Come on, you want us to believe that those are HARMONICS ? Looks like maybe some high pitched wind, or maybe someone is playing bagpipes in Yellowstone tonight !

How long is it going to take for some real people to step up from USGS and give us a little more information.

I guess when they say scientists and alike agreed that the yellowstone docudrama years ago was very factual and of some resemblence of what would really happen. Well, I don't remember anyone in that movie doing the right thing and teling anybody anything important until it was too late.

I know, I am fed up with the crap from USGS.

I am still waiting in the last two hours for some type of WIND theory from the less educated people in the thread.

Aren't those seismic waves from the last big indonesian earthquake?
I think this matter has already been discussed some pages ago.
Links to older webicorder charts from days when big earthquakes occurred elsewhere in the world having similar waves have been posted too.

Call me crazy but i seriously believe in the "6th sense" of the animals. As long as i see bison walking around and relaxing in that live feed i think we are ok.

Another person's take on harmonic tremor under Old Faithful:

www.godlikeproductions.com...

(I hope I got this right. I signed up very late (and very sober; just tired) New Years Eve. and I'm not sure I remember my username.) I have followed Yellowstone for years, as I live in the shadow of the thing (in the blast path actually). I have also had some experience reading seismograms. The Yellowstone webicorders have shown the center of activity around the Lake corder; it's interesting that this (possibly) harmonic tremor was strongest under Old Faithful. This could be steam pushing through the ground rather than magma, and we could be looking at a considerable hydrothermic explosion. On the other hand, rising magma could be the source of the heat to make the steam. If nothing else, it ought to be an interesting ride. And may I recommend the book, "Yellowstone Farewell" by Wayne M. Sutherland.

Uh, no.

If they are genius, why not on any other recorders in the park.

It is amazing to me how many people will take the time crap out of their mouths, but not take the time to look at the facts. As if the situation wasn't confusing enough becuase of the lack of info from USGS and the gov.

The I would advise you to watch very carefully and see if those Bison are actually moving at all

Last time I saw bison in a webcam shot - it was a static picture, not a live feed

redundant but helpful; you can pick your poison here.
the center drop down menu gives the Yellowstone locations that I got my info from. all the areas of interest in the surrounding areas.

It looks like a ripple effect in the graph, It may be reacting to the larger earthquake in the other side of the planet.

I assume that it would be the same size on all of the stations if that were the case.

Take a look at RSOE Alerts.

Lot's of quakes in Alaska and major one elsewhere in the world. This is not normal activity.

Quite a few blue and orange quake icons

I think its safe to say that these readings of "harmonic tremors" are not yellowstone related.

Ive checked out other U of U site, and many have the same tremors more then 100 km away.

Examples

www.quake.utah.edu...
www.quake.utah.edu...

some of them are many 100's of Km away from yellow stone, some with larger amplitudes then yellowstonefalls.

All the stations world wide or just Yellowstone? not all the ground area may be of the same make up ie: clay or granite or sand stone. wouldn't it react differently?

How unusual is today's global volcanic and Seismic activity? I see many large quakes and dozens of active volcanoes. Is this just another day at the global office?

hisz.rsoe.hu...

Reason I ask is because I'm at least considering that there may be some credence to the connection between the solar activity, proximity to the sun and planet alignments described in this thread. Seeing what this appears to be doing makes me pay attention to the 2012 scenarios which stem from the fact that the Earth will pass through the plane of the Milky Way just as Jupiter and Saturn, the largest planets, are aligned opposite the sun. This will create absolutely extreme conditions compared to this week. If this kind of activity does in fact relate, it's noteworthy anyway.

Possibly, but the difference seems so great that I'm guessing whatever is happening is close to the old faithful area. I could be wrong, though.
