Speaking of the Firefox add on called equake...does it rumble over the speakers? I have only seen it shake my screen one time since installing it yesterday, but no sound or continuing theme until acknowledge is kind of lame.

Wonder if that huge 7.6 which is much bigger than anything of late could cause a Tsunami? was it in the ocean?

Take the rsoe edis map put it in mind around the globe take the other side against the 3 7.x 's and see where it is.
Around that place find a weak spot ,expect it there... in the next 2 days.

I think the last big quake there, that I can remember was between the last two full super moons, which was 2 full moons within 28 days of each other, if I remember correctly. I know this year, some were expecting eq activity, which would be the first time it's occured since the tsunami incident, between Nov and Dec full moons. Nothing of significance happened that I am aware of.

I have been there. Something else you would have learned if you had read the entire thread, instead of just coming into it at the end. Most of the links you have posted mean nothing. Not once have you shown us graphs that shown anything like we have been seeing for the past few days. Sure you have shown us smaller examples of the "noise" that we are talking about, but NOTHING to the same scale as we are seeing. Wind is a VERY common occurance at the Park, hell Wyoming is one of the windiest states in the union, but the wind is almost a daily event. The past few days have been NOTHING typical. I would love to beleive that this is just a wind event too, but it is impossible for me to conclude that. Maybe you "opinions" would carry more weight if you didn't come across as a condescending ass. This has been an incredibly long, yet wonderfully cooperative thread. At least until you showed up. Try toning down your rhetoric a little bit and don't treat everyone here like they are idiots, it just makes you look like one.

And Bozeman Pass in Montana showed the EXACT SAME TIMEFRAME of 'harmonic' without showing the 2.0 and 3.0 quakes dude. Those are not long period quakes. Is Bozeman Pass going to blow up too?

Perhaps you misunderstand, but I'm disputing the wind garbage -- not the swarm itself. Wind is not equal to long period quakes. Wind picks up, the long period ones pick up on seismos outside of Yellowstone too, yet these are not wind? Come on man, lets look at better data.

And to answer your previous wind question, it's picking up and is now at 17mph, like clockwork.

Long Valley and the Cascades show the same type of garbage in the wind. Do you realize that seismographs can pick up ANYTHING, including ice breakage? Electrical pulses? (Go see Rainer for Good examples), and even lightning Bolts? It also depends just how sensitive the darn thing is turned up. And yes, some seismos go into super sensitive mode when other quakes smaller quakes hit. The quakes are real, but the noise is not.

Those sharp cracks on the Lake Yellowstone one could quite possibly be the lake ice itself cracking -- not ground movement.

Even, and i use this loosely, even IF, those are long period quakes they can be related to water table movement. Quakes DO and have been well documented to causing boiling at depth, which in turn causes ground movement. Superheated water flashing to steam can cause quite a bit of movement. Not EVERYTHING there is related to magma.

Instead of assuming all of that is long period harmonic quakes, wheres the H3E data showing fresh magma intrusion? Gas output has been normal. There's no new infusion of magma, and the quakes themselves are a normal fault slipping motion.

For non corrupted data, the best two we have right now are Old Faithful and Upper Falls. I suggest you use them so you DON'T miss out on important data.

Honestly guys and gals in my humble opinion it's all a hype. People just wanting to see doom and gloom. If there was anything catastrophic going to happen at Yellowstone the park would be closed to visitors by now. So I think once this happens we should be wary but until then live your life to the fullest.

CNN just mentioned it and said there was no Tsunami warning at this time.

IN regards to the Indonesia quakes - for those of you on the West Coast -
You can get Tsunami warnings in your email - on phones - etc -
Please look into this.

GOOD NEWS

Live Camera at time of this posting is zoomed in on some Bison grazing [in the middle of the steam-zone near Old Faithful]

At least they aren't running.

Are they usually in the middle of such a hazard zone?

After I start running it I click on help and then connections they usually show all green.

Normally it kicks in but just minimize it until it kicks in as that seems to work also

Wasnt the last indonesian quake related to yellowstone in some way.

No. They're not even on the same plate....

**

The stuff going in in Yellowstone is interesting indeed. I personally don't think a EL-world ending type of eruption is imminent, but that certainly doesn't rule out other volcanic activities including lower level eruptions. And of course since swarms happen here all the time, this could all be nothing.

not harmonic at GEE.
In about the middle from this thread there are some links to real harmonics.

In all fairness -

1. This thread is and has been about gathering information.
2. Experts are not always right.
3. No one wants to see their lives destroyed
4. Part of living life to its fullest is being aware and responsible - so that you can yourself make decisions based on your findings.
5. Sometimes the most unlikely people turn out to be the best leaders. We have some here on this thread.

Now they are saying it was a 7.8 which is HUGE. Could cause trouble depending on which way the earth moved.
