Perhaps the question to be asked is how long until the next assassination attempt? Not that I'm saying there will definitely be another attempt on his life, but assuming that Obama will definitely be killed through assassination would be rather audacious yet ineluctably superfluous unless one can back it up with evidence.

Some of our American friends are clearly a bit sensitive about it, and with good reason; they know their country is well supplied with gun-toting crazies who would just love to put a few bullets into the man. It didn't happen when Obama was a mere candidate; even then his security must have been very good. It will be better now that he is President-elect, and better still when he is actually in the White House; but, of course, his exposure to the risks of assassination are higher in that position than any other. Going on past form, any US president currently has a 4 percent chance of dying by assassin's bullet; for Barak Obama, charismatic, black and liberal, that chance has to rise substantially.

Now you're saying that race isn't the issue....so tell me...what is the issue? Why exactly do you think he would be assasinated other than because of the fact that he is African American? Please don't say race is not an issue for you because it most definitely is a driving factor in the question you pose.

But I will answer your question. I don't think president-elect Obama will be assasinated. The only threat of assasination would most likely come from extremist groups within our own country, which will not get very far at all in any attempts they may have.

Contrary to what unfortunate, small-minded souls may feel, a greater majority of our great nation and the free world at large is elated at best and respectful at worst to have Barack Obama as our next president.

There's nothing there to read into the post bar an ill phrased question.

Given the question was asked wrong but it was supposed to incur a sense of irony of the world. Certainly not to be indicative of any sort of hate on my part. Which I will state again there was none of.

There is lots of hate in the world and it can focus on things that aren't important such as a persons skill and ability to do their job, what indeed should be a meritocracy. But by asking a question that many people must have thought about doesn't mean it's something I want to happen. An innocent thought given the instability of the world is no reason to assume hatred.

Life is a precious thing and although many regard it as something that is cheap I do not.

So I apologise for phrasing it in a stupid manner, the irony of the question I think as lost.

If he were to be 'assassinated' in our eyes, he will come out into the public all safe and healthy three days later

I just had to throw that in
