Here is the LKWY graph from the day of the Tsunami quake in 2004:

Dec. 25, 2004 - LKWY

Could be feedback from the Indonesian quake

Well Not Authorized, I am not entirely sure about that. The wave pattern is showing up in some graphs and others not at all. If it was an echo or shadow, I would think all the graph would show it at the same or close to the same time in some way. Not saying it couldnt be but since all the activity recently, I am thinking its local activity. We'll see what happens.

No problem but don't get me wrong I can easily be wrong and those just the effects of an earthquake overseas.

mmh
the activity appears to be decreasing.

I am almost positive this is from the 7.6 in Indonesia. We can go back and check the LKWY graphs from days where there was a similar sized quake in Indonesia. I posted the graph from the big one that caused the tsunami and it looks like what we are seeing. I am sure that is it. Neat looking though.

Excellent !

Right now it seems like we're just witnessing the aftershock of that 7.8 EQ.

Brilliant -
Yes - remember the old song - The thigh bones connected to the hip bone?

I'm assuming the patterns are related to the 7.8 earthquake... Interestingly, I was watching the Seismograph at Old Faithful while watching the live camera. As the waves were going nuts the steam was the thickest I've seen by far, for the entire duration. The activity is still very heavy. Related?

we are keeping it on topic - these quakes started at the same time the strange waves started and 7.8 you don't see every day -

the quake that broke the Bay Bridge in San Francisco was a 7.8

there have been many quakes in the world during all of this that no one has mentioned - but I think it is wise to have these recorded in the thread.

(it's not all that far away - it just looks it cuz the map doesnt curve around back to us)

and remember the indonesian tsunami quake spread ripples to hawaii -

nope there was an increas of activities before that eq in indonesia.... and it appears coming from FLWY Teton region...

They are.

Here's the webicorder from Crater Lake Oregon

www.pnsn.org...

You can easily read this one too.
The P-Wave from the shock started right before the 20:10 line (the squiggles). It transitioned to S-Wave a couple lines down (wave).

Pretty cool eh?

Seems to be calming down.I guess it must be picking up the quake from indonesia.

Not purposely drifting off topic here, but I did build such a setup for a weather camera mounted on top of a 20 story building for a tv station's weather casts.

How much did it cost? I'd be willing to toss in some $$ to get a good clear picture..

About 40 bucks in parts and just time to put together a duplicate mechanisim just like a car windshield wiper system, except alot smaller, a submersable pump like that found in the windshield washer resivour tank and a funnel with a fine mesh screen for a filter to keep large debris out of the funnel that collected the rain water. It was quite simple to make. Ran off a 120vac to 12v power supply I custom built for it and had a dew sensor that would automatically activate the wiper when needed and a photo-optical sensor that would also activate the wiper when dirt accumilated on the window.

Anyway back to topic. I have not been able to get my GEE to see any data for the last couple of hours, are the siesmic units getting overloaded? Whats the latest readings?

Cheers!!!!

wow - great find (how do you find these older graphs?)

well that was fun - I think we're getting good at noticing different patterns heh

Wouldnt shockwaves take longer time to reach the other side of the globe ? Its not moving at the speed of light ..

I have no idea, just asking.

What about intentional "pinging" by others? Any thoughts?

IF it is JUST an echo of the 7.8 then why does it show on some seismographs but not all? This is a question, not a challenge. I'm just trying to figure this out.

HEY - did we have quite a bit of warning ? can someone check back on GEE?

Here is the page for the calendar with all the parks graphs going back several years, it was posted on this thread at one point:

Archived graphs for Yellowstone sensors

You can look at any of the stations for years.

Here is a graph for LKWY for a 7.2 in Indonesia on 2-25-2008:
