this thread is boarderline offensive and its pathetic. I am a conservative I disagree with some of what Obama represents but I will not tolerate this filth.

I just saw the man on 60 minutes. He's brilliant and he is an AMERICAN.

I just watched that interview as well and he was incredibly thoughtful and measured... he will make mistakes that is certain but I am sure of one thing he will have thought them out ahead of time... something the current occupant never did that's for sure.

It will be a pleasure to have an intelligent occupant in at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. again.

Try again, my friend. You are quoting current law. As I said in the post to which you replied, that law was enacted in 1986 and the courts decided it was not retroactive to births before 1986.

Yes, but now I believe you may be deliberately missing the point. It has been noted throughout this thread and others that the question is what it means to be naturalized or naturally born. This is ridiculous.

I thought the topic was going pretty well but it is now degenerating quickly.

I'm not so sure I understand your question. Are you asking me if the 14th amendment still stood?? Of course it did. That's not what we're talking about though. We're talking about what the situation would be if it was proven Obama was born in Kenya. I don't think anybody is arguing that he wouldn't be a citizen if he's born in Hawai...or at least I'm certainly not arguing that point. If you're asking if there were laws pre 1986 then refer to my earlier post in this thread...about 4 posts ago...and follow that link. It will explain everything in more detail than you probably want to read.

I can't believe the supporters are simply accepting his word and a copy of a birth certificate as PROOF that he is a natural born citizen.

Does it occur to you people that birth certificates are frequently obtained illegally? Many people with far less connections that Barack Obama have been able to get them.

What is most striking to me is that the rest of the paper trail from his days growing up show that he was a legal citizen of Indonesia.

What i meant was,the part i quoted,did that stand or was it changed between the ratifying of it and 1986.

And thank you,I'll look for the post you mean.

If he was born in Kenya he would hold a British national passport and an American one right up until his 23rd birthday.If at that time he had not swore allegiance to Kenya then his citizenship would be automatically revoked.

possibly true, but only if McCain "vaulted" his BC.. And I do not believe he did. also a bit of different circumstances..

And I am not against Obama being POTUS, He was Friggin elected, he has the Job. And I hope and pray that he is eligible for it..All he has to do is show his BC.. Hell, I've had to do it myself several times for my job!!!

Let 1,000 lawsuits occur. Let this dog Obama through his entire presidency. By all means after 1/9/09 when the election results are affirmed by Congress let them keep screaming.

Because as long as you keep investigating dead or meaningless issues you aren't looking at what's really going on.

That is because all presidents or nominees before Obama at the very least
understood that you MUST be a CITIZEN of the U.S. in order to be eligible
to hold the office of President. Obviously they had no reason to prove
the validity of their birth place because presenting one's certificate of birth came with the job! In other words common sense!

The only difference I see with Obama is he either lacks common sense or he is a "clown"! Who in their right mind would let the issue of birthplace get this far with no repudiation?

Is Obama not capable of a little humility? Seems to me the world loves when a person in power humbles himself!! Why not take this opportunity
to score a few more points, maybe with the crowd that has their doubts about him?

BH, your argument that he is holding out for principle IF true is proof of Obama's immaturity and he has no business even voting, let alone holding the highest office in the land this is no time for childish schoolyard antics!

Obama needs to grow up and turn his cert. of birth over!!

Wether you are for or against Obama, the main point of this thread is is he actually eligible to hold the office or not.. and it would not take much to prove he is. and it would not even have to be made public..

So Why all the fighting to not show a simple piece of paper? ...

Has there ever been a previous candidate/president elect who has refused to provide proof of citizenship before now?

Has the question ever had to be asked before?

Why now?

Must be a reason....right?

Sure would be easy to just show the proof and be done with it.

But this is the American way...never do the simple...make it complicated and complex enough to divert attention away from the simple. Makes it more elaborate, more glamour, more glitter, more nonsense!

Oh well....it is the American way!!

And as i have stated before i am not an Obama supporter nor do I agree with his policies. But he did win the election.. so therefore He is my president elect, whether I like it or not, (I don't) But I will give the man a chance, and as my President I will do my best to give him my (grudging) support..

Best I can do.. and it does beat the alternative...(Ie that he would not be eligible to be POTUS)

If Obama really lacks citizenship, I think it's safe to assume that the government had a hand in covering it up. It would take that level of power to conceal this story if it held any truth to it. Though perhaps, and this is a very, very long shot, some of you are correct in assuming that this was part of the plan from the get-go. If Obama is not a U.S. citizen, this is the only reasonable (and it's absurd) explanation as to why we are only discovering the truth AFTER he has been selected by the U.S. public.

I find it difficult to believe that Obama really lacks U.S. citizenship but successfully concealed it throughout the duration of his run, as many are arguing. He may have been the golden child of many elites, but there are just as many salivating at the thought of bringing him down. Don't you think some of them would have succeeded if there was any evidence to find? But for the record, I do find it suspicious that Obama hasn't simply released his birth records and closed the book on this rumor. While it might not satisfy the hardline conservatives who are out to destroy him, it would appease the worries of his supporters as well as moderates.

Only time will tell. If the accusations prove true, all hell is bound to break loose.

Man I feel like the majority of posters on this thread are giving a law class out for free to trolls who put their ignorance back in their face as payment. Look you guys clearly do not know law and are arguing for the sake of arguing alone. Several people have come to this thread and stated your ignorance on prior threads.

Im going to wrap up because its not worth one calorie of my brain power to even see your words written in another post. You know nothing about US law, or this case for that matter. You did not read the writ and have made that very clear. And more that likely you have not read any of the prior cases either. I myself read them all and I have worked in a courthouse and it was my job to understand law and file documents and goto court.

This case has standing and will be ruled on, I am very greatful it will be. I went back over the figures and for 17 suits that would be over 100,000 dollars for Obama to fight it with his 'teams' of lawyers in multiple states. Lets not get into how much that costs the taxpayer and the rediculous crap hes tieing up our courts with. This only makes me more suspicious of him. I hope to god that money isnt coming out of the campaign fund, what a way to waste our cash.

I agree with Obamas views on everything but abortion. I would support him in his decisions 100% if he was found to be legit. I am a far left supporter. Always have been, only thing Ive ever disagreed with is abortion. And its not because i share the far rights views on it, I have an individual view of my own that belongs neither on the right nor left. So I cant hate Obama for that. However I can hate the guy for covering up a prerequisite for his job to be and commiting fraud against the american people as a whole.

So Im done with this thread and Ive got a few more people to put on my firefox block list. Who needs a 10 person limit anyways? I just use firefox, thank god for that. Ignorance is a waste of my brain power and time. I encourage you other guys to just mute these trolls. I cannot wait to see the outcome of the case and hope justice will be done whatever the outcome may be. Goodluck to you all.
