt and honest. I will say things as I see them but some people just can't take it when someone is criticizing them or pointing out their mistakes.

The fact that you did not realize this video was made at least 2 month ago makes me wonder your professional credentials. There are many people who call themselves professionals, in fact too many. But if I were to ask 50 professionals what microphone or camcorder this Chris guy was using I would get different takes on it without a doubt. Even professional scientists argue amongst themselves about things like universe vs multiverse and each takes his shot. Professional means nothing to me. I think it comes down to experience and other things. I realized that in this lifetime you must be your own judge and rely less on so called professionals to tell you how to live your life and what reality is.

Bronco73 posted a link from Time.com that says what I was talking about, in part:

The 1991 explosion of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines was the largest eruption in recent memory, and its effects on the atmosphere are still being measured. The 1883 eruption of Indonesia's Krakatoa led to a global cooling and the deadly winter of 1886-87 that wiped out the short-lived open-range cattle bonanza of Montana Territory. In 2000, Ken Wohletz, a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, postulated that an even bigger Krakatoa eruption in 6th century A.D. may have sent a tall plume of vaporized seawater into the atmosphere, causing the formation of stratospheric ice clouds with superfine hydrovolcanic ash, which literally cast a pall over much of the world at the beginning of what became known as the Dark Ages.
(emphasis by me)

We have one advantage over the people of the past... we have the knowledge and means to store energy and release it as usable light at a later date. We also have much better means of insulation than before, as well as being global travelers, and aware globally, most people of today are much more prepared for catastrophe and disasters of this magnitude. I think more of us would survive than in the past... although, I do admit that we would see alot more of a percentage of people earn their Darwin Awards (die from sheer stupidity). Ya gotta admit, although we have better tools than our ancestors, it sometimes seems that common sense is what was replaced to make the balance.

Great. I will take your word for it. It's best to present facts and let people draw there own conclusions. When you do give an opinion, try to do it in a nice way. I mean, you really had no need to tear the s__t out of this guy.

Anyway, let's move on. Iron sharpens Iron...right?

to stanlee:

Please do not post inflammatory remarks about Wyoming and it's residents -- you are being off-topic and hostile in your remarks.

Every rude comment you made is untrue. Wyoming has one of the lowest crime rates and has many intelligent, highly qualified professionals who are residents of this great state. It would be terrible if we had a national disaster that could harm our citizens in Wyoming and the U.S. Let us pray that this will not happen -- at least not in this millenium.

I sent an email to Chris Sanders (below) and received a response--not very impressive....

Chris,

Ran across your statement on the internet and it is causing quite a discussion…..

“I am advising all State officials around Yellowstone National Park for a potential State of Emergency. In the last week over 300 earthquakes have been observed by the USGS. We have a 3D view on the movement of magma rising underground. We have all of the pre warning signs of a major eruption from a super volcano. - I want everyone to leave Yellowstone National Park and for 200 miles around the volcano caldera.”

A few questions—I am not implying any disrespect, but they are important questions.

Do you realize that what you are stating could incite riots and total chaos? Are you certain about this?

What are your credentials in the area of geology?

Why do you think that no other geologists are also providing a similar warning?

Thanks,

Dave

Time has a good article on what's going on, putting it in a Historical perspective

www.time.com...

Could the current activity be the warning signs of another such apocalypse? Or just a large but not world-ending earthquake, like the 7.5-magnitude temblor that happened on a summer night in 1959 and caused a mountain to slide down into a campground, killing 28 people and damming the Madison River? Last week, geologists at the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory (YVO) announced they had recorded a "notable swarm of earthquakes under way since Dec. 26 beneath Yellowstone Lake." The strongest tremor among the hundreds in the past week measured 3.9 on Dec. 27; most of the readings above 2.8 were felt by park employees and visitors around the lake area.

The activity relaxed in magnitude early this week but then flexed upward again to top 3.0 by early New Year's Eve. "This December 2008 earthquake sequence is the most intense in this area for some years," YVO reported, "and is centered on the east side of the Yellowstone Caldera," the ancient collapsed volcano beneath Yellowstone Lake. The scientists said they cannot immediately "identify any causative fault or other feature without further analysis." (See a gallery of recent volcanic eruptions.) This activity could have a whole range of consequences. In a study released last year, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said possible hazards could include hydrothermal explosions, when steam breaks through the surface and forms a crater. That has happened 26 times in the park's 127 years of record-keeping. The USGS discounted chances for cataclysmic eruption of the caldera, noting that the hot, active magma chamber below Yellowstone has turned into "largely crystallized mush."

Compared to the 7.5 that happened in 1959, this is nothing.

Dont go golfing during a thunderstorm or fishing dont hold any metal objects while a thunderstorm is active stay indoors. You could get struck by lightning.

Stay away from the banks of a river flooding you might get washed away and dont camp in a stream bed a flash flood might drown you .

Oh god I am a hoaxter I dont have a degree in meteorology nor in hydrology so I cant voice my advice and options.

And if you do all those things and get away with it I ma a Hoaxer ? Makes alot a sense to me

Because some one gives their advice or their option of a warning without a degree it is a hoax .

Is Christopher C. Sanders is a hoax ? Or was he giving his advice and option .

I listened to the utube I never heard him say by x date shes gona blow. Just it should be taken under advisement to clear out and for the powers that be declare a warning . I took it his advice

If we at ATS can entertain 200 pages of GFL bloosomn goodblood and web bots this or that we can entertain a persons option and advice .

Most of ATS pages buck the status quo . If you dis agree fine 10 statements we get the picture . He is stating a real possibility that Yellowstone could erupt again it is his option .

If his back ground is in oil and gas they have a better understanding of geology than 90 % of the population .

Back to topic Dads old Girlfriend worked for USGS and hated being transferred to Yellowstone and declined a promotion so she didnt go there . Mainly because she said it is not like any other volcanic area you really dont know what she is going to do. She felt it was too instable to live within 50 miles of it .

Check out the University of Utah Seismograph stats of the amount of earthquakes happening recently in Yellowstone Park:

Does anybody know if this is normal activity or is this an upcoming problem?

I hope your ready for this:

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — More earthquakes are rattling Yellowstone National Park. The small quakes include three more Friday that measured stronger than magnitude 3.0. The University of Utah Seismic Stations say the strongest was 3.5. Several hundred quakes centered under the northern end of Yellowstone Lake have now occurred since Dec. 26. No damage has been reported. Earthquake swarms happen fairly often in Yellowstone. But scientists say it's unusual for so many earthquakes to happen over several days. Yellowstone lies mostly in northwestern Wyoming and is the caldera of a volcano that last erupted 70,000 years ago. Scientists have not concluded what is causing the earthquakes.

YELLOWSTONE VOLCANO OBSERVATORY INFORMATION RELEASE
Friday, January 2, 2009 19:30 MST (Saturday, January 3, 2009 02:30 UTC)

YELLOWSTONE VOLCANO (CAVW#1205-01-)
44.43°N 110.67°W, Summit Elevation 9203 ft (2805 m)
Volcano Alert Level: NORMAL
Aviation Color Code: GREEN

Yellowstone Lake Earthquake Swarm Update: 2 January 2008

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports that as of 1800 MST on 2 January 2009, seismicity of the ongoing Yellowstone earthquake swarm continues. Over 500 earthquakes, as large as M 3.9, have been recorded by an automated earthquake system since the inception of this unusual earthquake sequence that began Dec. 27, 2008. More than 300 of these events have been reviewed and evaluated by seismic analysts. Depths of the earthquakes range from ~ 1km to around 10 km. We note that the earthquakes extend northward from central Yellowstone Lake for ~10 km toward the Fishing Bridge area, with a migration of recent earthquakes toward the north. Some of the dozen M3+ earthquakes were felt in the Lake, Grant Village and Old Faithful areas. Personnel of the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory continue to evaluate this earthquake sequence and will provide information to the NPS, USGS and the public as it evolves.

This earthquake sequence is the most intense in this area for some years. No damage has been reported within Yellowstone National Park, nor would any be expected from earthquakes of this size. The swarm is in a region of historical earthquake activity and is close to areas of Yellowstone famous hydrothermal activity. Similar earthquake swarms have occurred in the past in Yellowstone without triggering steam explosions or volcanic activity. Nevertheless, there is some potential for hydrothermal explosions and earthquakes may continue or increase in magnitude. There is a much lower potential for related volcanic activity.

I hope those hamsters are well fed in those heads of yours. Cuz you all have some thinking to do about whats going.
